It was much too expensive for what it was. Ordinary hotel, ordinary bathroom, inconvenient to enter and exit.

This was my first time at Hilton Garden Inn in Providence, as my business trip was last minute, and my regular hotel (Graduate by Hilton Providence) had nothing available that night. I assumed that another Hilton hotel would be comparable, considering the fact that the room cost $570, which was considerably more than Graduate ever charged me. I was very wrong. Upon arrival, we could not figure out how to enter the parking lot, as there is multiple entrance bars, and after parking car, we were confused how to enter the hotel, as we were now in the basement. The check-in was simple enough, but upon entering our floor, we discovered our room was not facing the water, as we had booked, but the freeway, and the rear garbage bins. There was a bad smell from the hallway, that continued into the room, pubic hair in the bathtub and beds. The space between beds and counter was not wide enough for 2 people to walk past at the same time. The noise from the freeway all night was too loud for my son to get any sleep. We couldn't wait to leave in the morning, where we were told that the hotel parking lot is not complimentary for guests paying $500+ for the night, but another $15 was expected. Next time, it will only be Graduate hotel again. I will book my trip around finding an available room. Never again.

The front desk service is awesome but the maintenance is just so unprofessional. My blackout curtains were broken and couldn’t be lowered using the remote control, the curtain rod was also faulty. They sent two different technicians to fix it, but they neither solved the problem nor offered a solution before leaving. Their attitude was good, but I want the issue resolved. (I mean at least give me something to clip the decorative curtain together so I won’t be woken up by the sunlight at 5 am!) So I decided to try fixing the problem myself again (and if I failed again I’m gonna contact the front desk to change rooms). Fortunately, after tinkering for almost twenty minutes, I discovered it was just a contact issue with the connection cable and finally managed to lower the curtains. Now I’m not sure if I’m the fool or the maintenance staff are the fools. Maybe I should quit my current job and apply for a maintenance position here.

There was an error made when I made our reservations on line, so I had to make additional reservations in order to grt what I needed. While here, we had to check out and check back in again - ridiculous! In checking in, the clerk blamed me for the mix up - not true - and offered nothing to make things smoother. Pricing for original booking and the second differed by $100 for the night - more ridiculous ! I won't even go into how bad the service was getting breakfast. I can't believe this is really a Hilton hotel.

Hotel was clean, great view from the bar area, and courteous staff.

It would’ve been nice to have free parking included with the reservation OR breakfast. The hotel wasn’t super dirty but I found stains on the toilet which grossed me out. If it wasn’t for that, I would’ve gave it a 5 star.

Have stayed before as convenient to Al Forno ( still FAB- had din on patio)...great service!

Great local stay for the East Side of Providence & Brown University - easily walkable and nice brewery nearby.

be warned, this hotel nearly sits on the freeway. You can’t escape the sound of traffic. The pictures are deceptive. Though there are rooms that face the water, miraculously, the hotel was sold out and therefore, only rooms that looked at the trash were available…..for the same price.

My first choice when in Providence, which is often. Love the location ( Brown and RISD)..great water view too. Excellent jumping off point for the East Bay Bike Trail, a beautiful 28 mile round trip to Bristol and back. Lots of good food options in nearby Fox Point.

This was our second stay at this property. Staff was friendly and helpful. Check-in was uneventful. The room was quiet and clean. The bed was comfortable and the view of the Harbor was great. Three items that made the experience a bit disappointing this time: breakfast is charged and it appears to have variable rates from day to day; parking is charged not free; our room fridge was so high in its temp regulation that it exploded our drinks. Not sure why a ticket is required when arriving for parking since at checkout it seems to make no difference. I think that a discounted parking would have been great since our drinks got ruined. Did alert staff upon checking out.

The property and the staff was very nice and clean it was located in a very rural area close to everything so overall it was a good experience

Its a very nice hotel, but at 250/night the continental breakfast shouldn't cost $15/person.

Paying an additional 10% to park your car is always a turnoff. The gated parking gives an unfriendly atmosphere and suggests this is a rather poor part of town, despite the park right next door and the close access to Brown University campus. We made the mistake of going to the identically named Hilton Garden Inn just outside of town, 30 minutes away near the airport because GPS took us there (in horrendous traffic) and that was a much nicer place. Should rename one of them to avoid confusion (probably this one, since it's got quite the unfriendly non-Garden atmosphere).

Too much road construction in the area.

Great location to visit downtown Providence and our family southeast of Providence

The front desk was very friendly. The breakfast was horrible and not worth $18. The hostess at the restaurant was angry at an earlier customer. She was swearing and complaining about the customer to the other employees. She was doing this in front of us and the other people eating breakfast. Also hate the gated parking lot and the fact that parking is not free.

Everything was very good with this property other than the satellite dish not working and unable to watch the NFL playoffs.

We needed a place to stay during an urgent home plumbing situation. The Hilton Garden Inn was perfect for this. We particularly loved the bathroom: airy, understated. We would definitely recommend THGI to friends and family!

Hotel is clean and updated. Room had an odd noise throughout our stay. The location was great. Near gas stations and coffee. Pretty area to walk around. The breakfast staff wasn’t clear about the breakfast pricing and we were charged $20 pp. They had a sign to the right of the restaurant- closer to the registration desk that made it even more difficult to associate what that pricing was. Make sure you ask before you pick your breakfast options.
