Was wonderfull i really appreciate it

Travelling for work, I though the room and room faclilities were excellent. The pool was lovely and I had it all to myself.
The breakfast was ok. It took a long time to get a tea or coffee, spoons had run out and staff seemed generally overwhelmed.
Some parts of the hotel seemed run down. Some of the reception staff were good but some were rude. Some of the bar and breakfast staff were good and some didn't seem to know what they were doing.
There were a lot of poeple begging in the hotel lobby. It would be better for the hotel to donate to community projects and not allow beggars in the hotel.

Excellent location and fantastic views

I stayed there with my toddler. The staff is very friendly and helpful, taxi service outside the hotel at my convenience was great. The property is huge, but there is so much room for potential, for eg. The kiddies' pool, needs to be reconstructed, (it wasn't clean, and tiles are lifting around it) my son loves the water (ocean/pool) and he didn't want to get into the pool. Didn't ask to go to the pool for the duration of our stay.
There is a supermarket within walking distance from the hotel, perfect for grabbing snacks/water etc.
The club (kids play area), needs to be demolished and reconstructed (not safe at all). Our room was nice, we got the newly renovated rooms. The food- not many options ( we had breakfast daily, and dinner twice)
Overall: such a huge property, there is so much that can be done to uplift certain areas.

I reserved a suite executive room with 2 double beds & was given a room with one bed. They said that's all they had

The property is nice. Obviously the best hotel I have stayed in Senegal with a decent size bathroom đź‘Ť

Service delivery is poor. insects and mosquitoes in the room. No fridge. Coffee maker not producing hot water. Door not closing properly. No security locks from inside the room. Old carpet not well maintained.

It was a decent hotel but I was expecting a bit more for the amount we paid. There was only a refrigerator and a coffee maker I was also hoping for our room to have a microwave especially since we booked the double executive room. I somewhat expected it since I feel like it’s common for travelers to stay for weeks to months. Staff was very friendly however we did have a miscommunication. We called and asked for fruit and ice but we were brought fruit and three bowls of ice cream. After explaining that it was not what we ordered, they later brought up the ice but we still ended up paying for the ice cream even though we did not end up eating it. Most likely will not be back.

I have been to this facility in the past. The service has deteriorated and the6 have stripped at least the standard ro9ms of all amenities.

Staff was very forthcoming. We got a late check out and a free airport transfer. More than one can expect.

Rooms need maintenance. Bathroom ceiling was leaking water and carpets are not cleaned everyday thus rooms get smelly quickly.

I received a nice upgrade from a normal room to a suite!
Rooms could be cleaner. It’s more a four star hotel than a five star.
Overall ok stay

This is a beautiful luxury hotel located on the ocean in Dakar. The views are stunning. The hotel is older but seemed to be well-maintained and the room was very, very comfortable. We had a small problem with the air conditioning which was corrected immediately when we phoned. The front desk staff was amazing!

I used to stay at this property when it was called Meridien. It felt fresh and pleasant. While the structure, surroundings and facilities remain, to me it has lost its ambience.

Think it's used to be a beautiful hotel that has grown old. For the price, it's not up to standard. There are 3 stars hotels that looks better than this. The carpet and furnitures look very old. Doesn't feel like a 5 star. Not worth the price.

Beautiful location on the beach. Great view from our room. Food was amazing as well.

The location of the property was very nice, by the seaside and in a good neighbourhood. The staff and service were good, but we found that we had to ask for certain things that we believe should be standard at top hotels these days. When we asked for them, they were promptly delivered. All things considered, we had a good experience, but left with the impression that the King Fahd Palace is a grand old hotel that may need some modernization if it is to keep up with the competition in Dakar.

Hotel is huge, but quite old. Breakfast could be better and provide more choice. Rooms are old but overall comfortable. Staff is very friendly

The room was smelly and moldy. I am highly allergic to mold. I asked them to switch and they told me to come back the next day. The place is really run down and extremely overpriced. We ended up checking out early and forfieghting our second night because my allergies were so bad.

One the rare excellent experiences I had so far. I will definitely recommend this Hotel for all the things someone is expecting in a Hotel.

I spent one night at the hotel in late August 2018 to attend business meetings. I arrived late at night and they provided me with the most serious upgrade I have ever received due to lack of other room options -- an enormous suite with its own dining room and living space, 2 bathrooms, and a 2 separate balconies. Way too much space for one person but it was a lovely room and I was lucky to get it. The only issue I had was that I contacted the hotel multiple times before arrival to request shuttle transportation from the airport to the hotel and they did not respond to any of my inquiries. Two colleagues traveling from different locations on different flights had the same experience -- emails were not acknowledged and we ended up finding our own transport to the hotel. THe hotel did offer a complementary transfer in their minivan back to the airport upon departure.

Views are nice, but rooms and grounds are outdated. The beach looks like from afar, but all the trash and rocks are not inviting. Buffet is decent if included in your room rate, otherwise outrageously priced. Not a 5 star hotel by US or more developed countries like India standards, but comfortable enough. Walking distance to some good seafood restaurants.

It amazes me why people make such negative about hotels, such as those that appear on Trip Advisor. This hotel is very suitable for most trips whether business or pleasure. Yes it needs some refreshing in some areas but don't we all at a certain age! The staff were excellent and always friendly. Excellent location and quieter than other hotels down the coast line which sit directly in the flight path to the airport. One negative is there is only one restaurant option in the evening but food was very good.

Business Trip. Great beachfront view. Need stronger/stable WIFI connection. Shower leaked on the floor.Bathroom needs repairs/remodeling.

Great location and good hotel - just no longer the best in Dakar.
1.5
Very nice service from the staff, they were polite looking forward to meet our needs. The hotel is a little outdated from the standpoint of design, especially in the bathrooms, but great efforts are made to maintain cleanliness. The Meridien President is not part of the Starwood Hotel Group anymore (now named King Fahd Palace) so membership points are no more awarded nor are the advantages of being a member such as late check-out unless membership was gold level. The conference center is directly on site and so it was more convenient to stay at the Meridien President hotel than staying at a hotel elsewhere in Dakar because none are at a walking distance.
