Place is run down and the rooms smell like cat pee. Bare bones amenities (if you consider towels an amenity) and motel 6 would have been nicer.
Staff was friendly but that’s about it. Place is gross. If everything else around wasn’t booked solid we would have left immediately.

Very tidy place, close to practically everything. Not a bad deal, pool is nice.

What a cute set of 1950s bungalows. Perfect for a friends get away. Adult only which was nice. Pool and jacuzzi are open all hours. Theres a Bar area and BBQ great for gatherings. Private and small so it feels cozy rather than the larger resorts. Each bungalow has a nice size kitchen some have living rooms and dining rooms and private patios. Quite too as it sits away from busy Palm Canyon Drive. Cute neighborhood and 5 mins by car to Downtown Palm Springs, grocery stores and restaurants. Cant wait to come back for another stay.

Weird check in. With no person to person interactions. Only text messages. Pretty cool hotel the room was clean and retro. Not a bad stay. Just a weird check in process and had to ask for information rather than being given general information.

Always nice staying at the property. Very laid back , they make you feel like its your entire place in the sun. Midnight pool adventures... low key and laid back.

Very cozy and quiet

The opposite feel of a chain motel. Magnificently lit and decorated courtyard with hammocks, golf, trees, warm pool that isn't the usual "heated but cold", clean hot tub, relaxing atmosphere after dark. Pools open all night. Text support unresponsive at times, zero roof/ceiling insulation so you have to run AC all the time, jalousie window slats look good but let the hot air in. Very comfy bed. Beautiful polished concrete floors and period details. Needs elevated solar panels 12 inches above existing roof for air movement to solve problem.

If you would like to stay in a place where it feels right at home, with salt water, heated pool n super jacuzzi, open 24/7, so crisp n clean, and adults only, this is it. and Alex is a super host. plenty of eateries around. Love love love A Place In The Sun
Highly Recommend it. and the price, Unbelievable..

Very clean and helpful staff.
Street noise in the middle of the night and Packaged donuts and coffee without milk for breakfast.
Overall, good deal for the price.

This place is incredible! Super cute kitschy boutique motel that is impeccably clean and cozy. It is just so adorable. I am in love with this hotel. The lawn is so well manicured and green, the beds are SUPER comfortable, and the kitchen is a cute vintage space with everything you could need. I love the pool/jacuzzi in the center with the hammocks and lounge chairs and it is just so quiet and serene here. Alex the gentleman who checked us in was so kind and you can tell he works hard to keep this cozy place in check. This hotel was much more affordable than the other options down the road and we are glad that we opted for here. I will definitely be back as I feel super refreshed and relaxed. This is true Palm Springs and did not disappoint.

It's a beautiful, cozy, and safe hospitable place to stay. Loved everything about it. Will stay here again!

Cool place very cozy.

This is a tired, old property. The electrical outlet used to plug in the coffee maker appears to be overloaded and causes concern for potential fire hazard. I was in room 18 and the configuration of the hallway allowed for the loud late night (11:30 p.m. to midnight) yelling of the residents in #19 to be easily heard.
Complaints on the loud noise to management got a response that they were advising #19 of the quiet time policy -- it did little to handle the situation which disturbed my sleep.

No early check in available. Had to stay out front in the hot sun additional 15 minutes after the regular check in. check in process was slow and painful and the room still wasn't done by 330. the complex was kind of old but the pool was extremely enjoyable.
No Condiments available for the coffee.

So much history, I had no idea until Alex checked me in and explained everything, I was really surprised!
The place was very safe & secure, which was important to me as I was travelling alone.
The bed was SO comfy & you had a choice of pillow comfort. The room was a little retro, which was fun. I didn't use the pool or spa, but wish I would've. The outside nightlighting was beautiful. They have done a nice job in preserving all the beauty & history, it really was an interesting stay!

For the price it’s the best place to stay in town! Was worried about some of the reviews, and yea the rooms could use an update, but my room was huge, had private patio, full kitchen, and the grounds and pool were lovely. No complaints whatsoever. Friendly staff.

Will definitely be back.

We needed a night upon arrival and wanted a place close to the airport with a vintage feel. Alex was friendly and greeted us upon arrival. Heated pool was nice.

