Stay here if all othet possibilities are exhausted.

The hotel was clean and served it’s purpose. If you’re just looking for a clean place to sleep and shower then this place is for you. There was nothing extra and the price was good. They charge you $5/day for wifi if you want it and they also charge a daily fee for a safe as an option. The staff was friendly and helpful.

First i would like to make clear that the staff was wonderful. They went above and beyond to help me with anything I needed.
That being said. The stay for the most part was poor.
First hot water is sporadic. The first two days i was there i took cold showers. It wasn't until the third day when i was ready to take a bath in the hot tub when the hot water finally came out of the foset in my room. Then on the fifth day. I woke up in the morning and there was no water at all in my room.
Also, they charge for the use of internet in the hotel. Twenty-five dollars a week. To go with that. You are continually automatically signed out of the network. I ended up using mostly mobile data while on the resort. Now my phone bill is outrageous!
Lastly, the charge to use the room safe. Another Twenty-five dollers a week..
I had paid an extra forty dollars per day for an all inclusive stay. But they still found ways to squeeze extra fees from me.
I would not recommend staying at this resort.
While the surrounding scenery way beautiful. The lack amenities and comforts were far less then what i expected when i paid good money for this poor experience.

The hotel has an excellent view and breakfast. Very nice for family and couples.
However, you have to pay $5 per day for Wi-Fi internet access.
The hotel doesn’t allow guss to visit you in your room only in the lobby or pay double bill for the room it doesn’t matter how long.

This is one of the best resort I have ever been to. The staffs were very professional. The resort has very beautiful views. The breakfast was the best. I would gladly revisit and recommend this place to anyone. I just didn’t like the fact that I had to pay $5 every day for WiFi when the listing says free. Great place and staff overall!!!

This is a cute hotel that has a stunning view of the ocean and has pretty easy access to the beach. The hotel is steps away from the beach but be careful as you walk down since the rail is broken once you reach the bottom of beach. This is the kind of hotel you book when you are on a budget- rooms are clean and there is a very big pool. Breakfast is included. The bathrooms need a bit of an upgrade (there were nicks in tub) - not a huge deal but for those who are a little picky might be turned off. Plus the shower head is not on the wall. I should also mention that I left a couple days early and REQUIRED me to pay those days on reservation even though I didn't stay the remaining days. They used an excuse about me paying through expedia. I don't buy it. I am on the fence if I would stay here again.

I had to buy a package for the internet... which was a first for me. But it wasn’t a lot , But it kept shutting down on me the first 2 days . But the rest of the time it worked. The staff were very good, the pool beautiful, the room was very clean , bed was a firm mattress which was great for my back , ac was the coldest, The hotel it’s self is a little outdated but with the pandemic I could say all the hotels I’ve stayed At in the last year have reduced the maintenance a little, but overall I would definitely come back again

Awful.. I decided to loose my money since I had all ready paid for the night instead of saying there with my son. The hotel was empty and I did not feel secure plus despite paying 160$ when I get there , I was told that only breakfast was included NOT recommended

Sosua has in international reputation as a party town…where singles can usually expect to find company. Don't bother staying at this hotel if you are expecting to bring any company to your room. They have a strict policy that, of course, they neglected to tell me anything about until after I checked in and tried to bring my date back to the hotel. I packed at that point and had to carry my bag in the dead of night the two long an dangerous blocks that separate this hotel from the rest of Sosua…The room was dingy and they would not refund my 4 days i had booked in advance using this website. I will not use this booking service or recommend this hotel to anyone.

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights, and I was dissapointed. Since the very first moment I get in, I knew something it was not right.
The room was clean, little old but clean, the air conditioned was not good, there were not fan, we went out for that night and report it. They promised they would fix by the time I come back but it did not happen,
Next day, I was moved into another room with better AA. As far as drinks, there is only one bar for the whole complex, with very limited selection.
As far as the food, the worst!! they food is really terrible and hope is a coincidence; but some pork they served for dinner, it was served at lunch next day.
I would not returned for any reason ever.

