Really enjoyed my stay at Hetzel hotel. Room was really big for a single Bathroom was very clean with a nice shower. Breakfast wasn't five star but it had all I needed to give me a good start in the morning. Not a lot of dialogue with reception, which I believe,is a good thing. Nice surroundings and U-trains were frequent and close to walking distance. Only negative was the price is a little bit too high for being out in the suburbs of the city.

We were visiting nearby friends. This was a convenient hotel to stop. Parking could have been a problem but, thankfully, it wasn't.

Good in all respects - location (handy for shops and trams), comfort (good beds, clean and well-appointed bathroom etc), and food (great breakfast).

The hotel looks very nice from the outside and had good location close to the meeting I had to attend as well as close to a local industrial park. The drawbacks were (1) that the hotel charged a lot for WiFi as well as for breakfast, (2) there was a smell in the hallway (may be due to pest control?) and the room itself while clean and all, had no laundry bags, only one english TV station, etc. A lot of niceties that other hotels might include were not given here.

This is a very clean hotel. By taxi, it took about 15min from the train station. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful. The hotel decor is a bit dated, but the entire hotel is spotless.

The Hotel itself was good for a day or two but there was nothing around it. you had to get on the train to go downtown which took 15 mins. there is no clothes shops around it or for that matter any good shops at all. the staff are not friendly at all and when you asked them for something you got a look before they did what you nicely asked them to do. I am not staying there again and would not reconmend the hotel to anyone. next time I will pick a hotel closer to Downtown

The Hetzel Hotel Loewen may not be in a perfect location but a quick taxi ride into town is easily done. The hotel was clean and very friendly and helpful.

This was my first trip to Germany and I don't speak any German. We turned up at Hetzel Hotel Loewen and were greeted by a lovely lady on the front desk. She spoke beautiful English and was incredibly helpful- to the point of showing us to the inhouse restaurant and translating the menu to us.Our room was clean and comfortable with all the ammenities we would expect. The neighbourhood was a quiet leafy suburb, situated about a 10 minute S-Bahn journey away from the very heart of Stuttgart. All in all a very pleasant stay, I would definately come back and stay here again.

Hotel was as described on their web site, no surprises. Staff was helpful. Hotel is not in tourist section, but only 10 minutes away by tram (close to Mercedes museum) which was a pleasant, safe 5 minute walk, with frequent trams. Trams are very nice. On site restaurant was Greek. Prices were very reasonable (pleasant surprise) and food was good. Family run and hospitable. Since the hotel is not in the tourist section, English may be hard to come by, (I speak German) but the restaurant and hotel are very eager to accomodate. Room had a nice balcony. Area is residential/town. Within 50 yards of hotel were two banks with ATM's, and coffee/pastry shop. (A substitute for the extra cost breakfast) The breakfast seemed a bit pricey, especially when you consider you could get dinner for a few Euros more. If you are staying local, forget the rental car, buy the 3 day pass for trams. It's not jammed like other European cities. This town really has it's act together. Things happen on time, are clean, organized, not congested and people are accomodating. I would stay here again. This 3 star hotel was nicer than the 4 star hotel we finished our vacation at in Paris and 1/4 (yes 1/4) the price.

The great thing about this hotel was the location, in that it was out of town enough to influence the price accordingly, but near enough to the excellent tram system to make getting into the centre quick and easy. It's located in a 'town within a city' so had good local amenities and is within 100m of the nearest tram stop. The local town is also quite picturesque and benefits from good traditional architecture. The hotel itself is in good condition, clean and comfortable, with friendly english-speaking staff. We would happily stay again.

Two double beds pushed together does not equal a "large" bed. This was the most uncomfortable part of the stay. The hotel was much older and worn down than it appeared in the photos. The room was not very clean. Most importantly, it's in a very inconvenient location that isn't close to anything in Stuttgart. For some reason, this was not reflected on the map that I checked out in advance. There are cleaner, cheaper, more convenient hotels in the area (which I luckily figured out on my own).

This hotel is snuggly wedged into a Stuttgart neighborhood with access to the local train station just a couple of blocks away. It provided a very nice experience and quite different that staying at a more "American" hotel. My only regret was the lack of an English TV channel as I do not speak German. The included breakfast was quite good, and they have an attached Greek restaurant. Friendly helpful staff that spoke English were also appreciated.

I stayed at this hotel for two nights. I found the staff friendly and helpful, and the hotel was only a short walk to the nearest U-Bahn station. However, I have two problems with the hotel. Number one is that it cost me 20 EUR for two breakfasts. Breakfast at the hotel is a buffet made up of bread rolls, cold meats, jams etc, cereal, and tea, coffee or orange juice to drink. I was also offered a boiled egg by the staff. On both mornings I ate a bread roll with jam and butter, and drank orange juice. I could understand the price if they offered a cooked breakfast, but charging 20 EUR for two bread rolls seems ridiculously expensive to me. It's also worth mentioning that I was not told the price in advance. My second problem was access to my room. I was only told that I could take the lift to my floor, and so, when I arrived back at the hotel one day to find that the lift was out of order, I was more than a little confused. The stairs from my floor to the outside were in the adjoining building, behind a door the end of my corridor (incidentally, this door was blocked by a cleaning trolley). After going down these stairs, the outside door showed no indication of being part of the hotel and was several buildings down the road from the main hotel reception. I feel that this access issue should have been explained to me on arrival, particularly in case there had been a fire.
