Excellent, quirky Hotel, real gem. Forget chain hotels, this is a super overnight very central facility, corner shop for supplies opposite. Laid back Art Deco styling....

Love the cozy atmosphere. Staffs were very friendly!

The room was clean, the room service was good, and the staff was awesome. Definitely 5*. My only nitpicks is that the place was a little warm.

The cocktail hour with small bites was especially enjoyable.

Lovely boutique hotel with friendly staff! A nice gem if you are looking for something different than the "name brand" hotels.

This cute boutique hotel is located in the heart of center City Philadelphia. Like everything else in center City, it's old but it's clean and the staff is super friendly. For my purposes it was incredibly conveniently located.

This was a wonderful and ecletic place to stay. It close to Broad St. and the neighborhood had plenty of shops and restaurants. There was even a corner shop just across the street from the hotel.

Everything and everyone were great ,I'll be staying there again.if I head back to Philly.

I enjoy older, historic properties, and this hotel fit the bill. It was within walking distance to many restaurants, shops, and Philadelphia sights. Given the location, the hotel was pleasantly quiet. The evening social was a nice touch. Bed was a bit hard for my taste. There was only one person working breakfast, so foods were replaced slowly. Given the age of the hotel, the hot water was a little slow and inconsistent. The hotel was kept quite warm, so we had to run the noisy a/c unit in our room for a quite a while to get comfortable.Just be prepared for a little quirkiness.

The hotel itself is fine, the room was the smallest room I’ve ever stayed in my life.

My stay was very comfortable I came here after a calm night out with a couple buddies. The concierge Selina was very sweet and looked out for me. I booked a queen with a city view and it was nice and roomy, plenty of pillows and breakfast in the morning. I accidentally heard check out was at 12 instead of 11 so I checked out at 11:40 by mistake but everyone was nice and understanding. I like the aesthetic, even though it was in center city the area is within a busy-calmer area which I liked about that too. I’d definitely stay again!

Nobody around when we tried to check in at 9pm. Eventually, somebody showed up to help. Get to the room and the key doesn't work - go back to front desk and nobody there again. The breakfast is very poor - mainly stale bagels and pastries. Room is small, dated, and has poor sound insulation to adjacent rooms and general building noise. The only positive is the location is good and central. Not what I would expect for a 3 star hotel

Hair on pillow, hairs in bed, stain on carpet, old looking, hard spotted brown towels, lackluster AC, teeny television with bad picture, plug far from bed under table, and creepy vibe. Thanks.

Very charming rooms and lobby area. The hotel has an everyday vine and tapas tastning/event in the Main lobby. And its free of charge !

Nice hotel clean and friendly

Not good at all. Not informed of a parade that would be going on when I booked my trip which consisted of Police, Fire trucks, city workers setting car alarms off at 3:30am and then continued to tow every car right out side my room. Could not get any sleep due to water pipes banging all day and night for my entire stay. Staff was nonexistent. Never again!

I loved the Alexander Inn. I appreciated the breakfast choices and especially loved the complimentary wine and cheese in the evening. I want to thank receptionist Selena especially for her hospitality and for helping me feel so welcome at the property.

Stay was fine. Breakfast had only strawberry based yogurt. My wife is allergic to strawberries so she couldn’t have yogurt. You should have more than one flavor of yogurt.

Highly recommended, this botique hotel has a good location, comfortable rooms, a tasty breakfast included, and a great staff: welcoming, friendly, professional, knowledgable about the neighborhood and city events and services.

Great location, friendly staff. Toilet ran on and off all night, making sleep very difficult.

The front desk attendant was amazing ..she helped us with directions to parking...and made suggestions because our vehicle was taller than the garage could handle...she was very helpful. The breakfast..even though simple..I could tell a lot of effort was put into making the space clean and tidy.

Great service, nice people. TV was difficult to operate with remote, needs replaced. Room smelled musty/old but the property is old. Very nice staff. Great location

The Alexander Inn was very cozy and clean. Selina and the rest of the staff were all fantastic!

Great location. Everything to see is within walking distance. Felt safe at night. The bathrooms are a little small. The building is dated but has a charm about it and it is clean and well maintained. Staff is very friendly but at night it was different to find anyone at the front desk. Really enjoyed our visit.

We loved our room with the beautiful view. Clean, comfortable and charming. Friendly staff. Great location! Thank you!

Pros: location, friendly staff, free breakfast
Cons: uncomfortable mattress, noise (you can hear people talking in the room next door, shower running and even footsteps above you AND trash gets picked up outside at 3:30am).

Staff was very kind to me.

Great location. Love the old building and boutique hotel. Free continental breakfast was a nice surprise. Spent many nights in Philadelphia at different places, this is one of our favorites super walkable and nice safe area.
Only negative was night clerk on check in ( 7:30 pm) was distracted by his phone and smoking outside. Had to wait for him to come in for 5-10 minutes after he saw us walk past him to enter. Went upstairs after checking in minimal toilet tissue on roll ... no backup to be seen. Went down to desk no clerk. sign saying helping another guest....waited 5 minutes walked outside interrupted his smoking and phone and asked for a couple rolls of T.P he gave me 1. ??
Hotel is better than the service he provided
I attached a Pic of TP when we checked in.
Couple of service missteps but still love the Hotel

We liked the location as we could walk to most places we wanted to visit and the area felt safe. The breakfast and happy hour were lovely. The room size was very small and felt a bit claustrophobic at times and the shower design was a challenge as the floor got very wet.
We were on the 2nd floor in the front and the noise from the street kept us awake most nights, our first night there we didn't really sleep at all.
The safe in the room was a nice feature however a small refrigerator would have been nice to have as we constantly had to run out to the store to get cold drinks.
Overall it was a nice hotel for the money but if you prefer modern amenities definitely stay elsewhere.

The staff is top notch. The property is very charming. The front desk staff=Jay S.!!!!! And they offered both breakfast and happy hour=free.

This place is a little gem. Conveniently situated, and the staff is so attentive and warm! Plus, you get free snacks and a drink on arrival, and the pastries of the free breakfast are so fresh!

I like this hotel a lot and will stay here again. The room we had was clean and comfortable. The hotel staff were very nice and helpful. The neighborhood is fantastic with many great options for restaurants, bars and cafes.

Nice hotel for a short stay close to the city and public transport. Staff was excellent and they offered free wine and cheese in the afternoon which was nice, however hotel is very old. Breakfast selection is slim and limited to only cereal, breads, and yogurt and it would have been nice to have an ice machine on every floor and a microwave in the room. Otherwise, a pleasant short stay and staff was very helpful.

I was extremely disappointed to pay $518.36 for a two night stay in a tiny, dingy room. I have travelled the world and this is one of the most disappointing accommodation experiences I have ever had. I feel thoroughly ripped off. Never again.

Nice room. Good location. Not welcoming as in past visits. One night awakened by noise but no acknowledgement by management. Breakfast disappointing, unlike past visits. Charming old building, but overall experience disappointing.
