Really enjoyed my stay. The staff was friendly and the area was clean and safe.

Thanks god we only booked this place for one night. Staff there did not speak English except one guy but he wasn't there 24 hours. I was expecting them to help with my luggage but that did not happen. They were not very friendly. We paid for a plus room but it does not have a city view as requested. Beds are small and uncomfortable. Bathroom is small and stuffy. No toiletry items provided. Nice view at the breakfast area in a different building but we did not try the breakfast so cant comment on that. Overall, we did not enjoy our stay there and will not recommend this place. For the same price they charged, we could easily get something a lot better. At least better attitude and hospitality.

The property looks beautiful but the beds are hard as a rock and the pillows are flat. On top of that we would run out of soap or toilet paper and had to ask for it to be replaced instead of it being done when the room was cleaned. Unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend.

The experience at Alemana was great. They have also kept our bags when we went to machu picchu for 2 days and we found them back in our room. We also used the laundry service which was great! Totally recommend!

The 2 nights stept here were the best in South America. We really enjoyed the welcoming staff, the cleanliness and the breakfast. The location of the place is ideal in Cusco as you do not have to go uphill too much. We also used the laundry service from the hotel which was also really good.

Mixed experience. Staff was friendly and helpful and the hotel is clean.
Transportation access to the hotel is not easy. Not recommended for people with accessibility issues. (property is full of stairs).
No central and reliable heating system in the room (only an electric heater). It is very cold in the morning and at night. No heating in the bathroom. Cold water in the sink. Warmer water in the shower (you have to wait). We were 2 people traveling and ask for 2 separate beds in the reservation. We got a room with 3 beds, although nice view. We asked for a quiet room. There was noise until 1:00am and again from 5:30am from the street. In-room safe is not attached to the furniture or wall, so anybody walking in can just pick it up and take it. Not convincing and although staff was helpful trying to accommodate and we did not feel unsafe, we felt that this is not an real and reliable in-room safe service, so felt mislead by Expedia listing this.
Breakfast is very basic (poor) and limited and you have to wait, refill is slow. I think Management should increase the F&B budget and buy at least some ham and cold cut. If you are on low budget and want something clean, basic and you have no problem to put up with some inconveniences, it will be OK for you.

We weren’tthere very long. Just one night. Staff was wonderful. The hotel has flower gardens all around and old wooden floors that bring character. Wish we would had discovered it sooner.

Stayed at the Pension for a total of 3 nights (2 to tour Cusco and 1 more before heading back to Lima and to home). Overall, the hotel was good. Clean, if simple, rooms. Good food. Quiet (relative to other places) location and helpful staff. Only downside was some of the nickel and diming that they did. Any extra fees (taxi, tours, water, food) all had to be paid in cash (sols only accepted) which they do to avoid the Visa fee. As someone who does not carry much cash around, this was quite inconvenient and I was fortunate that my ATM card worked nearby. Also, during my return visit, there was no water in the room (previously 2 bottles for each night). When I went to the front desk to get some, I was informed that I did not qualify for free water as I was a previous guest (guess they didn’t have to impress me).

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Pension Alemana! All of the staff there are so courteous and helpful. The room was very comfortable, my room overlooked the garden. The terrace outside overlooked the city of Cusco. The location was great also, within walking distance of armas square and all the wonderful cathedrals and places of interest in Cusco. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Cusco!

The Pension Alemana is in a great loction, part of San Blas neighborhood. It has beautiful grounds and a wonderful breakfast. It was delicious. The rooms were simple, but cozy. The gardens are beautiful. The staff was flexible with letting us leave our luggage for when we had to checkout out late to catch and overnight bus and letting us use the facilities till then as well. We had a wonderful stay here and would stay again.

We stayed here for 3 nights. Had to check in by 6am. Front desk were very friendly and got our room ready even though it was ahead of the usual checkin time. Breakfast area gives full Cusco city view. This place is walkable to the main San Francisco square and other plazas. Had super comfortable stay here. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Cusco.

The location is great. Only 10 min walk to the Plaza de Armas, but on a very quiet street in Las Blas. The room was a nice size and very charming. The staff is very helpful and make you feel like they are really happy to have you as a guest. Yes, it took some work to get a smile from the lady at the reception when we arrived in the evening, but she is nice once you break the ice. We started out in a hotel just off the Plaza de Armas that was very noisy, dark and impersonal, and were very happy to switch to Pension Alemana. Would definitely recommend.

