Amazing room, service, friendliness, and very helpful!!! Highly recommend this hotel. It was a great area to walk shop and dine. Best hotel we have stayed in.

Excellent service, comfortable and clean.
Restaurant very good for buffet breakfast and good menu for other times in the day and evening.
Location perfect for Waterfront, easy walking distance, just 2 minutes.

The exec floor corner rooms offer an incredible view. Nice lunch and gym was well equipped. Room service was awful and despite saying it was awful I wasn’t offered a refund. Save your money and eat at the Time Out market really close to the hotel.

The property was lovely and we were going to return but unfortunately there was a problem with our bill and the hotels service and follow up was very poor. We spoke with several employees about adjusting out reservation even upon check-in. We were assured by multiple people it would not be a problem but upon check out discovered that it was never changed. We were charged for an extra night and were refused a refund. When this was escalated to a manager they said they would follow up because they had been in error and they never did and so the issue was not resolved. No accountability.

God service

The hotel deco is dated, service is so-so as i don't feel welcoming at all. Take-away coffee at breakfast is chargable

It met my hygiene standards, I’m fussy about cleanliness and they won my heart.
The food in this place is exceptional. Compliments to the chef(s).
My beau and I had an excellent time.
Maintenance should step up. House keeping should also maintain a checklist of items so that they don’t forget to replenish items.
Overall, it is a quality facility.

Excellent location with easy walk to aquarium and shops. Just ask concierge for the shortcut through the grounds. Excellent food service and valet. Speedy and caring. Housekeeping was sweet to make our room special for our anniversary too!

The staff were very friendly, helpful, kind and accommodating. The location was great - walking distance to the waterfront. The transport company working with the hotel provided excellent service at very affordable prices, their office is around the corner from the hotel!

Would highly recommend the hotel.

Extremely bad experience. The hotel turns into a brothel in the night hours. The room itself is very loud due to the old AC unit. When confronting the hotel management about the escorts around the hotel, they immediately offered to refund my stay. Unfortunately that never materialised.

Great hotel and excellent location

Excellent choice for a hotel. It is a 2 minute walk to the V & A harbor but you are out of the hustle and bustle and noise of the harbor. The junior suite was spacious with nice extra touches like cookies and a welcome chocolate on the pillow. They replaced linens every day and water bottles. The breakfast buffet was excellent with hot choices like made to order eggs, excellent fresh fruit and pastries as well as many other things. We ate dinner one night at the hotel and it was excellent. The staff was excellent. So friendly and helpful and always smiling.

We enjoyed our stay. We were there 3 nights. The beds were comfortable, clean rooms, Hotel restaurant had an amazing breakfast buffet and dinner was also good. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and would prepare a to go breakfast for our early morning adventures. we felt safe going out and walking to the store or to the waterfront. We would stay there again.

It's close to the V&A area within walking distance, very convenient. Staff is professional and friendly. Food at the restaurant is surprisingly good.

Nice to be near wharf and dining. Nice in house dining. However rooms and hallway are old fashioned with no smart TV and less than adequate outlets and no standard irons and ironing board.

You’re greeted with a warm smile. Very clean property and close to everything. All the staff are super nice, helpful, and willing to help with you anything. Especially at the front desk Andile, he helped my family with any questions, upgrading or any accommodations I needed. This location is perfect to the shops, harbor and have taxis readily available at the front door. Property was super clean and breakfast in the morning was scrumptious. My kids played in the pool, it was clean. I’d definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

Great location by central V&A wharf with nice room facing the harbor and nicely appointed

Most of the staff was excellent in being helpful with information. My bathroom looked clean except for one area behind the toliet. Room nice comfortable.bell men were very helpful in all aspects including storing luggage while going to the water port. Breakfast was excellent, bagels and cream cheese woukd be a nice addition to go with the other foods. Excellent variety of fresh fruits of many kinds. I was told all hotels turn off air for about 2 hours, the room got warm and I woke up early due to no air, from 4:00A.M. Till shortly after 6:00 if all hotels have this rule to follow it is what it is. I would strongly recommend this hotel and would stay again.

Location was fantastic so close to V & A Waterfront, yet on a quiet street. Room was very clean and comfortable. Staff were always friendly and helpful. The breakfast was the highlight of the day with so much variety of fresh and tasty offerings.

Unfortunately the only positive thing about The Commodore is the location. If you like rock hard beds (literally sleeping on the floor would be better) and bad pillows then this is the place for you.
The service just wasn’t there for us. Of the 4 nights we were there on three of the days the valet brought out the wrong car for us so we had to wait long periods for our car. It was a plus this was included in our stay but it was never efficient.
We had an awful experience at 1.30am with room service knocking on our door to deliver us food. We didn’t order the food and were fast asleep to be woken but them and tell them we didn’t order. After we had finally fallen asleep our phone rang at 2am and it was the room service lady accusing us of lying and saying that we did order room service and why did I send it away. She couldn’t accept that she had made a mistake and recorded the wrong room and ending up hanging up on me. 15 minutes later she called and hung up again. Complaining to the manager the next day, all we received was an apology and that they had a lot of new staff on, it’s not acceptable to be woken at that time and then accused of lying.
Do not stay at this hotel, it was an awful experience for us in Cape Town, the only good thing was the location but there are others around.
