The atmosphere was very quaint as expected for the style of the Guest House. The room was very nice. Smelled fresh and AC worked well. Bed was very comfortable. But the carpets were quite tired. The floors on the balcony were very tired. Two lovely rocking chairs on the balcony could have used a small table. The door lock on the balcony door was not working opening the balcony to the parking lot. The hotel staff left the property at 6pm which was uncomfortable for us. We could not work the rocku tv we found out after the front desk staff left. A printed explanation in the room would have been helpful. As we were leaving in the am before the diningroom opened we encountered the cook. We asked for something to take with us. He packed us bagels and fruit. So very kind of him.
Overall it was a pleasant stay but some shortcomings.

Room was more beautiful then I could imagine I truly enjoyed it , came in for my Birthday and it was great

Clean room, excellent staff, wonderful location.

Spent two nights here while in town for the balloon festival. Easy walk to festival. Safe area. Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Staff was great. Breakfast could be a little better but overall it was a good stay and I’d stay here again!

Terrible experience at this guset house. When we arrived tyou couldn not flush and the girl at the front desk promised us to fix that. We took a walk at the town and went back, still not fixed but she promised us the plumber was on his way. After a couple of hours we come back again and were promised it was fixed. Guess what, it was not and there was no plumber!! She lied to us!! When we wanted to change room there was none, even though there were two avalible on the website! When we wanted to leave and hove our money back she all of a sudden had a room! It was so much small but we were so tired after a terrible day that we had to take that. We did not get an excuse or complimentary, I asked the manager to contact me but she did not!! We would like some refound because of not having a functional room until 9 pm and a much smaller room with one queenbed instead of two. We paid for a large room with two quennbed and shoul have a refound for the price difference. I would never recommend this guest house to anyone, bad service and very old bathrooms and also many steps to reach the rooms!

Wonderful stay, staff was very friendly!

I always enjoy staying at this property. Location is great and the staff is friendly. Rooms are nice sized and decorated period.

This is a great property with some minor hiccups that can easily be corrected.
We have arrived a bit early and found the property door locked with a note ' running errands, pls call this number'. Husband left message at number, we decided to go visit nearby museum until 3pm. Received no callback about our message, but were back at the property door at 315pm and found it closed again, with no doorbell. (So: install doorbell??) Eventually we got in, the front manager, the lovely Denise explained why they keep that door locked, checked us in and all was good.
Our room was on the top floor: if you are older, be aware there is no elevator, be sure to request ground floor room. It was charming, splendid decor, very comfortable beds, with clean and spacious bathroom. Again, be aware that the commode is set kind of low: this didn’t pose an issue for us but may be for some.
Wifi: it works downstairs without a hitch, on top floor keeps cutting out constantly. There may be a need for a router extender, as there is no TV watching without it.
Restaurant on property is CLOSED Monday and Tuesday for dinner, which we didn't realize until there. Breakfast is of course offered and it is tasty and plenty with great service; I really appreciated that the yogurt was unsweetened and plain, and the pancakes were soft and fluffy.
The decor through the house is top notch, very full of thoughtful little touches.
All in all, recommending this property for stays in Natchez.

This was the 2nd time we stayed at the Guest House. We enjoyed our stay an will stay there again when we are in Natchez.

The staff (especially Denise, the lovely lady who checked us in) were very friendly and welcoming. The Inn (including the room) had some older features that gave it character. Great location in town and nice to have a restaurant on the premise.

In the heart ofvold natchez in walking distance of multiple sites
4.5
Small home like hotel within walking distance of everything in the downtown area.

Denise, the general manager was friendly and accomadating to our needs. The breakfast was outstanding and all the staff friendly. If you like history and a step back into another era then you will enjoy your stay. It is a refreshing change from the typical "ho hum" hotel stay.
4.5
Kind of like being at Grand ma's house. Fuzy tv...slow hot water...bed very comphy...coffee left a metalic taste in my mouth all day...no dedicated motorcycle parking...
4.5
I was disappointed, they changed my room to the ground floor which was noisy, the feel of the place is more like just an old hotel and not one of the grand mansions you see around the city.
4.5
The property was excellent!! Clean and comfortable. Friendly staff. Only thing I did not like is the window where the AC unit is installed, there is no way to close the curtain to make the room totally dark.

Denise greeted us with the most generous southern hospitality! Because of her and is beautiful home, we booked another night. The walk by the Mississippi during sunset was incredible.
4.5
We loved the hotel! Denise is an amazing person! She even called after we left as she didn’t get to tell us goodbye. The staff at breakfast was very helpful.
The only problem was that I didn’t realize we had to walk upstairs to a room and my daughter has health issues. Next time we will know.

The accommodations, atmosphere, and staff were amazing. I would definitely stay at The Guest House again!

