Hotel is old and poorly maintained. Rooms are in poor condition and aircondition is very noisy. Neighborhood is questionable. Breakfast was also not a pleasant experience. We couldn't wait to leave and would not recommend this place.

We had an easy Check-In, but we had trouble with the wifi in our room. The front desk showed us how to log in, but when we went back to the room it didn’t work again. Had to call hotels.com because apparently the wifi wasn’t working at all in our sector and they hotel said we couldn’t switch until the following day. After hotels.com’s intervention, they were able to find a room. The breakfast was wonderful, plentiful, varied and had excellent service. Excellent location.

We paid 110 euros for one night. Positives: The reception staff were lovely and helpful. Parking on site was secure. Negatives: The room smelt fusty, was old and tired. We had a fridge in the room that was dirty. There was no mini-bar. There were no tea or coffee making facilities. The bed had a mattress protector on it and was very uncomfortable. The breakfast was terrible. We are vegan and had a slice of toast with jam. The quality of the food offered was bad - fruit was not fresh. The orange juice was cordial. The coffee terrible.Overall: a very expensive hotel for what we experienced. I expected a lot more for the price of one night. Will not return.

When we informed the front desk about the issue in the morning nothing was done and we weren't compensated all we got was "we're sorry about that" I was very disappointed as we deserved at least a compensation for the terrible night we spent!!

The lobby was lovely and they were nice at the front desk but the room was not even 1 star. There were stains on the carpets, chips on the furniture. The towels in our bathroom were stained. We paid $180 USD and it was way overpriced.

For me the best of this hotel is the people working here, really kind and helpful people. But building and rooms have many issues: poor general maintenance with many small damages here and there. Elevators are in pretty bad conditions. They should spend money and time in general building maintenance. The 4 stars doesn’t represent overall state of the hotel. Disappointed.

The pictures on Expedia do not represent the hotel well, in my opinion. Expedia presents a modern, upscale hotel. The room we got, #116, was nothing like any of the rooms in the photos - the furniture and bathroom shower was dated, the push board ceilings were moldy, and the lighting was not great either. I also found the AC did not work, it would come on at first to reach my desired temp but then not come back on again throughout the night to maintain the room temp. The price does not match the hotel. I have spent much less in Europe (including Portugal) and had a much better experience.
