Nice room, nice staff

Terrible, planned work in kitchen so meals stopped early
My room was above kitchen and work preventing anyone sleeping went on until after 23.30
Rang out of hours number but no response
They knew work was happening so why allocate rooms directly above the wirj

Somewhat tired old pub/ restaurant. Situated in ideal middle of town with free parking. Better than normal pub food and good bar area

No air conditioning on top floor. Not good for Summer stays.

A very expensive hotel for such an old room with a bathroom that would really need to be renewed.
Apart from that the bedroom was clean and the staff was nice

We stayed for two nights. We ate in the restaurant on the second night, the food was ok except my wife found some plastic in here meal, it was replaced but, we felt a refund should automatically been offered. The fan did not work in the room, it was swapped. The water in the bathroom from the cold tap was warm. The staff were pleasant. All in all, a pleasant stay. Looking forward to seeing changes when it is refurbished.

Charming hotel in centre of town. Very friendly helpful staff

Breakfast was terrific ,beds firm and comfortable, staff friendly and amenable,on the negative side it’s an 18c coaching Inn and you could be forgiven for thinking that’s the last time it was updated, baths quite high for getting out of comfortably, toilet handle broken and a bare piece of wood behind it used as a supporting spacer, cold water was just above a dribble.Fortunately it was not too cold as radiator Luke warm.Furniture are fixings in and out of room are very tired. I did ask for a quiet room and got one overlooking the Square but considering there was a road right outside my bedroom window the noise level was acceptable.I would like to stay there again as it’s a Great Location and the staff were wonderful but only after it has a promised refurb.

Very friendly staff excellent breakfast comfortable bed

Easy parking at the back of the hotel. Rooms are comfortable and mine was quiet. Pity you can't charge anything to your room e.g. drinks, etc. Breakfast has everything you wish for. Nice croissants as well. Not the first time I stayed here, so hope to be back soon.

Great location, right in the centre of town. Good size room with large bed. Bar / Restaurant downstairs and several restaurants within walking distance. Very good value for money.

Nice traditional and good service

The King's Head is located in the centre of Wimborne, so visiting the lovely town is ideal. The hotel has its own car park which is a bonus.
The room was spacious overlooking the Minster. It was a bit noisy with the morning traffic. The decor is traditional and a little tired but still OK.
If you like a soft bed it's ideal but if you like a firm mattress it's not ideal.
The main thing was that the room and bathroom were clean.
The staff was helpful and friendly.
The restaurant serves good food and breakfast was good.

Where to start….
Food terrible, no taste whatsoever and the waitress almost dropped my food on top of me! Instead most of it went on the already dirty table, whilst I sat next to a dirty chair!
Then in my room…broken toilet, hairs on the bed, fire alarm going off in the middle of the night for no apparent reason and no milk for coffee!
So many basic improvements required!

Lovely clean room, with views onto the square. Comfy clean bedding. Parking is available 1st come 1st served. But parking on high street. Very centrally located.

We stayed here on our wedding night along with many of our guests. The hotel staff did an amazing job of rallying round to enable us to get checked in before the wedding (even coming in on a day off). Massive thanks to everyone for the team effort 😁🙏

Checking in the staff could not be more welcoming and helpful
The second night the fire alarms went off at about 12.30 midnight it was extremely worrying because there were no staff at the property or answering the out of hours phone number we had to call the fire brigade ourselves

Understand it is due for refurbishment

For the price paid this was excellent value for money and is therefore highly recommended. Location very central, lovely staff and free parking.

My room was extremely hot, even though the outside temperature was cool. I asked for a second electric fan which just about made the room temperature bearable. The room and bathroom could have been cleaner but were acceptable.
The area just outside the entrance and the car park were spoilt by litter. On a positive note, the staff were friendly and quickly brought me an extra fan.

Disappointing stay, have been here before last year and it was good but lack of hot water and poor breakfast made it my last time .

Hotel in perfect location. Staff extremely competent and friendly. Food good with enormous portions. Bed and pillows a little hard. No mechanism on door to bathroom. Water luke warm not hot. Otherwise it was an enjoyable stay.

Hotel is very central, and convenient for the pubs and shops. My room was spacious and quiet, even though it was at the front of the hotel. Some of the staff working in the bar need some better customer service skills and improve their communication with each other. One bar lady serving with a green dress on on Saturday the 18th March was fantastic.I would stay there again.

No heating, no hot water, unable to run a bath (water and lack of flow & pressure); got a complimentary breakfast as a result. Limited food availability. None of these were the fault of the hotel, but my porridge had frozen lumps in it, and an elderly female who asked for toast was told to "do it yourself" despite clearly having mobility issues. It's these last 2 which compelled me to write this review. Superior room was on the front, overlooking the main road. With wooden sash windows, none of the noise was blocked out, so cold and noisy wasn't condusive to a good night's sleep.

We had a lovely stay at the kings head. Room was ok and dinner was very good even though there were some shortages in the menu. Breakfast was very good. We were well looked after by the reception staff.
