Lovely place, receptionist was very welcoming. Evening meal was nice. I would stay again if i liked hard beds.

Comfortable bed, large room with table and chairs, mainly quiet, a little noise from the bar

The good, the staff were excellent, the hotel is convenient for many of the IoW attractions. Breakfast was in the old dining room and there was plenty of choice. Evening meals were in the bar and a bit of a scrum for seating. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was well provided with towels. The room was made up each day which is a rarity these days. The bad, the building is very tired, our room was very hot due to underfloor pipework. Great in winter but not much fun in warm evenings. The windows need replacing and there had been a water leak through the ceiling leaving stains on the ceiling and walls.

Staying at The Ryde Castle makes you feel like Royalty! Lolly helped to make that come true! The location is perfect! Dinner was delicious! I highly recommend The Ryde Castle!

Brilliant service from reception. Fast service to remedy a shower. Comfortable bed. Went out of their e way to help us celebrate our wedding anniversary. Thank you

On arrival they said I could only pay by card- it took me to guess that was due to the Microsoft issue. The room was so hot we couldn’t sleep, no air con (but there was an (£19.99 fan to push the hot air around) only one out of the 4 windows could be opened as the others were stuck together with paint. We couldn’t get a drink as they had live music and not enough bar staff. The hotel was therefore very busy and nosey - but as the room was so hot and we had to open our one window our room was above the crowds it was very noisy. Not a good experience- we are all very tired and hot. I appreciate this hotel is old, but knowing it was hot, investment in a Dyson air con unit might help! These was also no top sheet on the bed, so the options are lie on top of the bed with no cover, or get underneath the 10 tog duvet.

Unique, friendly staff.

We arrived early, but luckily our room was ready so we checked in more than 2hrs early.
Had a lovely luch in the bar followed by a cheeky siesta whilst watching the ladies Wimbledon final. The bed was too soft and quite creaky.
Had a very enjoyable and tasty dinner in the beer garden, in the sunshine.
We were down for breakfast bang on 8am as we wanted to get the 9am ferry back to the mainland. Eventually persuaded the lady to make us a couple of bacon butties to go, but there seemed no urgency on her part. We were about to leave empty handed, when she bustled out of the kitchen with two butties wrapped in tinfoil - fortuitously, we made the ferry...

The hotel was very convenient and close to the seafront. The room was comfortable and it had a walk-in shower which I needed. I also have difficulty with stairs, so I chose the hotel because it has a lift. It also has plenty of parking and the staff were very friendly. Will stay there again next time I visit the Isle of Wight.

Good Convenient Hotel in Ryde, though slightly dated, all the amenities were present.
The restaurant was good, we ate there twice.
Some minor issues with windows and bed make up, but the staff were helpful in getting it all fixed. Was also given a free breakfast upgrade, which was appreciated.

We had a lovely stay, and the staff were lovely warm & friendly. Lolly brought a smile to our faces everyday!
The room was nice and comfortable with everything we needed including a lovely seaview.

The seaview double room upgrade provided a nice room, comfortable and clean bed. Note broken bath panel. I would happy with lower charge but for £150 the room was not good value for money. Breakfast was nice. Service at dinner very slow and average quality. The staff were lovely, really helpful allowed us to store luggage at no cost at early arrive and day we checked out.

Long weekend away booked the Ryde Castle. I have stayed before here, for business. This time with my wife. Did not disappoint, fantastic seaview. Great breakfast. The stay was made so welcoming with all the staff especially Charles, reception and the breakfast staff. Basically everyone. Fantastic will book again.

I very much enjoyed my stay at Ryde Castle. My favourite beer, an excellent breakfast, and attentive service were some highlights. I'll stay there again!

The Ryde Castle is an amazing place to stay. It is close to the ferry terminal in Fishbourne, the staff are friendly and helpful, it has a lift (which was great after a long day of hiking) and the room was very comfortable.

A basic hotel providing what is needed for an overnight stay

Large room. Bed a bit too solid for my liking but pleasant room. Cold tho. Heating could not keep up with low temperatures.

The staff were brilliant very friendly, happy, knowledgeable and efficient. We booked a lovely Seaview room. Food in the restaurant was great as was the service. Breakfast was amazing. Our chef was Tommek and Dani offered us lots of advice on where to visit on top of being a lovely and capable hostess. We liked it so much we have booked to stay again.

