Avoid this hotel.
We stayed in the suite:
- and it was cold - the heating was luke warm and it is a large room. There was a small heater on full blast. It was ineffective.
-TV remote was out of batteries and needed to be fixed - it happens.
-The duvet was smaller than the bed.
- We put the kettle on and it blew a fuse. We sat in darkness for 20minutes to be told we can’t use the kettle or other appliances whilst the heater is on and essentially blamed for the blackout.
The manager was defensive and thought offering us a meal at 9.30pm (we’d eaten) or a superior room with a view (at 9.45pm), which we would not see nor were we inclined to pack and unpack were suitable solutions.
We requested more duvets (two single duvets arrived). A discount was apparently not possible because we’d booked via Hotels.com.
The dialogue continued the next day at check out. With this many failings, we did not expect nor appreciate repeating ourselves nor a third and another defensive, long and tiresome conversation.
The manager offered afternoon tea when we were due to fly out. She offered a voucher for our next stay. There certainly would not be one. She was not inclined to recommend a discount to Hotels.com because in her mind she had offered (non) solutions. It was truly very disappointing.
Yes we received a discount but only because we held our ground. It should have been forthcoming without so much effort.

A lovely hotel in a great location. Lovely little spa too. Great breakfast choices - even for me as a vegetarian.

no luggage racks so had to have suitcases on floor which was difficult with bad backs. if bathroom light was turned off, the electric outlet inside bathroom did not work. therefore we could not use a nightlight. bathtub was so deep. very difficult to climb in and out of bathtub. my husband hurt his toe climbing into the bathtub. breakfast buffet was excellent!!!

Wouldn't stay here again. Such a let down to be honest. Location is not bad for the city but for good restaurants and coffee it is not the best location.

Bad service from Restaurant, unprofessional. Overpriced. Not luxury at all. Only reason they get any stars from our experience is the housekeeping ladies. Worst breakfast from a hotel I have had in a long time.

Beautiful. Highly recommend

A magnificent stay for 2 ladies, 59 and 94 years old. Professional, yet personal service everywhere in the house.

The hotel staff were really helpful and nice, the location is perfect for walking to tourist attractions, restaurants, shops and transport links.
The beds are very nice but the room could do with some attention. Main issue is that children are not allowed in the swimming pool until the weekend and has to be at a certain time

The staff friendly
Our room comfy and clean

5 star Hotel with no Room Service after 22:00 and no dining at all is something that I have never seen. Not a single bell boy helped me with my 4 bags. Not when coming or going. Check out was really slow. Did not help me get transport. This is an hotel with old fame, but no standard or service.

Great location, that’s it. very basic rooms from tv channel options to the looks style (even if I booked a small room I would have expected more). Worst part is the spa. So dated and not kept up, broken tiles in the pool that are sharp, loose railing which is a hazard and when you are in the pool looking over the ground you can see how dirty the floor is with grouting being full of dirt-hair and muck. It shouldn’t be a 5 star hotel as you have to pay for the spa facilities which are as described gross and underwhelming. Reception bar area look great, that is where it ends.

If you have lots of money you’re going to think this hotel is amazing. It’s housed celebrities. But if you’re an average person thinking to “treat” yourself? Especially by booking through Expedia? You will be given a dingy room with old carpet and worn furniture at the back of the hotel where the karaoke bar blasts until 3am The staff will smile and tell you there is nothing they can do because “they’re so booked” (mid week on a Wednesday when Norwegian kids are back in school and it is effectively low travel season) but they will offer you complimentary champagne vouchers for the bar. Trust me on this… skip this hotel ABS take the $500/night tie willing to pay to slower rates hotel but spring for THEIR top room. You’ll enjoy that experience way better.

Beautiful hotel in a great location. Restaurant was stunning with great food!

Great location. Fun, historic hotel.

Right in the center of town with easy walk to the port, royal palace, and most attractions.

A magnificent, storied hotel at the doorstep of Oslo's charming historic city centre and a short wall from the harbour, cathedral and train station. The breakfast package was superb and is the right way to set out your day of Oslo discovery and adventure.

Nice overall. Only a couple recommendations. The street noise from passerbys ALL night long made it difficult to sleep and the Mitsubishi split was noisy as well. Room 602. A suggestion for the noise would be some sort of white noise or window film to curb noise.

Lovely hotel.

Perfect location near the heart of Oslo. Beautiful hotel. Rooms are on the smaller side when traveling with children but otherwise excellent.

Hotel had a wedding, and wouldn’t turn down the bass. Couldn’t sleep until 3am, then up at 5:30. Never stay here! They just don’t care. It’s all hype, and no performance. Undercooked hamburger, TWICE, same meal. BIG NAME; little satisfaction.

Beautiful, updated rooms. Great location. Excellent staff. Some elevator limitations to certain rooms. Elegant restaurant and library. Great view from top floor. Nice gym.

Grand hotel oslo.
If you will travel with seniors, don’t stay in the rooms in 4-5 floor. Stairs!!
Breakfast buffet was great and the staffs are great too.

Flight canceled, hotel would not accept a refund.

The staff was friendly and the room was fine.
But there are too many stairs, so the hotel is not good for handicapped people or seniors.

Excellent proximity to high end shopping and the parliament building across the road. Nice staff who had umbrellas available for free during a few rainy days. Definitely a five star hotel in a lovely city

Great location. The rooms are pretty plain and extremely noisy. Restaurants have very few options.

The Grand Hotel Oslo is a well established, refurbished, historic hotel in the center of Oslo. Its location is extremely convenient to museums, transportation, shopping and restaurants. Overall our experience was very good. The concierge was excellent and room service was outstanding. The hotel caters to large tourist groups. As a result, there was no bellmen to help with luggage and you have to negotiate 7 steps to the elevators and very likely more steps once you get to the floor of your room. Sunday evening, there was no in-hotel dining except room service, which was very accommodating! First time, very nice experience; next time I’ll try a different hotel.

I loved the architecture and design of the hallways.

Beautifully rich hotel with location, location, location! Perfectly and centrally located to all points of interests. Staff was courteous and helpful. We found the Concierge service to be outstanding as they were always enthusiastic and happy to assist with our inquiries.

Beautiful hotel. Great location close to everything

The staff was very pleasant and helpful, especially for a foreign traveler. The hotel is very clean. The rooms are functional, but were smaller than expected. The hotel is located in a perfect place for site seeing, shopping and dining.

Large luxurious room. Spa and rooftop were great.

It was sort of a five star sort of not. Dirty hallways. I arrived late in the evening and nobody offered to help with baggage despite having to go up a small flight of stairs to the elevator. Three staff members looked at us

Beautiful old style hotel. Room was modern and very clean, if a little too warm.
