"My Happy Place" at Lake Barkley is a great opportunity to getaway with that special someone for a little rest and relaxation. Enjoy the lake views, hot tub, or the quite time together sitting on the deck. You could also cook that romantic meal that you have been meaning to prepare. While at "My Happy Place" you can also explore all the great things to do in the LBL area; hiking, boating, golfing, and great restaurants. Please be aware this is a 600 square feet, one bedroom cottage and it is connected to a second unit that has a separate entrance. The hot tub is exclusively used by guests in "My Happy Place."

Loved the sweet little cottage like place by the lake. Very clean. Nice and neat place to stay. Very nice owner! Loved the robes. We did have a hard time getting the hot tub settings to go down on the temp. And the WiFi wasn’t the best. But, over all we loved this place. You won’t go wrong by staying here. I’d like to come back!

The property is a very intimate setting. All rooms are in close proximity to each other. The hot tub and deck area was great. If you are planning a romantic getaway with just you and your significant other, this is the place.

Our stay was nice. We had a slight hiccup with check-in, nothing in anyone’s control and owners were super quick to respond and get us in. There were internet issues in the area, again out of anyone’s control and the owner was so great to reach out and attempt to get updates for us. Very much appreciated that! I would highly recommend this property and using any of their other properties! You cannot beat their customer service and caring!

It was a nice and cozy place for me to stay. Wouldn’t work for more than 2 people. Weather was cold and temperamental this week; therefore, I didn’t get to enjoy much of the area. Also the Directv satellite acted up due to weather so I couldn’t use it much. Watched off my phone at night. I would rent it again.

Property was cute. It worked well for two people only. The kitchen was great. I have nothing bad to say about it other than the bed was very uncomfortable. We could feel the springs of the bed in our backs. The hot tub was the main reason we booked this property and it was disappointing that the jets were outside of the water. The water was very very low.

This was the perfect place for my husband and I. The space was very clean and had all we needed. The view was beautiful from the deck and the hot tub was great durning the cold nights. The neighborhood was quiet and clean. We would stay there again if in the area. Thanks to the owners for an easy booking, check in and out.

This place was perfect for two. It has everything you need. Full size fridge, kitchen appliances for cooking, and bonus dishwasher made things easy for cleaning up. Wifi and TV were great for a couple rainy days we had. Hot tub worked fine.
Only things I didn't like was the bed wasn't comfortable, way too firm for a side sleeper and pillows are a bit flat. Rugs in bedroom and living room would have made it feel more cozy, the hard floors felt a bit sticky. Stairs leading to entrance are fine...but made carrying a cooler a team effort.
Overall would recommend to anyone.

We enjoyed our stay. It’s perfect for two people. It would have been a bit nicer if we had a direct lake view but there is a view of the lake with houses in front of it. The unit is well equipped with whatever you need for a short stay. There was an issue with trash being left and the couch being broken- the owner was quick to respond and refunded the cleaning fee, per my request. The hot tub is nice to have but it doesn’t get very hot - max is 104 degrees. Otherwise, cute little place to stay within quick driving distance to fun activities.

We really enjoyed our stay. The place was very nice and just the right size for my husband and I. Even though there were houses between is and the lake the views from the balcony were nice. We spent late evenings and mornings on the deck. Would stay there again.

This property was perfect for my husband and I. Great location, close to everything but also private. The condo was connected to a much larger condo with guests and we did not hear them at all from inside. The hot tub was perfect after exploring the area. Pattie's 1880 restaurant was a lot of fun. I highly recommend it .The condo was clean & very comfortable. It had everything we needed as far as linens, towels, kitchen stuff, etc. You may want to bring storage containers or ziplock bags if you plan to cook. Having a washer & dryer was a plus.
My only suggestion (not a dealbreaker) was not having a garbage disposal. The only other issue was there were a couple of wasp nests under the deck and at the base of the hot tub. My husband was able to remove one. Once that was gone, we only saw a couple wasps during the week. Just be on the lookout, especially if you have little kids.
We noticed if the WiFi got funky then the door combo lock would not work. Ron was completely reachable and helped us immediately. We realized later in the week, if we reset the router, the issue to the door was not an issue anymore.
Cell service is sketchy around the lake but that was not a deal breaker for us, as we welcomed the unplugging. If we needed it, we noticed once we were on the main road we had access. This is a great location for a single, couple or a small family. Ron is a great host. We would definitely visit here again.

