About this house rental
***25% off any 5 day or longer booking, for a stay being between 08/01/24 & 11/15/24*** Casa Gibo Del Mar is designed for friends and families - with or without kids - to
enjoy a comfortable house, be within the solitude of the gated Shoys community,
and enjoy all the wonderful activities of St. Croix. Unlike the vast majority of
houses in the islands, all of Casa Gibo's bedrooms are accessible from the main
living area. Three of the four upstairs bedrooms have king-sized beds and all
have a private full bath. The optional lower-level apartment has an exterior
entrance but can also be accessed by interior stairs from the main floor if you
include it in your rental. It's a great place to put the kids to bed early while the
adults continue to vacay upstairs. Every room is air conditioned (also unusual in
St. Croix) but you will probably never need to turn on the AC. The sea breezes are
amazing the majority of the year. We pretty much only use the AC in the
bedrooms while we're sleeping.
Casa Gibo Del Mar is in the gated Shoys neighborhood which includes Shoys
Beach - one of the highest rated snorkeling and sunning beaches in St. Croix. The
beach is an easy walk or a very quick drive from the house. Casa Gibo is equipped
with beach chairs (6), beach umbrellas (2), a cooler, assorted water toys, and a
collapsible wagon to haul your gear to the sand and gorgeous azure blue water of
Shoy's Beach. From the parking area, it's 50 yard walk through a very cool
mangrove tunnel to the sand and water - and the odds are good you will be the
only one on the beach many days.
St. Croix has many amazing restaurants (The Galleon at Green Cay Marina is in
view and walkable from our pool deck and has excellent steaks and seafood) and
you'll definitely want to eat a few meals out - but you may also want to grill your
fresh catch on the pool deck or cook a delicious dinner in Casa Gibo's gourmet
kitchen. Our property manager can even arrange a private chef to cook if you
want to be pampered. We've equipped the kitchen with everything you will need to
prepare basic to gourmet meals. We always strive to make the house better for
the next guest so if you see something we're missing please let us know and it will be there for your next visit.

This house has everything you need for a Carribbean vacation. It’s in a lovely neighborhood in what is probably the top gated community on the island. We very much enjoyed our stay

My grandsons called this the best vacation ever! The house was beautiful yet comfortable and spacious enough for all of us to be together without being on top of each other. Kitchen is well supplied with dishes, etc. Pool and deck area was very convenient with children, dining room table fit the whole family. Master suite is gorgeous. Lovely location and view. Would stay there again.

I went with my five brothers and sisters and four spouses. We had a wonderful time. The house was great. One problem was the first step into the pool was so high and no railing made it hard to impossible for some of us to get in and out of the pool.
4.6
Incredible property well stocked with everything needed to enjoy and relax. The kitchen had nice pots and pans with sharp knives. David was very responsive with all our needs. We honestly have nothing bad to say.

We were visiting St. Croix for a destination wedding to be held at the Buccaneer. We rented this house with another family for the wedding and it was amazing. The house is beautiful and had plenty of space for all of us. The pictures and description are exactly what we found. The bedrooms are spacious with access to bathrooms. The kitchen is large with plenty of space for all of us in the dining room. The pool was delightful and we used it often as it was hot the weekend we were there and they provided plenty of towels for the pool. I also loved that they provided beach chairs, beach umbrellas, a cooler bag, and a beach wagon that you can use when visiting any of the numerous beaches on the island. We visited Shoys beach which is very close to the house and made good use of the beach chairs. The hosts were very responsive when we asked questions both leading up to the rental and during our stay. They provided great information on local grocery stores and restaurants in the area. We felt safe in the gated community which always had a guard manning the gate 24/7. It is really close to the Buccaneer which we used for beach days as well as attending the wedding. Thank you for making our stay so wonderful.

Property lived up to our expectations from the listing. House is well appointed and was clean. Bedrooms are spacious and the beds are, dare I sat it - comfortable! The house came well stocked with essential spices for cooking. Capable cookware and cutlery and appliances made cooking easy. The view off the pool deck is great and you can even see St Thomas on clear days. The hosts are responsive and seemed generally interested in our enjoyment of the property.
A couple small matters. The drain in the master shower does not drain well. Also, mini split air conditioner in the master doesn’t perform as well as it should and that after someone came out to work on it. The house could benefit from a second garbage dumpster. But, these are all minor things and did little to interrupt our stay or our enjoyment of the island.