Arrived put in a normal room instead of sea view as requested and payed for. The pub area was dirty lids on toilets hanging off, dinning area floors were black never been washed feet stuck to floor and chairs were very dirty and ripped. The staff were amazing, breakfast was good too but the cleaness let it down and very disappointed so won’t be coming back

Lovely 2 night birthday stay . Very nice room no 11 large very comfortable twin beds and large new bathroom. Breakfast was excellent choice staff helpful and kind . Location excellent for hovercraft and fast cat and bus station . I would just say that need a lick of paint overall and new carpet which would really make a difference. 3rd stay at Ryde castle and sure it won’t be the last ! Thanks

This was our second visit here, the staff were so friendly and helpful. We had a very large dog, Maddie, with us and they were all so accommodating! Bar staff also very good as we did keep them longer than we should have, Sorry!!
Will be back next year

GREAT CENTRAL LOCATION FOR OUR SHORT BREAK

Unfortunately the hotel wasn’t quite what we expected, it really was very tired looking and could do with a refurb. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was really good too. The staff were lovely and was very attentive and always happy but I think they could have had some extra help as they were run off of their feet and constantly being asked for things ie more water for the tea and coffee, fresh juice and even cups and saucers. Also it took ages for any meals to be served. Most mornings it took an hour to have breakfast, just sitting and waiting and they were always running out of things. We did have a couple of meals in the evening but unfortunately that was no different. To be honest they really did need extra staff. We were surprised how pleasant the staff were considering they were always rushed. And it wasn’t just us, we did speak to other guests and they felt exactly the same. The thing is it wasn’t a cheap place to stay and we thought by paying a decent price it would be far above what it actually was. It isn’t somewhere that we would go back to.

A clean well run weekend gettaway hotel

Property is lovely - be nice if they had a shuttle from the hovercraft/ferry ports. Short walk but when you're tired and it's raining and you're shlepping suitcases...would be nice.
No one at front desk - we had to finally call the phone number.
Elevator was out - carrying suitcases up and down especially for one night was not fun. If your elevator isn't working, have someone available to carry luggage for guests.
Meals were okay, in a lovely dining area but awkward. first no silver, then had to ask for menu, water. No real greeter.

Really nice hotel, right on the seafront. There were 13 of us and they accommodated us perfectly at breakfast and dinner. Staff were really friendly and helpful. My only complaint would be that they shut the bar at 10pm on two of the evenings which was disappointing.

Had a fantastic time both at Ryde Castle and The Isle of Wight. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful throughout the stay. Try the Beef & Ruddles pie, unbelievable.
2.5
As usual, a very friendly and efficient welcome and all in all an enjoyable and comfortable stay. Nikki, Adam, Finn and Clare are particularly worthy of mention for their "yes we can" approach and their praiseworthy customer service orientation. Well done. OK, so part of the Castle might be looking a bit tired these days, but the general standard of comfort and cleanliness is excellent.
I will be back!

Staff were welcoming and the room was clean, cosy and spacious with a lovely sea view. Unfortunately, during the night the room got a bit chilly despite the central heating being on which made sleeping uncomfortable. Wi-fi access required a long signing in process.

The hotel is in a perfect location for all Ryde and the island has to offer.
The hotel is of a good standard but the rooms could do with a coat of paint now to freshen them up a bit. The rooms are comfortable though and the breakfasts are good with plenty of variety.
The staff are friendly and helpful and quick to deal with any queries.
The free parking offered by the hotel is also a bonus.
My favourite hotel in Ryde!

Friendly staff, clean hotel, comfy bed negatives room 7 you can hear reception phone above the tv every time it rings and ifvthe window is open you get aroma from the kitchen extration system that isnon the roof outside the window which made me feel ill. The breakfast was microwave scrambled egg and wasnt any pride in any of its appearance which was disappointing.

We wanted just an overnight stay to visit family on the island and the Ryde Castle was perfect - a comfortable sizeable room with an excellent dinner.
2.5
The Ryde Castle is definitely the best hotel in Ryde. The rooms are comfortable and clean with everything you need for a good night's sleep. There is plenty of choice at breakfast and their evening menu is also good.
The bar area provides a nice place to chill for an hour or two before dinner. The added bonus is the free parking at the hotel and the central position.