Hotel is nice but it is uphill, about 15 mins walk from the main square. Not all staffs speak English. One we needed to use a translation apps to help, but somehow he still made a mistake for our packed breakfast. Hotel can arrange packed breakfast if you leave early for your tours. Hot shower. Room with heater. Comfy bed.

Clean, charming, comfortable, very lovely breakfast, and lovely and helpful staff. Great location, in walking distance to everything we wanted to see. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

We stayed here for 4 nights in total (2 before our Inca Trail and 2 after) and it was our favourite by far. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was comfortable, clean and attractive and the setting was gorgeous. We loved the little garden and the views from the rooftop cafe. The food was fresh and tasty. A bit of a walk up the hill (good altitude training!) but very pleasant. We loved Cusco, we loved Pension Alemana and we will definitely be back soon.

Pros: All of the staff are very friendly. The view from the cafeteria is stunning. Wifi is very fast during the day and might get a bit hiccup during the night when everyone is back which I am okay with it. Juan and the lady (sorry didn't get her name) at the cafeteria are very nice and helpful and made delicious eggs.
Cons: There is another hotel in front of ours and they are doing some expansion work and might get a bit noisy during early morning. Also there are some inclines and steps when you walk back to the hotel. We are both in mid-20s and we were panting after all those steps. We only carry backpacks so it was not a big deal but If you have large/heavy suitcase you might better off getting a taxi.

Our stay at the Hotel Pension Alemana was due to a recommendation from a local. We were pleasantly surprised with the hotel, room, staff & amenities, including an onsite restaurant/cafe/bar that was open for the included breakfast as well as during the day & at night for snacks, meals & drinks. Our room included a balcony that looked out over Cusco - a wonderful view particularly at night. Our only minor issue was the number of steps to climb to reach our room & the restaurant.

We recently took our first bucket list trip to see Machu Picchu in Peru, after spending 4 nights in the sacred valley and seeing all the sights, we moved on to Cusco for 3 nights where we stayed at B&B Hotel Pension Alemana which is a lovely small hotel in the San Blas area of the city. Lots of small roads and pedestrian alleyways chuck full of shops and restaurants, we found that the seven saints & seven sinners grill located right in the hotel where we had our breakfast each morning also offered the best value for our travel budget.

Stayed here to get acclimated to altitude in Cusco before doing a 5 day Inca Trail hike. Beautiful view of city from atop the hill.

We arrive around 10 am and were greet with some tea and a very nice front desk staff. The room was clean, warm and safe. The cafeteria staff was great too. I will recommend it to other people and stay again on my next visit to Cusco

I am 55 years old (Mom), travelling with my 24 year old daughter. We both liked the hotel, and liked that the area was quite safe. We didn't mind the steps going up to the hotel and didn't find the walk bad at all from the town centre (only a few blocks). We were happy not to be staying closer to the centre - "youth hostel central".
The hotel had heaters in the rooms, and a fireplace in the common area which was very comfortable. We didn't spend a lot of time in the room, but it was fine. Ours (room 201) was perhaps the noisiest in the hotel - windows on three sides and over top of the front desk so we were awakened by parties on the street, and everytime a guest needed help at night, if voices weren't muted. Three nights out of six required earplugs; but there are quieter rooms and if you're noise sensitive just let the hotel know before arriving and I'm sure they would accommodate you.
Bathroom - all worked; heaters worked; you can order beer from the front desk for cheaper than you can get it on the street. Tea and cold water is available anytime (but don't fill up your water bottles - they'd like you to buy water for that). The restaurant serves a great little breaky, lots of variety. We looked forward to it. They also had a light dinner menu that was fine too - and their pisco sours were some of the best we had in Peru. Prices are good by Cusco standards. It is very comfortable to take your guide books and sit in the restaurant.

We stayed here for four nights while trekking around Cusco Peru. I really enjoyed my stay here. The place is very pleasant, the breakfast was great (fried eggs, homemade bread and jam, natural yogurt, home made jam, fresh squeezed orange juise). My room was pleasant. The bathroom was large, plenty of hot water. The whole place was very clean. If I ever came back here I wouldn't even look for another place to stay. The staff was helpful with some travel problems we had. I am writing this in the breakfast area on the wireless internet that they provide.
