Very quiet place to stay away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Was easy to get to the bus and tram stations. Nice breakfast and evening light meal.

Beautiful old building…stunning actually. My room was tiny but that was expected. Loved all the food extras. Great place

Lovely hotel and great food

This property is absolutely beautiful in its classic charm. It is conveniently located to local transportation and harbor sites. The property offers 2 very good meals each day besides a hot beverage and sweet "happy hour".
The staff are all very friendly and on top of things.
The only beware I can offer is that a scented air freshener is piped into the common areas. For we with allergies to scents it eliminates the opportunity to use those common spaces. It is a quick walk through those rooms to the front door and the dining area where the air "freshener" stops.

Highly recommend this Clarion Hotel if staying in the Frogner area.. we were so glad to have stayed in Frogner when visiting Oslo because it was quiet, beautiful, but so convenient and perfectly easy to get into Oslo city center. It was walking distance to Frogner Park/Vigeland Park. The breakfast and dinner provided was absolutely delicious every day with extensive options for vegans/vegetarians/all eating needs. The property had great facilities like a gym and sauna too! We absolutely loved our stay here and would highly recommend to anyone visiting Oslo.

This is a nice hotel, beautifully decorated with friendly, hardworking staff. The rooms were clean and comfortable and service was excellent. We had booked two superior rooms as travelling with our children. Unfortunately during our stay there was construction work in the road taking place diectly outside our windows so we were woken very early both days by bucket diggers and gravel being poured, so not as restful as we had hoped. However it looked short term so if you are not travelling in the near future this shouldn't be a problem. The ritual toiletries in the bathroom were lovely. The hotel is a little way from the centre but only a short walk to this nearest tram stop and a pleasant 15min walk to Aker Brygger in the evening. Our biggest disappointment was vegetarians are not well catered for. On arrival we were told that dinner choices for the evening were chicken or meatballs. I asked about the vegetarian food and was told there was salad. So I had salad leaves and cold pasta with pesto and bread. The second night was meat chilli but chicken had been mixed in with the pasta salad so we couldn't even eat that so we ended up eating out in Akker Brygger which was expensive. We were disappointed with this as there was a sign in the dining room suggesting all diets would be accommodated and we had made it known we were vegetarian.
Other than that, this is an attractive hotel, with nice staff just not for us due to the food options and perhaps the distance out of town.

Another lovely stay in this hidden gem
Kanan (may have mispelt) the Chef is excellent and really friendly
The receptionist who checked us in (Dana Possibly) was full of smiles and efficency
All the staff were lovely, room in old part of the building was a nice size and overlooked the front
15 minute walk to centre of town, nice walk to the fjord, a tram stop around the corner
Cake at 3pm Fika
Supper if you choose to (ww only ate 1 night because we have so many restaurants we love)
Great quiet location we willbe back

Flott sted for overnatting i Oslo. Litt vanskelig å finne parkering. Ellers topp kvalitet på service, rom, frokost. Hyggelig personell.

Concept with fika and light dinner is amazing and the food and service was just fabulous.
Despite our room was tiny, we had all we needed.

Room was very small for four people. Lack of ventilation made room also stuffy and unnecessarily hot. Breakfast, afternoon snack and dinner were fantastic. Staff was very pleasant and helpful.

The included Fika (afternoon tea/coffee & snack), robust dinner as well as the delightful breakfast made the trip worthwhile. Everything tasted wonderful. There was a sense of calm and charm in the neighborhood. The rooms are beautiful, the lobby is scented with flowers and the seating areas are gorgeous!

Standard room was small and at night rather dark.
Our room 324 was by a stairwell, we could hear a noise and investigated. The stairwell was acting as a speaker for the laundry
Breakfast good as was the light evening meal. The chef who has a bald head was great, a real star, reception staff were all friendly and helpful
One of our favourite hotels still

Excellent service and food but the room was smaller than I have had before and the shower was difficult to use under the 4th floor eves.