We enjoyed our stay. The main issue was the "neighbors" who rented the other part of thr house not honoring to stay on theit side of thr driveway, which the owner addressed. The hot tub was nice even though we struggled with some operational issues. We messaged the owner of this at checkout but did not receive response. It is a really nice neighborhood and cozy spot to relax.

This property was just what we needed for a relaxing getaway. It was quiet, clean and well-stocked with the needed kitchen utensils and appliances. The best part of this property was relaxing in the hot tub after a day of golf then cuddling up in the amazing robes that were provided. Morning coffee on the deck while watching the boats launch from the boat dock was an added bonus. A perfect getaway for two!

The unit was perfect for two. Clean and plenty of room. Neighborhood felt safe and was beautiful in early spring.
If the neighbor had not used all the hot water on the first night we were there, I would not have anything negative at all to say. And it did eventually warm up and was really only a minor glitch in a romantic weekend away! The owner was super responsive and apologetic and this was not something they had an issue with previously either.
We would definitely recommend and hope to go back again!

Wonderful stay! We had a great time exploring the area. My Happy Place is just as described and Ron was wonderful to communicate with. It was extra nice having such a large kitchen to work in.
When we arrived the hot tub was in "vacation mode" and the temperature was only 75*, but the directions on how to fix that are on the refrigerator and were easy to follow. The hot tub got up to temp in a few hours, so don't let that intimidate you!
The television is not a smart TV, not a deal breaker, but something that was a little unusual to us. If you have a show you're watching or a service you're used to streaming, travel with a Roku stick if you want to have access to those things.
We would definitely stay again!

Location is great! Host responds quickly. GREAT KITCHEN if you love to cook like me. Don’t expect a lot of room. It’s a tight squeeze from getting in the bed to sitting on the couch. It’s also connect to a big house so I kinda felt I was in someone’s upstairs. Make sure you can climb steps. Over all we had a great stay despite the hot tub only working the first night and my 5 year old falling down the steps onto the rocks. We seen probably 20 deer over 2 days in the woods right before entering the subdivision. Close to a grocery store and fast food.

The “happy place” is an amazing cute one bedroom cabin, that my wife and I love. Our problem was with the cleanliness. When we arrived the bed was not made with dirty linens on the floor and wet towels in the washer. After placing the towels in the drier, we contacted the manager of the property, who promptly arranged for a cleaning service to finish clean the space. We left for about an hour and a half. When we returned to the cabin, we found almost everything cleaned and put away. But the bed was still unmade, with the comforter in the washer. We dried the comforter and made the bed. We enjoyed the cabin, but the lack of detail for cleanliness really bothered us.

We had a great time. Perfect for a girls getaway weekend! Everything was clean the check in process was super easy and the hot tub was our fav!

It was a very nice and clean house. The big house was also beautiful. The area was just amazing. Loved the lake. Loved going out and watching the wildlife. The deer were everywhere. The only problem was that the hot tub would not get hot. But the property owner did give us a 50 dollar refund. Overall I give it a 9 1/2 just because we didn't get to use the hot tub. I would recommend this property to everyone.

The property was as listed and the host very responsive. There was an issue with some of the supplies that were to be there however the host was super helpful and acted on them quickly. Finding it in the dark was tricky but again, the host answered immediately and got us to the right place. Thanks for the stay!

Everything was nice,listing is accurate. My wife and I enjoyed our stay. A towel a a couple pieces of trash had been left out by the hot tub by previous renters, that was a little concerning when we first arrived but that was the only issue.