I am writing this review a week late because I forgot to write it last week. To be honest, I have never written a review; but, I must acknowledge the members of the staff at The Guest House Historic Mansion because they went above and beyond to ensure a great visit for my family. They truly showed southern hospitality.
There was an issue with the toilet in the wee hours on the night before my checkout. My 8 year old grandson resolved the issue, and there was no need to notify anyone at the moment. I did mention the issue during checkout, and the front desk personnel apologized for the situation. I told her no apology was necessary. But a few hours later, I received another apology when the general manager (who was not working during my checkout) called me about the toilet situation.
I truly appreciated the staff at The Guest House Historic Mansion!

It was an amazing visit. The bed was comfortable and the room was lavishly decorated. Not only was I given a bottle of wine with which to relax, but I had a veranda to sip coffee on and there was also a courtyard to sit outside in! A last minute booking, but Denise made sure that everything went smoothly, and that I was completrly comfortable. The entire mansion was gorgeous, the furnishings ornate, and the service was impeccable. Breakfast was equally delightful! I can't wait to book a longer stay in the future!

We loved The Guest House! Service was great, room was clean, location was great, and breakfast was great! We would definitely stay there again!

Booked the lowenberg room downstairs on Expedia specifically but when I arrived, they gave me another room upstairs so definitely not happy about that. AC didn’t work in one room so was transferred to another. Rooms were very nice and loved sitting on the porch but upstairs door to porch broken so had to go back stairs and a little unsafe but ok. Absolutely loved the atmosphere and history. Clean and quiet and comfortable beds and felt safe. Will come again and hopefully get the room we book. Maybe use direct booking to ensure correct room. Staff nice.

Very nice people, breakfast was great and my room was beautiful.

Pretty place.

The staff was helpful and accommodating in every way. The restaurant food is excellent. Loved being able to work into the city from this central location.
4.5
Front desk staff was sloppy. They provided me a room key to an occupied room that caused me to wake up two guests. The next room provided had electrical problems. Then after check out I was double billed for my room. And despite being assured by hotels.com and the hotel I would be reimbursed, two weeks later still nothing.
There are too many nice hotels in Natchez to have to deal with this.
4.5
Great location, but carpet is dirty and the mattress could have been replaced. Everything else is just old the way you would expect a house that was built in 1840 to be.
4.5
Room was lovely with very tall ceilings. Wear expected with a vintage building. Could forgive a lot for the experience except for the fact that the bed was very tall. I’m 67 years old and 5’4” and could not get on the bed. I finally scooted the chair from the desk over so I could use it to boost myself up. A step stool would have been appropriate for anyone under 5’7” who can’t climb like a monkey. Asking for help from the staff would have meant dressing and walking down two flight of stairs and hope someone was at the desk. Otherwise interesting experience.
4.5
The property has so much history and each room is different. Very comfortable property. The restaurant was great.
4.5
We initially booked a King room but upon arrival the room had some serious issues. Toilet was extremely loose at the base, the room smelled of mold/mildew (upon inspection of window a/c unit we saw were it was coming from), and the bed severely sloped downward from foot to head. We were fortunate to be able to secure a smaller Queen room on the balcony that worked for us. Unfortunately we still don't have any reimbursement for the room change. While the mansion/hotel is interesting in a historic way; it's definitely in need of repair and general upkeep. I'm sure there are better options in Natchez at a similar price point. We'll look elsewhere on our next visit.

Excellent check in. Very professional and kind lady at the front desk. The room was beautiful with four huge windows looking out onto the front and side porch. The bed was very comfortable. The porch had many rocking chairs and I enjoyed them immensely. It was a great place to meet the other guests. The breakfast was the best hotel breakfast I have ever had. It was made after I turned in my order. The waitress was so nice and she made me feel right at home. The hotel is downtown near everything. I have found my go to hotel in Natchez.
4.5
There was no one at desk when I checked in. Breakfast didn't start until 8am.
I'd stayed here previously and understand that the new owner is just taking over. I think that things will get better with time and am willing to try once again. I visit Natchez monthly.

Absolutely beautiful property and quiet historic charm
4.5
While the setting and building are historic, the facilities are tired and in need of routine maintenance. The staff was excellent however
4.5
Very interesting property with a lot of charm! The staff was excellent, especially Denise ( the general manager) and the waiter in the restaurant. Both of these individuals went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was more than enjoyable! And… the icing on the cake was the breakfast. It was nothing short of outstanding. What a way to start each day. Very nice property, excellent staff and great service. The property has some deferred maintenance but it is overshadowed by the grace and charm of the staff !!!
4.5
Was great….. very friendly people…. Location was fantastic…. Spent first day just walking to the different sites, with the second day driving to a few sites further way.
4.5
The breakfast at the property is excellent. Love the location.
4.5
Small things that weren’t enough to dampen our stay included a bedside lamp that had no power source (but looked pretty) a TV remote that fresh batteries didn’t revive and a check in and housekeeping staff that weren’t happy with each other and let it show unprofessionally. Dinner was awesome 👍
