Generally excellent place

Clean and easy access to the port! Very helpful staff as well. Will stay again

Lovely room just wish bathroom was better planned - large basin that took up way too much room, badly positioned shampoo and shower gel and badly positioned loo roll holder - if those things were sorted it would be perfect. Fabulous breakfast and plenty of parking balances out bathroom shortcomings. Bella Italian on site is a bonus

The staff were wonderful, the beds comfortable and the room quiet. AC worked perfectly.
The only downside was that there were no plug sockets by the bed which meant I couldn’t plug my CPAP machine in.

Comfort spacious room with all mod cons and fabulous breakfast plus plenty of parking
2.0 / 5.0
Positives: friendly staff, good service, restaurant on site. Decent breakfast.
Negative: Bathroom was not the cleanest. Thick carpet, not hygienic. Noise both from nearby road, rooms and hallway.
But all in all a good stay.

A very mixed bag.
The good?
Good location if you are getting an early Ferry/Eurotunnel at Folkestone (~25 mins drive)
Great (outdoor) parking options, with plenty of "real" spaces (for touring cars, etc.)
The bad?
Our bed/mattress was terrible.
It was not "flat"
It had "peaks and troughs" (like a toblerone).
It felt like we were sleeping on a series carpark speedbumps.
You would continual "roll" left or right.
We rang reception, asked for any other rooms.
None were available.
There was a wedding happening.
We asked for another mattress.
none were available.
We asked for some additional duvets and blankets and ended up sleeping on the floor.
We didn't sleep much at all.
We tried to take off the mattress protector, which seemed to be the problem, but it was very gross, so we gave up.
I raised it with the manager the following morning. I think he is probably still in shock.
I would have asked for a refund, but was sleep deprived.
--
My advise to the Management Team.
Please undertake a full audit of your mattresses and your mattress protectors.
Overall room was very tired (just like us the following morning, zing!)
Maybe we were just very unlucky.
But it would take a lot. A lot, for us to book with this hotel again.

Great location for the ferry. Clean and good quality accommodation.

There were lots of good points such as the cleanliness of the room and the fact there are two double beds in a family room rather than a double and a sofa bed. Food service was good. We left early for Le Shuttle so didn’t get a chance to have breakfast but the seating area looked good and promising for an enjoyable breakfast. The garden looks nice with a bandstand. However, the whole experience was not positive nor up to the standard we expected for the cost of the stay. The hotel hosts weddings and has a large party marquee. When we arrived we struggled to park our car in the car park due to wedding guests parking and it was tricky to park our caravan. We were given a room where the window looked out to the wedding marque. The loud music and bass line thumped through our room even with the windows closed. We asked for a solution as we had an early train with 4.30am alarm and were given a different room which was quieter but you could still hear the music and now also the next room’s TV (potentially in loud to drown out party music). I’m not against weddings or parties but if I had been notified at booking that there would be a wedding party I would not have booked this hotel.

Building was very well maintained although it is an older facility with narrow halls. Hotel staff needs to better control the EV parking places and prevent petrol/diesel vehicles from taking spots needed to charge electric vehicles.

I loved Martin who managed the front desk- he did everything to make our stay. The only issue not resolved was the phone didn’t work in our room.
2.0 / 5.0
The check in process was slow and slightly chaotic but the staff were kind. We stayed there while we waited to board a cruise ship. There are no Ubers or hotel shuttle to the cruise terminal. The front desk called us a taxi and recommended that we schedule a taxi for the following day to get us to the cruise terminal. It was the BEST advice and if we did not take it would have been walking. There are no sidewalks and the streets are CRAZY. We did walk to a cute Chinese pub that was fantastic. There is also a McDonalds you can walk to. If you want to buy wine for your cruise, you can buy it at the gas station by Walmart. Hotel was fine. I would probably stay there again.

This is a clean hotel, in a great location.
The gig things are perfect, the rooms, the lobby, car parking all great.
The little things were lacking:
I asked a question about the security of the car park as I have a bicycle on the back of the car, I was promised a call back, it never happened.
I had a question about WiFi the person at receptions said, well as I have never stayed in this hotel how would I know?
The breakfast buffet was cold, with basic like eggs missing.
The restaurant mixed up my order a couple of times.
The big things are perfect, but the service needs some work to bring it up to scratch.

Prompt friendly check-in. Great room. Excellent evening meal and breakfast

Our stay at the hotel was a mixed bag, leaning towards a comedy of errors. On the plus side, it had easy parking and was conveniently close to gas and McDonald's—perfect for our fast food cravings. We skipped the overpriced breakfast (I prefer my eggs un-gilded, thank you). The single-story layout spared us any elevator drama, but we did find some surprise guests in our clean-ish room: a couple of spiders. The shower hose decided to go rogue, and the fridge seemed to be on a tropical vacation, refusing to get cold, with no maintenance heroes available on the weekend. Despite the hiccups, I'd stay here again just for the convenience to Dover, Walmer, and Deal castles. After all, it’s the little adventures that make trips memorable, right?

The hotel was a last minute booking that worked out extremely well. The hotel was easy to find, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was expensive but good quality. The Italian restaurant was very good. The staff was all very helpful and friendly.
3.0 / 5.0
Hotel was very clean, staff friendly and very helpful. The front desk even arranged for a taxi to take us to the cruise port at checkout. They had a restaurant and bar. Biggest drawback was the location, far from town and attractions. However, taxis were readily available, reachable by phone, once I figured out how to do that from a US-based telephone.

We have had nothing but good experiences with the Holiday Inns in the UK. This one in Dover was great- fast check in, good breakfast, and clean rooms. It’s very close to the Cliffs of Dover and Dover Castle. Definitely would recommend!
