Did not like not cleaning the room every day and elevators out of order

the hotel had no air conditioning. it didn't work at all. not great when it's in the 80's (high 20's C) at night. I asked for someone to fix it, the staff said all rooms are like this. In the advertisement they said they did have air conditioning. It was also a dirty hotel room that wasn't well laid out. I'd advocate avoiding this place.

Stayed here before. Lovely spacious room and bathroom.
Not as thoroughly cleaned as I woud have expected for a 5* as evidenced by hairs in bathroom and shower and sand on console table and floor.
Staff generally ok and friendly but not as warm/attentive as in some other local hotels.
Reasonable and fairly standard meal selection. Good salads and some freshly cooked foods (grilled fish, pizza, pasta omelettes etc.)
Limited 'animation' more suited to couples seeking a quiet break than families with young children. Would stay again

The food for breakfast was limited and not good. The restaurant was not clean, no AC,flies arpund the food, dust on windows, cabinets, vases, dirty table clothes, plastic caps, no spoon available. Juice was not fresh.
The first room we got was a work in progress. Doety and damaged curtains, dirry sheets, toilet not cleaned, towel on the floor, mini fridge on the floor, dirty Windows, 2 exteas twin beds were in tje room, and.no shower..we did ask them to give us another room...the other room was cleaner a little bit, but there were no rowels until we asksd for them. Please check hotels nwforw you gibe wrong infos to people

Great stay! I have visited Hammamet many times having lived in Tunisia now for more than 3 years and this is one of my top hotels. Hotel staff was friendly and welcoming. The room had a beautiful view of the sea and is steps away from its private well kept beach. The breakfast was good as well. Its also only a short walk to the marina where you can find cafes and restaurants. The pool was also big and clean.

Our friends went to this hotel for their honeymoon 5 years ago and recommended it. They were as disapointed as we were when they realised nothing had been updaded in 5 years. There was a tear in the (outdated)curtains and stains on the towels. It wasn't dirty, the rooms were spotless. But it wasn't the 5 stars hotel that it was back then. We had a room with sea view and weren't disapointed by that. The food was excellent. We were expecting wifi in the lobby only(as advertised) but it was available in both of our rooms. Their private beach was super clean.

Noisy at the room the floors are marble so whenevee other rooms move chairs noise can be heard easily & cairtins are not coverd with black out that prevent light at the room.

The hotel is so over priced for its services and quality. At least you would expect a bottle of water at your suite upon check in. AC wasn't working properly, room safe not working, paid for dinner and was informed that I had to pay extra for any drink, including water.

Not bad nice beach no activity in September a lots of Algerians tourists very noisy and disrespectful

Not bad ,no bathroom at the beach ,no water to wash your feet from sand ,air condition is shut off in all rooms in September it's 85 deg !!!! I guess they wanna safe money on electricity ,the pool tile is very slippery, the pool is old ,need TLC !! 0 activities what so ever ,same music at the reception for 3 days slow sad piano music ,super boring and sad ...the food was ok the first night but not the second it was kind of cheap /restaurant stuff are friendly except the omelette dude who was complaining that he is not getting paid enough to do his job ..also this hotel has a bunch of rude Algerians tourists ,very noisy peoples and very impolite peoples so be aware ,

Good experience and friendly staff, however watch out for the excursion sales guys especially on arrival when they try to sell you a quad bike or boat trip they will follow u around for the sale. Haggle them as its 1/2 the price outside. Don't pay more than 40 dinars for quad bike , u can get it for 30 outside.

Been moved from my original booking in a different hotel , this hotel was imposed on us last min . Been given a voucher for a spa treatment and lunch and dinner . The food was terrible .. And regarding the spa it was made impossible for us to attend as we were given restricted times only if an hour slot .. Which take it or leave it .whuch we could not use . The spa personnel really rude !!

nice hotel, nice pool and beach. food was pretty much the same everyday for our week, so lack of variety made it boring especially with a young child. rooms dont have irons which is disapointing for a 5* hotel so you have to pay to use their ironing service. some staff were friendly, although the majority were rude (especicially cleaning staff) and need lessons on customer services.

I would rate this hotel as 4 star hotel not 5 star. Rooms of this hotel need upgrading. Staff members are ok but sometimes they looked tired. We stayed 5 days and saw same people working from breakfast to dinner. In the reception lutfi was very helpful.

This has not been a holiday but an endurance test which I think I passed with flying colours. This is not a five star hotel. At best four star rating with much improvement to be made by the hotel management. The staff seem to have a really bad attitude with certain guests that has not gone unnoticed by myself and others. They ignore certain guests and are over familiar with guests that are tipping them. They walk a fine line between downright rudeness and over familiarity with paying guests. If you enjoy drinking to the small hours and sunbathing all day this is the ideal holiday choice, but then you might have just picked Benidorm for a travel destination. The staff are the main problem of this hotel they are very artificial not genuine. My travel companion said good morning to the man in the restaurant making omelettes he completely ignored her and smiled and said hello to another guest. The similar thing happened when I went to reception half way through talking to me the woman at reception just turned away and started dealing with another customer's enquiry. Only when I said I wanted the hotel mangers name did I get the attention of these rude staff. The man at the reception panicked and said do I want to put a claim in. Now why would they be worried that I speak to the hotel manager unless they had something to be guilty about. A complaint is going into this hotel. I never want to visit this place again with these horrid staff, one visit was enough.