Superb hotel. We stayed in the original building which had period features, but had evidence of modernisation (eg usb charging sockets).
It’s a way out of the city centre, but is a very short walk from the nearest tram stop, so getting around was easy.
The staff were well informed and offered plenty of tips and advice.
Breakfast had plenty of choice and was well stocked. The light evening meal offered more choice than expected and was more than enough to keep us going.
Would definitely recommend staying here.

They offer a so called small dinner - it’s very nice, as well the drinks and coffee. Nice place to stay

The old, traditional hotel I first experienced 40 years ago has been modernised and extended without losing any of its charm. Full marks for the ambiance, quality of food and service.

Great spot to stay for a more relaxed trip. Lovely older building (So rooms might not the most efficiently constructed), good and helpful staff.
Offering lovely breakfast, simpler but nice dinners and even afternoon snacks. Making it for a good stay if you plan to hang around the hotel quite a bit during your trip.
Located in a very quiet part of the city, with Trams and buses nearby and downtown in walkable distance.

Very nice looking hotel that is super close to a tram stop. There are restaurants and a couple convenience stores at the end of the block.
The hotel feeds us a lot. A very nice breakfast buffet plus a sweet treat in the afternoon and a pretty nice dinner are free every day. Coffee, hot chocolate and tea were available 24/7. Rooms are nice. Small but normal for Europe. Everything worked and there was little to no noise at all from outside. They have fans available too. I sleep best to fan noise and they can provide one.

In the middle of a neighborhood. Could walk to the port easily but a longer walk into the city center. Nice room.

Oslo is a very beautiful, walkable city. The hotel is not far from the waterfront, the Royal Palace, Vigeland Gardens or most museums. I liked that there was always hot coffee and tea, especially very early in the morning.

Gableshus is a lovely hotel that has undergone a facelift
Room was fine, like most Norwegian hotels the bed was a little soft for me but i got used to it.
The location is excellent short walks to the best indian in oslo , a destination reaturant, souli plas . National theatre is 15 mins walk (10 for me ) and the no 13 Trik (tram) is Round the corner
Itsa lovely quiet area minutes away from the centre of town
Only negative, breakfast can get busy, more so when its raining and the 30 or so outside seatscsnt be used.
They do also provide cake and coffee (Fika) at 3pm andan evening meal 6 to 8pm (we didn't try the evening meal)
Free coffee throughout the day too

In the few minutes it took us to check in, we got a parking ticket cus the car was on the street in front of the hotel. Then we were told the few parking spaces the hotel has are all full and its our responsibility to know theres no parking allowed on the street. Eventually one of the girls behind the desk went outside to help...the parking machine was around the corner and not in sight of the hotel! In other words, if you have a car, find a different hotel.

Very nice property and kind and helpful staff. However the wooden floor thresholds from one room to another ( dining area to reception) are slightly raised but no fluorescent tape or warning to watch your step. My friend took a hard fall when her sandal caught it. One cannot really see these and they are a tripping hazard. No safety bars or grab bars in bathroom for getting in and out of tub. Otherwise a very nice property.

We were appalled and laughing hysterically upon arriving to our room. Not only does the elevator not go up to the fifth floor, leaving us to haul our luggage up the stairs after a long train ride, but the rooms on the fifth floor feel as if they could have been left as an attic. My husband and I were on our honeymoon and did not find the room romantic at all. There was a beam running through the middle of it, causing us to bump our heads into it multiple times, and the bathroom was terribly small as well. The AC did not seem to work as well, making the room terribly hot and humid. We asked the front desk if they could put is into a different room and all they said was that they were completely booked and that they don't rent the fifth floor rooms out unless the hotel has no availability (we booked a month in advance). We DO NOT recommend this hotel, especially for couples on vacation.
As a positive, the dinner was okay and the breakfast was good. These are really the only redeeming qualities the place had to offer during our stay.
