Again a hotel not telling us if they were going to tidy or room and bring fresh towels. Why why why can’t they communicate this?
They really hype the bar/restaurant online but we couldn’t use it because it was closed for a wedding reception or something. And then closed Sunday.
Fun to stay once but we won’t be back.

Great hotel, and the atmosphere was great
4.7
Just my observation:
First contact is the reception desk.
Lovely and sets the atmosphere for the property. Great!
Second is the elevator to guest room: The elevator interior needs to be refreshed. Floors dirty and edges not vacuumed properly. A notice was glued to wallpaper, removed but strips of paper still remain. Shows lack of attention or detail to job. Wood trim damaged by suitcases or trolleys. Unavoidable but perhaps restored and protected.
This is just my observation but got the same feeling you get when your airplane food tray is dirty. What else are they not doing? Our room was very clean and well appointed. Thank you. We enjoyed our stay and love your hotel. Would recommend it to others. Oh, all employees were very hospitable and professional.

It's an older establishment, somewhat dark.
4.7
It was very elegant and old timey the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was cute only thing was it took them an extra hour and half or so to get the room ready
4.7
Excellent
4.7
Such an amazing hotel. Hotel bar was great, front desk staff were super nice and professional. We will stay at this hotel next time we go to Seattle.
4.7
Good, quirky hotel that sends you back in time. Ok room—ours was just above HVAC units outside so it was kind of loud. Area immediately by the hotel has a vacant feel but it’s a short walk to cool stuff. Great lobby and Bartelme. Not sure it rates a wonderful tag but I’d stay there again if the price was ok
4.7
Fantastic historic building decked out with images of Arctic exploration. Everyone at the front desk was incredibly friendly and helpful from arrival to departure. Breakfast spread was great, and the bar area was quite cool. Location on Pioneer Square is convenient for public transit lines, including the Link and many bus lines, along with the ferry terminal. I would absolutely stay again!
4.7
Excellent hotel, great staff, clean spacious rooms. This is a first-class hotel, highly recommend it. General manager makes sure you are well taken care of
4.7
Great view from our upper floor room. Comfortable bed and a fun bar.
4.7
Great place to stay! I loved the old architecture and the bathrooms were beautiful. It was just a short walk to Pike Place.
4.7
Staff very friendly. Over priced in my opinion. Because we we through Hotels.com we were given the worst room they offer. Lots of homeless people around hotel.
4.7
Their lobby is very cushy and inviting. They stored our luggage for us as we arrived at 9:30 am, so we could go look around. We checked in at noon. It was terrific. Lovely room & ROBES! Only drawback, shower curtain too short so water got on the floor, and the bathroom light needed to be brighter. Very helpful front desk employees.
4.7
There was a 100 damage fee hold we were not told about and we found garbage behind one of the end tables left from peevious guests. Bed was comfortable and room was decent sized.
4.7
Great hotel with lots of history. Location was great for walking to pike’s market and other sites
4.7
Everything is walkable. Clean room. The staff was EXCELLENT!
4.7
Walls were incredibly thin, we heard almost everything happening in the room next door. Bring earplugs or a noise machine. Lumen field was about a 10 minute walk. Lots to do and see but beware of homeless in the area. Staff was lovely and attentive.
4.7
Our corner room was wonderful and spacious. The breakfast buffet was very generous. We were warmly greeted by the front desk staff at our checkin.
Beautiful well maintained old hotel. (The area was a little seedy but unfortunately that seemed to be a common thread in Seattle.)
4.7
What a fabulous building! The atmosphere was fantastic, staff were friendly, room was very clean, and the complementary breakfast was good. A fairly short walk to Lumen Field for the concert we were attending. The only con was the area had quite a fair amount of unhoused people occupying it, but they didnt bother us nor is this the hotel's fault. Would stay again!
4.7
Loved the hotel, such a unique property. Loved the turn of the century feel. Staff was amazing, excellent service. Very convenient to transit and activities, although there is a lot of homeless on 3rd.
4.7
The staff were wonderful-helpful and had great recommendations! Only little hiccup was the elevators were having some issues, but the hotel staff seemed to be on it and got it resolved quickly! We will definitely be staying here again!

Hotel was very nice with very friendly staff. The Arctic and 1800's vibe and Theme is really cool with the ice Polar Bear statue located in the lobby. Nice for a photo opp. Lobby, Room, Gym, Restaurant were clean. The lobby always had great music playing softly in the background. The bar is nice and lobby always had great energy, including an interactive pool table which is fun. The location is decent, we were not disturbed by any homeless locals. The public train system is just a short block away! Ask for the Chef's recipe inspired Clam Chow, the best I've ever tasted. However, warning, if you order it on a weekend its not the same recipe. Mixed drinks are good at the bar, try the 3-sample flight, good value. The "hot" breakfast is surprisingly great! It includes hot breakfast meats, hot and cold breakfast breads and pastries, and enough hot and cold fruit, cereal selections for everyone. Seattle's own Starbucks coffee is served as well.
4.7
Very nice hotel. Excellent front door and front desk service. Wish the rooms were a little brighter (like to read in bed) but I believe that's part of the ambiance and theme (slightly old world). Overall, very nice hotel. Decent breakfast, though a little repetitive.
4.7
In ambience, a step back in time. The Polar Bear was wonderful. Hospitality of the staff top-notch. Bed very comfortable. Will recommend.
4.7
Nice hotel, wife really liked it. Breakfast was good.... not great. The neighborhood looked a little rough, but walked a lot without incedent. Close to the shore.
4.7
Hotel has charm and is historical. Rooms & bathroom is dated
4.7
Nice hotel. No early check in or late check out. Very nice staff. Breakfast was good. Room was very nice and spacious
4.7
Very nice hotel!
4.7
We enjoyed the stay, staff very friendly.
4.7
Hotel was wonderful. Amazing breakfast.
4.7
The bar was amazing!
4.7
Best front desk arrival experience I’ve had in years! Caitlin was friendly, efficient, professional and informative! Bellmen met us at the curb to help with our bags. The property is beautiful and a ‘step back in time.’ I enjoyed my stay!!
4.7
Hotel was lovely, as were the staff.
The surrounding area was a bit sketchy.
4.7
The hotel overall is clean, staffs are friendly, but maybe my room is too close to street so it is noisy.
4.7
The hotel was excellent, but the area around it was kinda scary.
4.7
We had a wonderful stay and would go back if we ever find ourselves back in Seattle. The hotel is lovely, the staff friendly & helpful. It is located at the edge of Pioneer Square. Very walkable to the Pike Marketplace and the waterfront. The Link is just across the street from the hotel, which we rode to the monorail to get to the Space Needle, Chiluly Glass & Garden and the Museum of Pop Culture. We especially enjoyed lounging at the Polar Bear Bar after a long day of sightseeing. Great cocktails & a full menu. Lots of history at this hotel. Lovingly restored back to its original glory.
There is a homeless encampment across the street, but no one bothered or approached us. We felt safe walking to and from the hotel.
4.7
I felt like I was walking through a group of zombies on each side of the sidewalk on third st. The city needs to do something as it was dirty and felt unsafe.
4.7
This is a charming hotel- lovely in every way from the staff to the room to the fabulous Polar Lounge in the lobby. We had a wonderful stay and recommend this highly! It’s also right on the light rail line to get to the ballpark and airport… It’s fantastic! Don’t miss it.
4.7
Excellent customer service staff. Kevin the manager made the stay very good after we encountered small issue with the room.
