Beautiful place , excellent staff, clean and comfortable. Couldn’t ask for a better experience.

Great location if you’re going to concert at Moody Theater. But I feel like hotel is overpriced. Our room floor felt dirty and there towels felt like sand paper. The bar area down stairs is nice.

Major construction at hotel, not great room, door left open after cleaning staff in

There was no mention the property was under construction. Temp front desk, no proper lobby or restaurant and pool was just a night club with 20 something’s hanging around the pool edges with drinks and pounding music. Seems it is leased out to a separate entity because could not even get ice from them when no ice machines working on floors. Guess a lot of this speaks to Austin in general. Definitely feel the squeeze on consumers and if you want something good you will have to pay, and I mean pay pay pay. For the hotel, probably should have been me doing due diligence and phone ahead to check things like construction.

I was a bit disappointed in the way renovation/construction interfered w/my expected 5 star stay. I had no "W" experience other than the roof top pool all at extra cost. The previously beautiful street level is caged and boarded up. You enter via service elevator behind the valet stand. Extension chords running through water everywhere, trash. The hotel was dingy. WiFi was spotty. Waited 40 minutes for car/valet/with two dogs and luggage. Rooftop pool and surroundings were dingy from parties. From the room cost, parking and additional fees and the fun money I chose to fork out up at the pool it was a $1k night for a "motel" experience.

Property is under remodelation, there is no lobby and they charge a full rate

There is construction going on so once this completes things will be a better.

Front desk customer service was pretty bad. Not pleasant, welcoming, nada! Didn’t even seem like they cared if we were there or not. Stayed in some other hotels in the area and customer service experience was top notch.

no mention of being under renovation. the staff are unattentive, no one answers room service or concierge. understand renovations are needed but you should warn ppl, im done with W hotels

Lobby is under construction so you have to enter via a service elevator. Pool was murky and disgusting looking, rooms were dated, found out because of the above they were selling off rooms for alot more than i paid. Rooms are dated and being periodically updated but just so many better hotels. Overall an underwhelming and disappointing stay

Loved the distance to ACL!!

property was under construction but well disguised and very clean. We were met by staff at the entrance, lead us to check-in and our room. Booked last minute due to an event cancellation, staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Under construction. Access was through narrow winding hallway. Flooded entry so had to walk through a puddle to get out and in. Had to switch elevators to get to our room from downstairs. Toiletries were dirty, dispenser broken. I wouldn’t stay there again.

There’s no warning that the hotel is going trough renovations. No lobby no upscale bar or restaurant, rooms should be priced much lower until the hotel is fully renovated

Staff was very nice. Con: Bathroom had strong smell of urine and sink area was not clean.
2.0 / 5.0
Hotel access and lobby under construction. We had to wait more than 2 hours for check in even tough we get there by the time said check in
They didn’t have the rooms available or ready

I was never told or warned that it was under construction. There were no restaurants or bars open. Which I understand because it was under construction. But even the pool had a limited menu and some of the amenities like the showers were closed. I found it unacceptable that I had to pay the price of a hotel that had all the amenities open and was not even given a warning that it was under construction when making the reservation. It’s something that should be on the website.

Property is being renovated. This information should have been shared up front

Terrible stay. Water system is so loud, the moment someone chooses to shower in the floors above or below, it will wake you up. When someone on your floor opens a room door, your room door will move, disturbing your sleep. The checkin and general layout is really bad. Took us 15 minutes to get out of the lobby floor to the exit due to the lift system and about 40 people in line.
Don’t stay here. Money better spent elsewhere.

Under construction making check-in difficult. No one to help with bags getting to 3rd floor checkin.

Orbitz didn’t inform me that the W in Austin was undergoing major renovation so no big lobby, no bar, rather a side entrance and a temporary front/desk lobby area (nice).
I got charged 14.95 for wifi without even understanding/knowing that was happening and now they are refunding me, but I had to contact them and all. The personnel was extremely kind and helpful, the room was a good room on a high floor in the corner, nice, not cheap.

We had an extraordinary stay at the W. The staff was friendly and helpful and very accommodating. I was treating a dear friend who has a terminal illness to see Jon Baptiste perform next-door at ACL Theatre. We were treated like queens from start to finish. Our stay and the concert are now lifetime memories never to be forgotten. I highly recommend the W I feel so grateful for being treated so wonderfully.

We had a fabulous stay at the W! Reviews I read before booking were helpful to give the heads up on the hotel undergoing a renovation. However, after speaking to the hotel, went ahead and booked a room (corner queen- nice views and spacious). Lobby is currently under extensive renovation, but the hotel did a nice job walling off unsightly construction and plenty of nice, helpful staff to direct you, if needed. Rooms, restaurant, outdoor pool and bar, spa not affected as of now.

Good location for acl live music venue. Staff was very courteous and helpful.
Property under construction so arrival area trimmed down to basics. No coffee available, limited options. GFI in bathroom bad.

It was the perfect place to stay if you were going to see a concert at Austin city limits.!

The property was convenient to my destinations. I give the staff the highest rating. However, the hotel itself is not a 4-star hotel. It's way too expensive for what you get—small rooms with few amenities and weird, impractical design.
Stuff for sale in the room everywhere made it feel like some cheap Vegas dump.
The air filter in the room was accessible, and it was filthy. There are too many good hotels around for me to go back here.

The swimming pool area was not accessible

Hotel room was good. Hotel is currently undergoing remodel which was not disclosed at time of booking. The booking was also non-refundable. If we were to have knowledge of the ongoing remodel we would not have booked this location. As stated, the remodel should have been disclosed by both the W Hotel and Hotels.com.

Excellent service, walkable to great restaurants and great amenities!!! Got upgraded to a corner suite that's super deluxe and comfortable!!!
0.5 / 5.0
The property is undergoing construction. They have NO business charging that much $$ with little to no services. No bar, no lounge and a weird second floor setup with virtually nothing. WAY overpriced for what you get

If not the lap of luxury it’s the hip! Totally encapsulates the cool Austin vibe—centrally located at a luxe location. Quiet, sumptuous, clean, and discreet. The Living Room bar vinyl turntable for the win!
