The refurbished Cooden Beach is delightful and very comfortable. A dramatic upgrade.

This is a clean and comfortable hotel on the outskirts of Bexhill, with easy access to the beach. Friendly staff. Car parking (note that some of it is behind the hotel). Minor gripes? £4.20 for a mint tea is a tad expensive. The 'sea view' from our room was slightly disappointing - the view was partly obscured to the right by a wall. However, overall this was a pleasant stay, and we would return.

Lovely hotel with great position overlooking the sea. All staff were very helpful and friendly and service was good.
Room was very clean, quiet and had everything we needed.
Ate in the restaurant and the food was very good with a good choice .
Overall the hotel ticked all our boxes and we would certainly stay there again on our next trip

I'm sad I only stayed for one night. I stayed in a single room and it was such a peaceful night's sleep.
The shower was great and the room was spacious and had everything I needed.
Beautiful location on the seafront and the breakfast buffet was fab with plenty of healthy or classic choices.

Lovely quiet spot by the beach, for a newly refurbished hotel it was a bit tired in places, having just one menu lunch and dinner was disappointing if you want more than two meals. Coronation chicken sandwich and fresh fish specials were excellent.

Mixed feelings
Staff all seemed lovely…
really liked the bathroom, view, and we were upgraded and thank god we were…
its soooo noisy heard way more from next door than wanted and the extractor was uber loud and the doors.. extra loud.
nothing would have been resolved by complaining…. and i feel we had a great room just a very noisy place.
Breakfast team were sweet and the selection was plentiful..
what a location though…

Lovely get away stunning views was so nice to sit outside on the Terrace having a cream tea whilst looking at the sea. Best ever vegan cream tea I highly recommend! Staff friendly and accommodating. Room had beautiful views over the sea. Could walk straight onto the beach from hotel. Nice quiet location. Perfect to get away from if all. We didn’t use the spa but would love to next time.

We have dined at Cooden beach hotel many times but this was first time for overnight stay. We loved every minute as it was my husbands 88th and our 64th wedding anniversary. Will be visiting again very soon. Thankyou

I stayed a night with my mother, who is a wheelchair user. The staff, especially the manager who was on reception that day, and the housekeeper, were thoughtful and helpful in meeting my mother's needs. All other staff were friendly and efficient too. The rooms were clean, well appointed and suitable for our needs. My mother stayed in the wheelchair accessible room was great, but between there and the bar/restaurant were three sets of heavy doors and one steep ramp, which made getting there and back unnecessarily difficult. I would suggest the hotel fit soft/delayed-action door closers on this route and look at how the ramp could be made easier.

Enjoyable stay by the sea. Good hotel with a few quirks. Still undergoing development hence some areas rather sparse. Outside seating excellent and good views of sea. Dinner with good menu selections. Breakfast choices a little sparse particularly midweek. Would stay again.

I recently chose to stay at Cooden Beach Hotel, having known it for its high standards back in the 1980s when I lived nearby. I’m pleased to report that the hotel still offers the same good quality experience today. It’s reassuring that it has maintained its standards over the years.

A fantastic hotel in a unique location, but because we do not have a car, Cooden Beach (Southern) Railway station was only yards away together with the ease of hailing taxis to Bexhill-on-Sea.

Failed to be informed our room wasn’t available when checking in, put in another, with no say or word or apology.

We were disappointed with the general state of the bedroom, a high level of maintenance and dressing of bathroom was not met. Bathroom door was broken and there were faecal stains in the toilet. For the cost of the room, food and drinks I’d expect much better service and quality. We also did not like the fact the hotel was not exclusive to hotel guests only and therefore service on the terrace was poor and hotel guests like ourselves were not prioritised.

Good food, pleasant location, staff very attentive.

Beautiful hotel in immaculate condition and superb location. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wished it had been longer.

Very nice suite that we stayed in but general decor throughout hotel was very inconsistent and just very random with nothing actually matching .
Breakfast on first morning very good value and pleasant. 2nd morning being Sunday it was a buffet which was somewhat chaotic as hot food not being attended to and kept running out.

Great location right next to the beach, hotel was clean and staff friendly we opted for an accessible room which was spacious and even had a small balcony overlooking the garden and beach. Would definitely recommend. Breakfast buffet was excellent and food in the restaurant in the evening was good.

Lovely hotel situated right on the pebbly beach at Bexhill. The restaurant, bar and lounge were excellent. Food in the evening really good and served by helpfull and attentive staff. Our room did not have a sea view as expected and paid for, but was spacious and well appointed. The staff were really helpful with our bike and went out of their way to look after it and keep it safe. This much appreciated. Sadly we had an issue with the shower over the bath and would recommend anyone to be careful if staying in this room to avoid a fall. The receptionist was very good when we reported the incident but to date have not received any follow up from Management. However, we would not hesitate to stay at the hotel again but would request a shower cubical insead.

Excellent check in, we were quite early and the very help friendly reception staff took names and said they’d ask if the cleaners could prioritise our room. We went off to get a coffee on the lovely terrace looking out at the ocean and our room was ready before we’d finished our drinks.
The room was large, bright, comfortable and a nice very. Decent shower in large bathroom with nice toiletries and towels.
What let things down a bit was the breakfast. Very small Buffett and lots of things empty and took ages to get replaced. From the cost I expect something much better.
Great location, views, outside area and access onto the beach.

Very near to railway station and beach. Beautiful outside terrace area, helpful staff, tasteful decor inside hotel.

Nice room and very comfortable bed. Didn't use restaurant at all so can't comment further.

Nice hotel, lovely welcome. Shower gel smelt great! Bed was comfy. Given the high price of the room (over £200) I would have expected it to be bigger, it was only just bigger than the bed! Appreciate it is an old building so they are probably tight on space!

I enjoyed staying here. Easy to get to. Transport to get there available and easy. Location situated on the beach was lovely. Nice place to relax.

Room was nice although bathroom tiny. Bar/restaurant nice. Weather rainy so couldn’t enjoy terrace.
Breakfast luke warm, access to coffee refill by self service needed, as hard to get waiter’s attention.

Room was large and clean, service in dining/ bar was very slow

Still a nice hotel, but I would avoid rooms at the back, as yesterday, people were running around on the flat roof outside rooms last night. It might have been the one and only time this has happened, but a guests privacy, safety and security is paramount.

Enjoyed a nice weekend away,
Lovely Hotel with nice welcoming staff.
Comfortable bed and excellent washroom.
However my seaview room as advertised was only 20% of my view, we had the road that was loud at times and a block of flats to look at.
The decor was abit confusing and played with my tism.
The draught beer was flat and not nice and cold as a pint should be.
These are all little things that didnt make my good weekend perfect 👌
