The hotel staff was amazing- friendly,efficient, and knowledgeable about the area and its amenities. Our only issue was the condition of the room we were in. The window curtains were stained badly and torn. The window sill itself was filthy with debris. The rest of the room, and bathroom were spotless, so you could tell the staff was meticulous about cleaning. The breakfast was delicious, and the lady working there was as sweet as you could ask for. Both employees working the check-in desk were entertaining- you could tell they enjoyed their jobs.
My husband said on the second day, the hot tub was filthy and lukewarm. My brother-in-law refused to get in it.
Again, the staff was wonderful, but you made need a refresh on the facility.

We were there for the Dubuque County Fair and it's supposed to be quite popular but most staff hadn't gone or didn't care to go which was a bit disappointing and discouraging to hear. Check in was a bit slow. We had to get the attention of the staff since they were just chatting in the back. Rooms were older. The property needs alot of updates. Regular channels, no ability for Netflix, Youtube, etc. Breakfast was the same for the 3 days we stayed - fruit, watered-down scrambled eggs, egg omelets, sausage, biscuits and gravy (bland), pancake maker (not the best tasting, better to invest in a waffle maker), cinnabons (taste store bought and heated up), juice. Only 1 elevator but it wasn't busy so we had no issues getting up and down - only 3 floors. Pool, fitness room, and hot tub were as expected. We appreciated a shower in the pool are to rinse off before going back to our rooms. Amanda, the housekeeping supervisor, was in charge of refilling breakfast items and offered our kids an icee which was very much appreciated and a nice ending to our stay. Please thank her for us.

The hotel did not have enough staff. The front desk was empty and you had to call the hotel to alert to any need. For two days there were no bath towels. Had to use hand towels for showering. Hotel staff said that they did not have anyone to do laundry. This could be a good value hotel but it needs much more qualified management.

The hotel isn’t up to the Holiday Inn Express standard. The hotel was very dated. It looked like the rooms had been updated, but the common areas were old and dingy. TV in our room was at least 15 years old and had horrible picture. Went to take a shower and body wash pumps (which are locked down) was empty.

The property is in need of some remodeling/updating and attention to maintenance on some key things. When we checked into our room, while there was a nice note on the bed stating that the room had been "refreshed", it was clear that the floor needed to be vacuumed and tables dusted. The first night, our toilet would not flush. I called the front desk to report it, using the phone in the room; however, the front desk attendant couldn't hear me, so I had to walk down to the front desk to report it. She promptly came up to see what was going on and attempt to fix it. While it did flush after that, we had to hold the handle down to get it to flush and sometimes that didn't work - so we would wait a few hours and try again. The 2nd day we were there, the elevator from the 2nd floor wasn't working (I believe they said it was because of the keys/buttons "sticking"), so we had to take the steps to get downstairs. However, we could use the elevator to go up. We were informed that a maintenance technician would be onsite that day (Friday, 03.29) to take a look at it. While I won't likely stay at this location again, I will commend the front desk woman on the evening of Thursday, 03.28. She is a fantastic representation for the company: very customer focused, pleasant, congenial, an overall great asset this company.

The hotel itself and our room was very clean. We were extremely disappointed in the pool and hot tub. I booked this hotel so we could enjoy both and unfortunately we could not. The hot tub had a pungent odor coming from it. The pool was so cold my kids could not enjoy it. There were no towels available either. I was disappointed.

The hotel staff were very kind and informative about the property. They were helpful when needed. They were the best thing about the property.
The property does show its age. The walls were scuffed up and tiles had cracks with grout missing. This was in open areas and our room. The vending are on second floor is missing; there’s a sign hung indicating they are doing work. I’m not sure how long the sign’s been there. Our pillows were soft and comfortable but the beds dipped in the middle so I seemed to roll into the middle of the bed, closing in on the wife as she slept.
The pool and whirlpool worked. Pool was very cold but this didn’t seem to bother the kids. Pool towels were limited/missing at times and we had to ask the front desk for towels when they were gone.
Food was disappointing for a continental. People were throwing it out. The pancakes had a zest (maybe lemon?) and were rubber-like in texture. The sweet buns were good. Biscuits for the biscuits and gravy were dry/crumbly. Not terrible since the gravy would sog them up but the gravy was so thick they didn’t get soggy to make up for the extra dryness.
We stayed one night, unexpectedly. We weren’t too picky on the selection at the time based on the reviews on Expedia. However the reviews were seemed hyped up after our experience at the property. Is it good for families? Yes, yes it is. It has a pool/whirlpool and a breakfast. Is it the best? Not really.

Room was dirty, bathroom certainly wasn’t cleaned. Entire floor had an odor of smoke, which they put a small purifier in the hallway after we called the front desk. The hot tub was so cloudy and dirty it wasn’t usable. Water fountain had rust in it. Was told they couldn’t do anything for us since we cooked through expedia.

The desk check in woman was amazing. We have never had someone so exuberant and happy to answer any questions. She has a ready list of nearby places to eat (never experienced this before) and told us to contact her anytime after quiet time at 10:00 about noise and she would be down in a flash to take care of. She had a smile that lit up the lobby.

Unfortunately the bathroom sink only drained VERY slow. There was black mold in the shower. Both were brought to the attention of the front desk in the morning. Someone was to fix them. No one did in our 2 night stay
A staff member helped us get channels on the TV. Reportedly they just changed providers and there were no channel/listing instructions. The breakfast was very good with a variety of options.
Was told at check out no one fixed the concerns as they do that after you check out??? Was told I would receive an e-mail with breakdown of charges. A day later that has not happened.

I had a 2-night reservation. Drove 2.5 hours, arrived in town and stopped for dinner at a local restaurant. At 5:50 pm I received a call from the hotel, telling me they were overbooked and didn't have a room for me and my wife. The hotel rep did say they located a room in another local hotel for me. When I arrived at the alternate hotel, I was told they were full for the next night. Later, I was told I could stay the 2nd night too. It was just okay and cost me an extra $172 for the 2 nights. If the Holiday Inn had contacted me sooner, I could've have looked for an alternate place days earlier. Won't ever make a reservation with them again. How can I trust that I'll actually have a room when I arrive?
