The view! The view!

The hotel is just ok. Really nothing special. The staff were not rude, but I didn't find them to be particular warm and they were not terribly friendly to my Moroccan friend who was traveling with me. The bed options are limited if you are friends traveling. Either share a double bed or make due with a single bed each.

Dosnt worthy to be 5 stars hotel.. 3 stars outside.. 2 star indoor

Les Merinides sits on a hill looking over the medina(old city). Worth it to get a medina view and balcony as I had. But even if you don't there is a large terrace you can lounge on to enjoy the view.
The staff was wonderful as was the dining.
The hotel itself is old and therefore a bit dated, with some peeling paint and slow plumbing, but this did not detract from my stay.
It was too cold to swim but the pool was inviting and the lounge chairs were great for reading.
Also its a short drive or slightly longer walk to the medina, so nicely located.
Just a note for coffee and tea lovers-none in the room.
I would stay here again.

Excellent hotel with wonderful views of the Medina. Great service and food in the restaurant. Spacious and comfortable room, but no double-glazing so noisy at night (dogs barking, cats fighting, Muezzin calling, cock crowing etc.). Check-out was slow because it took time to correct 2 anomalies on our bill.

One phrase: VERY OUTDATED!!! This would never deserve even a motel status in United States. The only good part is the view to the whole city. The staff is nice and friendly but the place need full remodeling. Broken curtains, old doors, hard as wood mattress... few things to mention. I wish owners of such historic properties will try to invest in renovation.

Attentive staff. Very helpful. Good Moroccan food. And delicious olive bread and fresh dates for breakfast! Carvary dinner. Some great paintings to buy at the hotel. Stunning view of Fes from the hotel!

Our stay was pleasing as the hotel’s main attraction for us was the hilltop location with city views. The room we had was OK and bathroom sink drain and shower head were an issue. The buffet in food was limited for our vegetarian needs, but staff accommodated special requests. The adjacent historic view point/monument was easy to walk to and we saw an amazing sunset with city view below. Only wish the cars/motorcycles were not allowed to drive into historic spot as they ruin the expereicnce. Staff and services were pleasing.

Found broken glass on carpet so cleanliness could improve. We were allowed to sit at a balcony upstairs which was really nice and private. Sometimes food at breakfast ran out but staff would bring more when asked.

Great hotel with very nice staff and outstanding view to the medina from the pool only...!!! There is nothing outside the hotel as you need to get a taxi to go anywhere or within 15min walk to Bab Boujloud...!!! As I say great hotel to enjoy the pool area and the views during summertime...!! It was great to talk with Omar from restaurant during my stay !!

Writing from my room now, a diner in 3rd floor that's not letting sleep because of noise coming from moving tables and chairs for couple hours now.
Room is hot like....and AC is centrally off because they thought we dont need that in spring.
Furniture is ooooooold.
For all this you still have to pay a quite expensive price to stay here. My first and last for sure.

This hotel had beautiful views of the city of Fez. Especially at sunrise/ sunset times when the city was bathed in the orange glow of light and many different species of birds were flying around . The hotel has a lot of Moroccon items in it which were interesting to look at. During our stay there was an exhibition of some paintings which we enjoyed. It was also a quiet place to stay and during the day we were able to sit outside and look at the lovely views of the city and of the well maintained hotel garden.
The room was big and the bed was comfortable.
The hotel has restaurants but there were no other restaurants or shops within a 5 to 10 min of the hotel. They also don't have a shuttle service into the city.
The breakfast was OK but not 5 star quality. Some of the bread items were good but others were not. The water for the tea was not warm and the boiled eggs were cold as well but the staff fetched more hot water for the tea.

This is a very nice hotel with a lovely staff. Clean and comfortable. Good restaurant. It would be nice to have a healthy cereal choice at breakfast, such as muesli or Raisin Bran.

We decided to have a dinner at a different hotel on the night of the arrival. We finished at around 11 pm and there was no taxi to take us back to Les Meridines. At the hotel where we had dinner we were suggested to call Les Meridines so they could send a taxi for us, but NOBODY was picking up a phone at Les Meridines. We were trying for about 40 minutes. Once we made our way back to Les Meridines we found that the guy on duty was simply sleeping and wasn't picking up any phone calls. Funny - the next day they told that they had problems with their phone line. Go figure out!

It is true that, as previous reviews mentioned, the rooms and pool are a little bit dated but this is more than made up for by the charming atmosphere and wonderful service. The view from the terrace in the evening overlooking the lights of Fes while listening to the synchronised adhans from the city mosques is a memory that will stay with us during the cold winter nights back home! A special mention for Mohammed at the front desk for his genuinely warm and humble welcome and for Azzeddine who took such good care of us on the terrace every evening. Keep up the good work, and well be back soon inchaAllah!

The hotel is very cozy with a nice view on the mounting. Breakfast is delecious and the hotel is recommended in fes, whereas, Fes city is Boring and a stop between chefchauen and marrakesh so it was a good choice to select les merindes to enjoy our stay.
