Super location if you come by car. Garage and street parking nearby. Riad Dar Dmana was very clean and simply appointed. Breakfast of eggs, breads, local pancakes, assorted condiments, and coffee was a perfect start to the day. Gave us a nice restaurant recommendation for dinner our first night and walked us right to it.

We were made to feel so welcome upon arrival, it was so nice to have a meal directly we got off our evening fight, the bedroom is warm with the heater and they gave us extra blankets. The location is great, 5 mins from Medina, Gardens and museums. Everyone, polite and helpful (2 girls) and no hassle etc.

Would not recommend for families with young children. Probably OK for young couples used to backpackers. Excellent location and service did not make up for disappointing quality of rooms and bathrooms.

Good location a couple short blocks away from Bab Boujloud. Easy access to road. Hotel and the room I had was fairly dimly lit and was not nearly as swank as the photos on the hotels.com website suggest. Furniture was a bit dilapidated. LIke a wardrobe closet that listed forward so the door would not stay close, metal plating on a bedside table that jutted out dangerously. Would have been great if there was an electrical outlet next to the desk. Heat did not work the first night. I tried to turn on the A/C and the machine made horrendous noises. They kindly provided me with a space heater the next night. Bathroom shower head really needed new gaskets or something because the water was leaking and spraying every which way. Staff was quite nice. Breakfast was basic and a bit greasy. For the cost, I thought this was rather poor value but don't really have a point of comparison, as it is the only place I stayed in Fes.

We were greeted by the owner/ manager cordially but arrogantly. Abdul and the rest of the riad staff were however very lovely and made our stay very enjoyable. Breakfasts here are fantastic and the rooms well cleaned and cared for- just don't ask the manager to recommend a restaurant. We arrived very late and wanted something light to eat, not the full tagine

The Riad had lovely hosts who helped us plan our guide for the Medina, a day trip to Meknes and Volubilis, and then a three day trip to the desert ending in Marrakech. The location of the Riadl made walking out by ourselves a little difficult. The hosts organised someone to walk with us to a close by hotel for an evening meal.

The stay here was great. They had really kind staff that were great at helping us get around. The Riad was also beautifully designed and maintained.

I cannot say enough about the hospitality and accommodations at this wonderful Riad. Stay here! It is very close to the medina (market), but not inside, where security and safety are more of an issue. The manager negotiated a second night at a very reasonable price. He also went out of his way to find licensed guides for touring the city and the medina at a very reasonable price. The food served at the Riad was very Moroccan, very tasty, and authentic. I felt like I was experiencing the real Morocco here at Dar Dmana, with all the luxuries one would ever need - especially that of confidence and trust in the management to make my stay enjoyable, safe, and a great bargain.

As seems to be the case with riads, we had a nice chat with the owner Rashid over tea upon our arrival. We had ordered a regular room and he upgraded us to a small suite with a window overlooking the central courtyard. The riad seemed to be relatively empty in April. It has a great location near the blue gate. We were able to park our car in a nearby garage for a few tens of dirhams. The hotel advertises free parking, but we got so lost driving into Fes at night that we had to be guided by a fellow on a motorycle, who handed us off to a tour guide, also named Rashid, who took us into the underground lot. Rashid the guide turned out to be very good, although we ended up going to a lot of shops, especially a carpet store and a leather store associated with the tannery. To be fair though, the carpet store and the tannery started with a tour, and the stuff on offer was very high quality, the tour was good and the people were fun and nice. Of course the asking price is always really high, and you have to negotiate. We always left with the feeling that we got a decent value, but that if we had bargained harder we could have gotten an even better deal. We spent a lot more money than we had planned. The reason I mention all this is that Rashid the riad owner may offer to get you a guide, etc. He also owns a tannery. You may be happy with his choice or not. We don't know, since we had contracted a guide before arriving at the riad.

Very conveniently located riad with lots of authentic charm. Friendly, helpful staff do their best to make you feel at home. We hired the tour guide and had a wonderful time!
