Location is conveniently next to the station. All of the staffs were so kind and helpful, it made the check-in and check-out go very smoothly.

This hotel is centrally located, adjacent to Sendai Station. The room seemed a little dated- only one outlet available for charging phones and camera batteries. The staff were very polite and efficient. I would stay here again.

WOW. We stayed in a Japanese style room-- it was gorgeous and included a view of a garden (on the 6th floor). The room was super nice, shower was amazing.
And, it's proximity to Sendai station and shopping opportunities made it perfect for our stay.

Hotel situated at the station. Bus service underneath and a huge concourse makes getting around easy without having to cross the roads.
Very convenient for shopping and eating options. Lots of eateries within the station and department stores.
Bottled water provided every day which was most welcome. Very clean staff were friendly although English is limited. Recommend hotel stay.

Nice and clean room. Staff is friendly and helpful.

The hotel is very quiet despite being next to Sendai station. The location is very convenient for us as it is right next to the station and we had a 6plus am train to catch. The only confusing thing there are two hotels around the area with almost similar names and we went to the wrong one initially.
8.0
The property being right by the train station and the shopping area was convenient.

Go location for train or bus trips

Eventhough it is not the most modern hotel. But everything is on point and served the purpose. Would highly recommend to those intended to visit Sendai and are looking for a convenient location to stay.

Should have specify a non smoking room, given both rooms on smoking floor and cigarette smell is really strong so would suggest when making a booking do make sure to ask for non smoking rooms

This hotel is just right next to the Sendai train station. There are a lot of shopping malls and restaurants nearby. The bus station is a few steps away. It is a great location. Staff speak English and are friendly.

I enjoyed how close it was to Sendai Station and the staff were so friendly. I left them my luggage after checking out to explore the area more and they were more than happy to help accommodate.

Too old-fashioned for the location environment

Very close to the station, even connected via a shopping mall. The Japanese room was a great plus and let you feel that you're not in a Metropolitan city. Def recommend this!

The hotel is directly connected with Sendai station and S-PAL (department store). The hotel elevator has direct access to the restaurant area of the station. It also has fine dining options within the hotel. The convenience of this hotel can't be beat.

The Hotel Metropolitan Sendai (HMS) is immediately adjacent to the Sendai railway station. It may be a bit confusing to find. If you are arriving by train, use the West-Exit-JR, turn left and follow the sidewalk. The HMS is a classic upscale Japanese hotel. The staff is absolutely excellent, looking after your every need. The housekeeping was also excellent, as was the internet. The rooms are large by Japanese urban-hotel standards. There are some old-fashion practices, such as having a real room key attached to a fob (as opposed to an electronic card key). The HMS requests that you check the key at the front desk when leaving the hotel for the day. I can highly recommend the HMS. That said, the HMS is getting to the point of needing a refresh. There were no major issues - everything worked fine, was clean and well maintained, but the years do appear to be catching up. The HMS does not have a visible green policy. There were no recycle bins - only a notice to request that you reuse towels. There are a gazillion (!) places to eat within walking distance, including in the S-PAL mall attached to the train station and HMS. The subway entrance is directly in front of the HMS - could not be more convenient. Jogging from HMS is fine - the sidewalks are wide and passable, but no large parks close by. Due to my travel schedule I took runs late at night and in the pre-dawn, and felt very safe.

This hotel is really nice for the price and location. It's conviently located right near the train station. The staff were friendly and the room was extremely comfortable. Excellent temperature control and soundproofing which was necessary for rest and comfort. I highly recommend staying at this hotel when visiting Sendai.

The property is well known in Sendai and very visible from Sendai station. Easy to access. The hotel itself was fine, but we felt that we paid quite a lot for the name rather than anything better than other more economical hotels in Japan. Check-in staff were very curt and not as friendly or engaging as I’ve come to expect from Japanese hospitality services. Check-out was easy and the staff were friendlier than the afternoon/evening shift. The room was clean and comfortable with a pretty good view of the shops around Sendai station. We lived in Sendai for six years and chose to spend our last night at the Metropolitan before moving to Kansai thinking it would be a pretty exciting and nice way to close the Sendai chapter. Overall, we were underwhelmed and the treatment of the check-in staff left a sour taste that tinged the entire stay. I doubt we will stay there again upon subsequent visits to Sendai.

The hotel staff was so kind and accomodating. We happened to stay during the recent earthquake that resulted in damage to the hotel's water/sewage system, which left the hotel rooms without water. The hotel staff assisted us with moving to their sister hotel, Hotel Metropolitan East. They literally walked/escorted us over and we had a new upgraded room within 5-10 min. No hassle at all. Let me say this...if I had to pick a hotel to be at during an earthquake, it would Hotel Metropolitan Sendai! We definitely will be staying here every time we visit Sendai.