Very nice staff, and clean room. Old building, that could use an update.

Great retro property!

I would stay here again and plan to.

This place is a real gem. Lots of room for the money. Great hot tub. Easy management.
Thank you!

Check-in was tedious as we were instructed to sit outside the property while waiting for staff inside to text us with entry access code (took about an hour). Other than that it was a fun spot to stay.

Alex the manager; extremely rude, & harassing. He deserves a negative rating, the day of checkout I woke up to pack, I do photography and had equipment in my room which takes time, I text Alex I needed a late checkout of 11:30, he replied; checkout is at 11am. I replied well if you’d like to help me pack youre more than welcome, I appreciate your patience!
The facility had 4 guests, also twas Christmas Eve, and online showed several vacancies, I don’t see why it was a problem giving me an extra minute. 11am on the house keeper came, I told her I texted Alex about a late checkout and then Alex creeped out of a shadow to harass/argue checkout policy, I said I understood but I cant make my belongings packed instantly, please wait.
There were 0 guests, I didn’t see the issue, he said they were “busy today” & over 15 minutes I frantically packed up still being harassed by Alex, I didn’t even get to finish breakfast & had to throw away, all my equipment was disorganized, and didn’t even get to shower. I was packing my car as a sweaty mess, in fear manager Alex would harass me further. I have been bullied in the past so my anxiety was through the roof. To my surprise I looked across the courtyard to see no other guests, just Alex behind the bar flirtatiously conversing with a female friend on site while the house keeper cleaned, you figure on such a busy day he would lend a hand? I finished packing my car, then spent 10 mins waiting on him for my deposit.

Nice place. Bizarre that there was no front desk. Had to sit in car outside and text someone and then wait quite a while for someone to come to door and check us in on their phone. Room was ok. Nothing special. Mattress was very nice. Hot tub smelled like sulfur or some odd gas. Staff were very nice.

Nice place for vacation

We loved how big the bungalow was and the bed was comfortable, the grounds were nice and pool and jacuzzi were very relaxing.
The only cons were need counter space in the bathroom and a dresser in the bedroom.
We definitely will return.

Worst experience of my life happen with this property i choose this property after that i get to know that they don’t allow small babies & i request to cancel for free the person incharge name Alex agree to make free of cancel & now they are refuse to refund so worst hospitality i have ever seen in hotel business

I loved the whole vibe.
4.1
Very well maintained. Both the pool and the hot tuba were heated. Expansive center courtyard so you don’t feel as if you are on top of other guests

We really liked this place- it's super cute and fun. However, we had a truly horrible smell coming out of our drain. They came by to fix it twice, but it came right back. We ended up having to change hotels because it was so nauseating. They didn't offer to change our room, give us a refund, or even apologise. It was really disappointing because otherwise I would have liked to have stayed here again..

The staff was unique with respect to dishonesty, rudeness and incompetence I had a confirmed reservation made hours before my arrival at the property, which was at approximately nine in the evening. I followed the hotel’s check in instructions and did not get a response from Alex, the staff member on duty, for over one hour. It was only after I contacted Expedia. Over an hour after my arrival, I got a text from Alex, informing me that he had cancelled my guaranteed reservation and gave no reasons for doing so. Alex also didn’t explain why he waited to give me this news at ten thirty at night, leaving me high and dry in Palm Springs without a reservation. At the time, I was at a complete loss over Alex’s bizarre behavior. I told Axex that I was not leaving the property until I got an explanation from him as to the specific reasons for his decision. I did hear from Alex. His response was void of any substance. Instead, he made a series of vague threats against me, which was extremely unprofessional. In fact, his threats were laughable, as this tough guy was too much of a coward to actually come out and talk to me. Actually, Alex did me a great favor by canceling my reservation. A Place in the Sun is a dump. It is essentially a dirty, rundown motel that appears to have its last update during the Eisenhower administration. The outdoor area has all the charm of a prison yard, with its high walls constructed to keep out the crazies in the bad neighborhood.
4.1
Attentive and professional staff. Great room size and decor.
4.1
Very clean. Alex was polite and professional.

This place was great, except the shower really needed some shelves in it, and it didn’t drain well. You also have to text upon arrival, and the slow response caused panic in a lot of people, but once you get in it’s gorgeous!