This home was a great size for our big family to stay in. The bathrooms are very large! We grew up in Shoys and it was wonderful to “return home” to the area. Love that we could walk to the beach, walk the neighborhood, and enjoy the entertaining space without being on top of each other. My only suggestion would be a welcome packet with information regarding trash/recycling, checkout process, as well as maybe info on nearest pharmacy & grocery for those new to the island.

This property was perfect for a group of couples traveling without our children. Ample space for group gatherings but also space to have alone time! The only negative about this property was the master bathroom shower was VERY slow to drain. We also generated a large volume of garbage as it seemed there was no recycling program! However, these were really negligible things and would not stop us from renting this property again. We loved everything we did on the island especially the St.Patrick’s Day Parade... An experience like none we’ve had before. We loved the secluded beach and had no problem navigating around the island with the assistance of google maps. A rental car is a must though as there are limited transportation options.

The house is beautiful and well supplied with beach gear, towels, appliances, and supplies. The location is quiet, but close enough to town to be convenient. The property manager is very responsive and helpful. Overall a wonderful stay and I highly recommend.

This house was amazing and accommodated our group of 12 perfectly. The host was very helpful and attentive. It did not have much in the way of spices or sunscreen, but we left some for the next renters in hopes it would benefit someone. It was close to Shoys beach which was very rough while we were there. The Buccaneer was also in the neighborhood and they allowed us to use their chairs at mermaid Beach since we were staying in the Shoys neighborhood. Duggans reef, The Landing, and Ama were huge restaurant hits. The fire dancers and moko jumbie show was fantastic at the Palms but the food was buffet style and not good. It was worth it for the show. Beautiful house, location, pool, and beaches with a great host. We highly recommend!

Wonderful property, everything working well and clean, had a great time with family there. The separate suite downstairs was particularly nice to have for a large group.

We had 6 in our group…our adult children and friends. Everyone had their own room and bathroom making this home ideal! This property was was well kept and nicely stocked with all the essentials of home. From plenty of beach towels to kitchenware this house had it all! The only issue we had was the door code that came with our check in instructions was not the correct code…but the host responded quickly and helped us access the house. It was an awesome vacation and we would stay here again!!

The house was well appointed and maintained. Everything was very clean. We had a bit of trouble finding the house initially, but eventually found it. Some posts have said that you can walk down to the resort below in the marina, but that walkway is locked off with a gate. The house could use some books on St Croix. The pool could use hand rails to get in, given the steps are really steep. Great coffee set up - an neurogenic machines, a regular coffee maker, a grinder and even a milk foamer! We enjoyed a drink at the Buccaneer Lounge and a snorkeling trip with Llewelyn on a catamaran. Duggans Reef and Great Salt Pond were wonderful dinners. Shoy beach is nice and quiet but it was too windy to snorkel there.
4.6
House and pool were very nice. A couple of issues including mouse poop in the closet and a slow draining master shower. Even with these two difficulties, the house was new, spacious and easy to enjoy. The neighborhood is lovely but completely fenced in. A car is a necessity. Beautiful ocean views with an easy half mile walk to a wonderful secluded beach. We recommend this house for families and friends.

Loved this house! My husband & I spent a lovely week in this beautiful home. It was even nicer than the pictures. You can walk to the beach at the bottom of the hill or take a short drive to a small parking area & you are right on Shoys beach (great snorking) which we had all to ourselves this time of year. The house looks newly decorated & the owners took obvious care to provide all the things that make for a nice stay. Plenty of white linens, turkish cotton beach towels, pool toys, beach chairs, plenty of kitchen ware, every kitchen appliance we could possibly need. Everything was clean & ready when we arrived. AC throughout the house was also a big plus for us. Many other homes on the island dont seem to have this, but it is a luxury to crawl into clean white sheets in a deliciously cool room after a long hot day of playing in the sun & sand.