I enjoyed our trip to Sosua by the Sea very much. The Boutique Hotel was just that; small, quiet, not overly crowded. IF you are looking for a lot of other guests to meet, party with, this is not the place for you. If you are traveling with a partner and want a quiet place to relax this is a great place! We were not there during the busy season, so it was VERY quiet, but if you were there during their high time, I'm sure it speeds up a bit. I enjoyed being able to go into the town where there was a lot of people and action, but having the hotel to come back to.
The town of Sosua itself is quite an experience. The posts about the prostitution are correct and it is females looking for American men. It was a bit frustrating that prices on everything went up because we were gringos and the prices on the buses and cabs would be exorbunt due to that. Just be careful and don't accept first price given.
All in all, an enjoyable, quiet, relaxing trip with a great beach and beautiful weather.

LOCATION WAS KOOL...BUT FOR THE MONEY UR BETTER OFF STAYING NEXT DOOR AT CASA MARINA..

For the price this hotel does not meet expectations. It is not a resort, it's a hotel. It has potential to be a really great place but there is not enough attention to the small things that would make it better. The grounds are very nice, but maintenance inthe rooms was lacking.

Sousa by the Sea is a pleasant hotel 20 minutes from the Puerto Plata Airport (you can hear the planes directly overhead). The staff is friendly & helpful, the pool is large with lots of chaise lounge chairs, the beach is small. The all inclusive meals are a deal, lots of fresh fruit, buffets, etc. The dining area is on a deck looking out at the sunset over the Atlantic Ocean. The hotel appears a bit worn (chipped shower tiles for example), but this is a lovely place to stay for a restful, quiet vacation.
3.2
Sosua by the Sea is not a Four Star hotel. It's more like four quarter stars that add up to one star.
The food is beyond description. It's insipid, unsanitary and down right disgusting. A typical dinner menu consists of Beef, Steak, rice cooked in butter, overcooked vegetables drowned in butter, salad...wait, not your average salad, cabbage and random salad dressings. If you wish to have a beverage, treat yourself to several versions of super sweet Tang or bottled water in an unsealed bottle.
In short, I would consider staying at the hotel again, but, would never eat on there.

I just got back from a pleasant 4 day getaway at Sosua By The Sea. Pros: The country is gorgeous and the weather is perfect. The hotel is close enough to shops, restaurants and bars, but far enough away to feel away from it all. The rooms are modern and airy with plenty of space. Our suite had a small refrigerator, perfect for chilling the loads of bottled water that we needed (no drinking or brushing your teeth with the tap water in DR). The staff is friendly and accommodating. The drinks are strong. Whoa are they strong! There is also a PADI dive shop on site. I cannot stress enough how quiet and peaceful the hotel is. Do not come here if you want a party scene or if you have kids who want entertainment and water slides. There is none of that here. Cons: Our bedroom and sitting room were great, but our bathroom needed help. A new tub, tile, grout and a new shower curtain would go a long way. There was no clock in the room, either. I do not need a schedule on vacation, but I do like to know what time it is when I wake. The only MAJOR COMPLAINT I have about my stay was the food. If it does not improve, it is the one single reason that I will not return. The quality was lacking, and the repetition was gut-numbing. Were it not for the fact that this was a short trip, I would have wound up in a war of words with the hotel management about it. I would love to return to Sosua By The Sea, but I will not until I hear that the food has improved.

Beautiful hotel and lovely staff! Close to everything, but quiet and private as well. The private beach is beautiful, and then a short walk around to the public beach with other restaurant and various water sports to be involved in. The food was great, but there are also great restaurants around. Joseph's Grill Grape was one of the best meals I had in the DR. Not included in the all inclusive, but well worth it! I now understand why so many people come back to this hotel every vacation!

A very nice small resort with some of the ammenities of a larger resort. A quiet place, nice pool area, right on a small beach and next to a larger beach which Casa Marina/Reef hotel is on-great waves! We just had the buffet breakfast which was good. They changed it up a little each day.The staff were very friendly and helpful. It's an easy, fun walk into town to the many bars, restaurants and shops.
The only negatives I came up with was the lack of dressers in the rooms, the need for some type of drying racks for wet clothes/swim suits and the rooms weren't very soundproof-tough sleeping in late!

I loved the hotel staff, they were very helpfull, very nice, i love the peace of being by the beach, a perfect place to rest, to find yourself or just a place for you to enjoy with your mate, i loved sosua by the sea i would definetely recommend it and will be back next summer
