Great place to stay in the middle of Kuta & Legian, mini bar free on first night lots of goodies, great buffet breakfast & across the road from the beach and an easy walk to shops.

Our room was excessively humid

Found Alam KulKul to be the perfect secret place on a busy street. Staff were always pleasant and happy to oblige. Three generations holidayed here together and found it a wonderful experience.

Stayed many times. Return customers. Plumbing needs attention.

Property had beautiful gardens and accommodation set well back from street noise.
Rooms need to be updated and a good clean. Although towels and linen were very clean, bathrooms had grime and needed a good clean. Our room in particular had a mouldy smell and felt damp.

Lovely hotel to stay, I had the first level bedroom overlooking garden pool. Friendly & kind staff, nothing was too much trouble. Close to beach, & restaurants. Best massage. Thank you

Staff were great in fixing our room, as they had not reserved a room with balcony. But staff(manager) were great. Pools need more loungers, and breakfast buffet lacking fruit. Grounds are lovely!!!

We stayed in the quad room in the back building, third floor. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Not luxurious, but better than I expected from some reviews. A/C worked great. Grounds are gorgeous. Nice pool. Staff is so friendly and helpful! Just across the street from the beach. Buffet breakfast was amazing! Would definitely return. Thanks for a great stay!

Good price and great location.

Unfortunately we checked into the hotel and we’re given a smelly , foul smelling stinky room.
The first room was very bad but the second room was worse! Finally after 2 hours we were given the third room which was good.
It was disappointing to have the property manager on the phone telling you that the staff said the room doesn’t smell. Talking to the staff the manager didn’t talk with the staff she was just trying to get have us go away. I believe that because we had booked long way in advance at a great price that we were given the sub standard room.
The property is an older style but it does have renovated rooms the third room was on the ground floor and ok.

The staff were amazing when asked to get another room due to the first one being very musty.
No issues from then.

Great location for surfing at Legian beach. General maintenance around hotel needs to be looked at. Our fridge and tv did not work. Fire system needs inspection. Hydrant boxes were missing equipment.

Very nice hotel with friendly and serviceminded staff. Rooms are nice and clean. Hotel area is quiet even though it is close to a busy street and the beach. Everything in Kuta Bech is at a walking distance. Breakfast is good as well. We really enjoyed our stay!

I simply enjoyed the experience

Everything was great! The hotel was calm, without kids’ noise. The staff was friendly.
Thank you for the surprise for my husband’s birthday, it was thoughtful.
The room was awesome. The only thing we were disappointed about was the outlets. Only one US standard outlet for for room.
Overall, everything else was great!
We would definitely come back to this hotel.

This property is in a good location. Right by monkey forest. Things were clean, but older. The sheets had tears. Towels had old stains.

After problems at check in. We were upgraded to a villa the next day. The room was great and a good size. But the outside bathroom was really hot and humid. Certainly would not pay extra to stay in a villa with this facility.

Unprofessional
Stained towels
Air conditioning broken

Nice property, reasonable sized rooms.
Two pools which is handy given there’s more people than pool chairs available.
Had to pay for breakfast.
Stay tainted with a broken room lock. Came back from dinner and waited nearly an hour to get back into room.

Our room was clean and tidy and more than we expected. Breakfast was lovely with good variety. Staff were friendly and always there to help if required. Pools were clean and a good tempreture...would be great if one pool could be adults only. Would definitely stay here again.

That was the second time we have stayed & it’s in a great spot, opposite the beach & close to shops & restaurants. Stayed 3 weeks & loved it.

I loved the old Bali style of the hotel, as opposed to the concrete slabs of the modern ones. The gardens, ponds and layout were lovely. Very comfortable and welcoming. The staff were genuinely happy and friendly and helpful. The location was perfect, easy walking to shops, restaurants and the beach.

We thouroughly enjoyed our stay. Lots of traditional Balinese architecture furniture and touches. Beautiful landscaping and care of grounds, pools are excellent and the staff just wonderful. Warm, welcoming and professional. Rooms comfortable, clean linen etc.

This property was amazing. Located centrally to everything we needed and right across the road from the beach. Great inhouse restaurant as well as many others on the road alongside the hotel. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer. Highly recommended. Family friendly and quiet. Staff were very accommodating and lovely to deal with. Rooms were traditional style and had all amenities we needed for our stay. Will definitely come back.

Quiet, well staffed property, great for couples, beautiful Jamu Spa, used many times, very peaceful, nice buffet breakfast every morning 🌄

The advertising photographs are very old. The property itself needs some upkeep, rotted through balustrades upstairs around the terrace bar which are very dangerous, the room was a bit mouldy. You cannot change money at the reception and there is no tour desk.. BUT the breakfast buffet was really good, the food at Papas Cafe was great, Miss Linda at Papas was wonderful, Miss Lisa - Guest Relations Manager was AWESOME and very helpful - ALL staff were wonderful.

Security guards are a bunch of vultures that pounce on people who they don't feel belongs in the hotel. I run into a friend that I met on a scuba trip and wanted to show her my pics from the trip. She is from Thailand and the guards racially and sexually profiled her and refused to let her come to my room. They totally disrespected and humiliated both of.
They have a policy of not letting any non-registered guests into guests rooms. I asked if i could register her now. Answer was no you must register everyone at time you check in.
They were so insistent and disrespectful that felt i need to check out and move to another hotel. What hotel refuses to allow you to bring a guest to your room? I have never encountered it before.
l told them i wouldbe writing a negative review about this and next day they messaged me this exact text:
"We are writing to you to strongly advise you to remove your negative comment on our Instagram account immediately.
We are about to send your passport details to the Kuta Police Station and Immigration Department to report on foreigner who are behaving badly."
So if you want to stay at a hotel that treats guest and particularly Asian women this badly then suit yourself.
If you choose to stay be prepared to find hair littered over your room and bathroom, a toilet that doesn't flush, shower taps that are old and corroded which result in burns trying to get them off, random things broken or falling apart, a bathroom with a hole in ceiling allowingrainandothercreaturescomein

Loved staying here again stayed there 20 years ago an it was excellent an it was still a beautiful hotel to stay now. Beautiful Bali style hotel with amazing staff.

The hotel’s blend of traditional furniture and infrastructure with modern facilities were well balance. The staff were all friendly and very helpful.
Some ware and tear are present especially due to constant humid weather, with mold showing in areas within the shower area.
Otherwise a very well located hotel/resort and would highly recommend.

It is a great place to stay, except the WiFi interruptions were very annoying

Excellent staff and friendly environment for family. We felt very safe, and our children enjoyed the resort's pools very much. The pools were very clean and well maintained. Also, there were plenty of other restaurant options outside within walking distance. The breakfast could provide more fruit and bread options, but overall, very delicious! We definitely recommend this resort to other families.

The resort was fab. Some rennos in progress but didn’t dampen the feel of holiday. Would definitely come back. Rooms were great. Lived the second pool as often in the shade. Great to be so close to beach and Garlic lane for eating.
