A beautiful home with plenty of room for a large family.
The neighborhood was a bit run down.

Entry was easy. Lock works via keypad, and hosts sent code well before we arrived. (Locking the door on the way out, though, was not so intuitive. Hosts should post a note: "Hold the Lock button until the deadbolt is fully engaged--may take several seconds.")
Whole house is nicely remodeled and was spotlessly clean. Kitchen is gorgeous and well equipped, including high-end appliances and a wide variety of cookware, utensils, knives, dishes, etc. There's even a Brita pitcher in the fridge. Big clothes washer and dryer look brand new (though we used only the washer and only to start towels upon departure). Leafy, rustic backyard and sunny deck are a peaceful place for evening drinks and morning coffee and are big enough for kids to run around and explore. Even though neighbors are close on both sides, the yard felt private. And the neighborhood was quiet, too. There's currently a small field/yard directly across the street, adjacent to a church property, and the rooms at the front of the house have large windows that look out onto grass, trees, and the neighorhood houses farther down the road. The house also has a basement, which isn't a "finished" space but contains a few more fun things to do: a carnival-style basketball toss, a Skee-Ball look-alike, and exercise equipment.
BEWARE: Steep, narrow indoor stairs have no handrails(!), so carry yourself and luggage with caution. Also, I nearly fell down the stairs at night trying to reach the 3rd floor bathroom because the top step drops off very close to the bathroom door. For safety, leave on a light and open the door ajar. Doors on the 3rd floor landing get in the way of one another, so be careful in this area, especially if you're traveling with young children.
We would have liked places to hang up clothes in the 3rd floor bedrooms. The rooms have plenty of drawers, but the large closets have no bars. One closet contained a baby changing table and smelled like dirty diapers when the room got hot. The air-conditioning didn't reach the 3rd floor very well, and it was hot often during our August trip. (Hosts: Replace the pad on the changing table? Deep clean the carpet? At least add an air purifier and fan to this room.) Both 3rd floor bedrooms could really use a fan; with the AC controlled by just one thermostat, we were cold on the 1st floor and too warm on the 3rd. I would venture a guess that the heating in the wintertime is similarly inconsistent from floor to floor, so if you stay here when it's frosty, ask for extra blankets.
Final FYI: Because the house is near a church, parking was tight on a Sunday morning. All other times we were there, street parking was easy.
