About this cottage rental
Stunningly Refurbished 1860's Lake District 3 bedroom property, superbly equipped and in an ideal location. Walkable into Cockermouth town centre, accessible to West coast, Western lakes/fells and to the city of Carlisle.
Northdene, Belle Vue, Papcastle, Cockermouth
Northdene is situated less than a mile from the charming market town of Cockermouth. Whilst there’s a cracking family eatery two doors down it’s a mere 15 minute walk through the charming hamlet of Papcastle into Cockermouth.
You’ll cross the beautiful River Derwent and be met by a wealth of artisan coffee shops, bakeries, cafe’s, restaurants, independent shops and superb Gastro Pubs. Not to mention Wordsworth House and Jennings Traditional Brewery.
We’re kind of guessing that if you’re coming to the area you’ll be well aware of the stunning Lake District at your disposal – there’s too much to mention so we’ll leave that to you guys.
Northdene has been completely renovated over the last two years and is a stunning end of terrace cottage - much bigger than the frontage suggests. Quality and comfort have been to the forefront of our thoughts with a mixture of high end traditional and contemporary furnishings and features. From the modern German kitchen and bathrooms to the traditional cast iron radiators, woodburner, bedroom fireplace and slide and sash windows.
Downstairs
The living room with large cosy sofas and Aga wood burner give that perfect homely feel with a lovely flow to the dining area and stunning luxury kitchen – incorporating wine cooler, Induction hob and high end integrated appliances, floor to ceiling windows and inviting island and sofa combination. We’d be very surprised if you don’t spend the bulk of your downtime in this room.
Separate downstairs WC and wash basin – handy for kids and elderly guests.
Upstairs
Upstairs carries on the quality and cosy ambience with charming light tunnel illuminating the stairs and landing area.
Three bedrooms incorporating Sealy luxury beds – wonderful for that perfect night’s sleep after your days exploring the area or walking the stunning Western Fells.
The Master bedroom has its own en suite shower and toilet room with King Size bed and many traditional features – vaulted ceiling, cast iron radiator, slide and sash window, Velux roof windows, exposed sandstone wall, traditional panelling and high end retro lighting.
The second bedroom incorporates a double bed, cast iron radiator and a beautifully salvaged original fireplace.
The third bedroom has two single beds with a lovely vaulted ceiling and Velux roof window flooding light into the room.
The property is listed with 2.5 bathrooms - this consists of the downstairs toilet and wash basin. Upstairs - a modern family bathroom with large walk in shower and luxury bath and WC finished with designer radiator/towel rail and the previously mentioned en suite shower, wash basin and toilet room associated with the master bedroom.
Outdoors there’s side access to the gorgeous patio area with luxurious garden furniture and recently laid lawn. Additionally there is a recently fitted Electric Vehicle Charger (Garo). Unfortunately, due to installation costs and energy prices there will be a charge for its use.
Cycle storage is available to the rear of the garden at the request of our guests – prior notice preferable.
We believe our wonderfully extended, restored and painstakingly furnished property is ideal for families and couples alike. We’ve given it our all and we sincerely hope this is reflected in the finished product – please enjoy.......Oh, and please come back and enjoy your luxury welcome hamper yet again.
Looking forward to offering a warm Cumbrian welcome to all our guests,
Tony, Shaun, Jane and Jools
