About this house rental
Oscoda on Oceana
SLEEPS: 6
BEDROOMS: 3
BATHROOMS: 1.5
*2 DOGS are welcome to the property!
**Security cameras installed to monitor lawncare and snow removal.**
Nestled between Lake Huron (0.9 of a mile) and the Au Sable River (2.9 miles) is a classic place where you can relax, visit with family and friends in the area, or explore the many nearby water activities. The outdoor scope, both the front and backyard spaces provide, are the backdrop for privacy where outdoor games are effortless. Although there is not a fenced yard, watching the kids (or your furry family members) play in the yard can feel serene.
While the structure of the home may be considered vintage, the updates are surely not. The decor throughout the home is filled soothing colors and comfortable furniture pieces. Simplicity rules the roost here.
On the main level you'll be able to relax in the comfortable living room area. Plus, it's convenient to prep the family meals from the newly renovated kitchen (2021). There is even a cozy seating area for your friends or family members share the stories of the day while the meal is being prepared, or for the chef of your group to take a moment to catch his/her breath while waiting for the kitchen timer to ring. The dining area off the kitchen allows you to focus on your family as you enjoy a meal together.
A simple 1/2 bath on the main level provides another level of ease between the kitchen, dining and living rooms. The main floor washer/dryer is beneficial after a long day on the water or at the nearby Lake Huron beach (Oscoda Beach Park, just a 3-minute drive).
Each step up the stairs brings you one pace closer to descending into one the three (3) queen-size beds upstairs, as you lie your head at night. Each room has a ceiling fan to keep you cool in the evenings. Opening an upstairs bedroom window brings in the crip air in the evenings near the water. The full bathroom- tub (with shower), toilet and sink near the bedrooms provide the convenience we crave while on vacation.
If comfort and convenience on the top of your priority list for visiting the Oscoda area; the Oscoda on Oceana vacation home is the ideal spot for you and your family.

It was a lovely home in a friendly neighborhood. The home was supplied with everything you needed for your stay. I was fortunate to meet the homeowner who was very friendly and accommodating. The back yard was spacious for our little Remy who loved running and rolling. However as a Senior that back step out was a little steep. We enjoyed our stay tremendously.

The property was great. Had all the kitchen tools and appliances needed, including many pots, pans, & bakeware. jThere is a nice grill on the patio which we used. The home was very clean. The 3 bedrooms were clean, adequate, & comfortable. The back yard is large & backs to private property. We even saw 5 deer in the back of the property when we had a fire in the firepit. The home is very close to the activities like the beach on Lake Huron, canoe & kayak rentals for the Au Sable River, etc. The ownership was very easy to contact when we had a little problem & it was resolved in a timely manner. I would highly recommend this property.

I would suggest trimming the front bushes that was a pain to walk on the path. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the pots & pans and kitchen amenities. Maybe another light in the dining room. I would for sure rent again if needed. I would also recommend this property to others going to the area.

Visited Oscoda to see the area since being stationed at the old Wurtsmith AFB in the 80’s. Decided to stay in a VRBO property and glad we did. The property was as advertised in a quiet neighborhood with all the amenities. Would recommend the property to others.

Very nice 👍, watched Five deer every morning and every evening. It was awesome 😎. Great house and fire pit.

Nice and cozy home. Close to town! Great getaway!!

Our group consisted of 5 adults, a 3yr old, and a golden retriever. The house was very spacious so we never felt crowded and the games in the living room were a nice touch. We made most meals at the house. There wasn't a lot of cabinet space to store food but we made do. The only other non-postives were the mini-blinds in the bedrooms didn't block the sun at all so we were woke up at sunrise, and the house needed a good cleaning. There were a lot of spiders & spider webs and dust. Overall, we had a great weekend getaway.

House was clean, somewhat dated, in subdivision- I guess I didn’t realize from reviews- pictures look like it’s more remote - just a normal subdivision- Beds too small for two adults- need 1-2 queen/ king beds for double occupancy. Kitchen pots and pans very used, scratches and residue. - smelled like mildew till we added candle and aired it out. Better than cheap hotel.

This house worked out perfect for us while we met up with family in the area. The home was clean and had everything we needed. I would describe it as having all the comforts of home while still being Upnorth and being super close to a lot to do. I would definitely stay there again.

The inside was very clean and the kitchen was very nice. I picked the property for the proximity to the lake and town. The biggest complaint is the outside. The grass was not cut, the front of the house needed to be power washed cob webs all over, landscape was very lacking. The fire pit was okay but again in the midst of uncut grass. Two buckets of stagnant water by the wood pile. We dumbed them and there was a dead rat in one, which then made it hard to enjoy our fire because all we smelled was the dead animal. The yard and patio were not anything you would want to relax outside and enjoy a cup of coffee on. Felt trapped indoors unless out to the lake. If you had younger kids it was welcoming to relax outdoors. For a vacation area, I think a relaxing yard is essential. In the bathroom the soap dispenser (an old pink tile one, fell off the wall when barely hit with my leg. I think the property has a lot of potential and again inside was very clean and comfortable. Good proximity to other attractions.

Overall lovely place in a quiet neighborhood, with lots of outdoor space. Clean and nicely appointed, it served our purpose for a weekend stay. It's a multi level layout, with steps and stairs to access all rooms and entrances.

We were working in the area and weren't there much but the house was nice and as described.

We had to find a place quickly for a couple of nights for an out-of-state funeral on a wintery weekend. We had our daughter and grandchildren with us, so this was much better than a hotel. The management was excellent to work with and responded very quickly. We were very happy to have found such a roomy, conveniently located, comfortable, warm place to lay our heads. There was an abundance of games for the kids. The big yard would be nice in the summer.

this is a really clean and comfy house. location was great for me. Excellent!

My daughter and son-in-law came to MI to visit their grandparents. The grandparents place is small so we opted to do a rental for the weekend. Communication was good.
The outside of the house had cobwebs on the front enterance and porch lights. Rooms and bathroom were clean. Could have used a good thorough dusting. Too many signs placed through out the home ( eg: don’t flush wipes in the toilet and etc ). A book with house rules along with areas recommendations would be a nice touch

Located pretty much in the center of town. Short 5 mins drives to everything we wanted to do. Definity will be staying here again! The process for check in and check out was very easy. When I called to check out the person who answered was extremally nice and understanding (I forgot to call when we actually left)

The second day hot water wasn’t working No air-condition. It was very dirty Bad smell everywhere every room we left one day early we couldn’t stay anymore my daughter had bad rash all over her body

Down sides: Our Yorkie had difficulty with the stairs, including the front door stairs, back door stair, stairs to TV room, and sometimes the stairs to the 2nd floor. He is always adventurous, but kept knocking his chin or skipping a step. Also, AC would have been nice in this uncharacteristically oppressive weather.
Up sides: Great kitchen, Lots of utensils, mugs, cups, pans, etc, thanks!! Grill was great, esp with picnic table and colorful lights. Dining table is pretty with plenty of room. Towels were plentiful. Beds were comfy. Washing machine was appreciated. Games were fun. TV room is cozy and comfy. Thanks so much for a great vacation.