We stayed here recently after reading some excellent reviews. The location is beautiful, a short walk away from the marina. The hotel overall is nice however definitely not worthy of 5 stars. The room was lovely and spacious with an amazing view of the sea. The food was decent however after a mix up with our board basis we felt that the whole situation was handled extremely unprofessionally by the restaurant manager. Rude ,arrogant man. Not expected of a 5 star hotel. The spa staff were by far the most warm and welcoming. Doubt we will return though

The staff were pleasent if unchallenged, the moment you had a comment/complaint they were different.
The breakfast buffet contained lots of food but not necessarily the type of food you would want to eat or associate with a four star hotel.
The wifi connection was terrible and only worked in the lobby area at certain times of the day.

Excellent service.Huge room, very clean. We had booked half board and because we arrived after restaurant closed,11pm the hotel sent us up a meal to the room.Like majority of hotels here the hotel has a private part of the beach across the road from hotel with sunbeds and staffed for drinks etc.Staff in the hotel were excellent and nice breakfast. The reception staff were also really good.Nice looking pool although we did not try it as only there one night

Average hotel . Location a bit dull. Not much going on apart from the usual souvenir shops.

I stayed here for 4 days and it was a nice hotel. The rooms are really clean and spacious. The downside is double beds are 2 singles pushed together.
We went halfboard and the breakfast was nice. If you want a english cup of tea please take a kettle. Evening meal
was nice lots of variety.
The entertainment in the evening was the best. Had a laugh getting everyone involved.
overall I would recommend this place.

The mass of all inclusive hotels have had a dramatic effect on the local economy, there are few local shops, restaurants and bars and Hammamet is quite run down and many buildings vacant. The hotel needs updating, and a lick of paint would improve its appearance. HOWEVER, the staff are truly what made our stay enjoyable. They are always smiling, kind and welcoming. I read some previous comments that they are a little over familiar, perhaps, but not in a detrimental way. If you embrace the fact that you are in Africa and know that this independent state is continuing its struggle to improve its economy and the welfare of its people, then perhaps like me you will appreciate that you have indeed been privileged to stay in a 5 star property.
Top tip for the British: Leave your stiff upper lip at home and travel with an open mind.

I went to the Iberostar for a girls holiday - the aim was to do nothing and chill out for a week.
The first shocker to 2 British ladies was the lack of kettle. This meant we had to call down to reception for hot water every time we wanted a cuppa. That would be fine, except that room service regularly takes 30mins - whether you're ordering hot water or food - and they frequently got the orders wrong or ran out of XYZ ingredient.
The room was nice, the pool was lovely and overall the place in itself was OK (although not what i would expect for a 5 star).
The food in the morning buffet - i thought - was appalling. I really didn't look forward to it and i basically ate pancakes for a week. The evening buffet was nicer, although not always very nice either.
My biggest issue with the place was the creepy hotel staff!
Every time we asked something to the waiters, we had to put up with various questions about where we were from/ what our names are/ what's our favorite food etc, while being looked up and down. This applied to the majority of the staff, some were very nice and helpful.
But overall, i would not recommend a girls holiday here, we felt very uncomfortable and lost all patience with them by the end of the week - how hard can it be to just serve me what i asked for?
I would definitely not recommend this hotel.

An amazing holiday would definitely recommend. I could not fault any part of the holiday.
Any queries were handle with the up most care and efficiency
The beach had activities like jet ski, paragliding, etc. And by the pool there was always entertainment.

I cannot imagine going to Tunisia without this hotel. This hotel is beautiful, immaculate, oceanfront and has the most amazing staff ever!! Best hotel I have ever stayed in. A must see!!

Great hotel, great staff, great food. It's a lovely area, with a fantastic beach on the hotel's doorstep. People will try and get you in their shops, but if you say no they will leave you alone. It is a safe place for all people, and would be very good for families.

Stayed fir our honeymoon. An excellent experience. Room perfect, view of the sea amazing. Made to feel welcome by staff who have an excellent attitude and make you feel very comfortable. Of particular mention are mr lotfi at reception and ahmed and karim in the dinner hall. All three went out of their way to make our stay special highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Tunisia. The food was excellent.

Food was very very good and nice service and lots of different varied of foods. Each night entertainment music, dance, different shows. I would highly recommend this place for a getaway.

Good hotel overall. We stayed half board which was good as great places to eat nearby. We were a little disappointed that the table tennis was broken for over a month and not been replaced. Although all staff were very polite and helpfull and the food was great it lacked 5star due to little things eg evening entertainment was silly and not much to do .

It was December. The hotel was cold and no attempt to heat the lobby was made.
The room was spacious, but badly maintained. The door frame was weak and needed to be hammered. The safe was broken and could not be fixed. Old stains on the floor were visiable. The breakfast was very poor. The swimming pool was not heated properly.
The staff was nice, but admitted the hotel had deteriorated. The same fring pans were over used for all meals.
It turned out that the Spanish group Iberostar bought the hotel two years ago from Sofitel and decided not to invest a single Dinnar on it. A neglegence that was in evidence everywhere!
