The staff was friendly and since we were there off season the price was right. This is a motel setting as the rooms all have outside facing doors which wasn't a problem except on the bottom a ton of light came into the room at night. Most like us seemed to accommodate for that by placing items around the curtains. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. Staff was friendly and very helpful.

The lady at the front counter during check in was amazing. She was very friendly, very attentive, very helpful, and overall one of the best front desk people I’ve ever met. She wasn’t bothered by us asking questions or needing more towels. She talked to us as if we had known her for years.

I just decided to do an impromptu trip to the beach, this place was offering a room at $47dollars for the night right in the heart of beautiful Port Aransas. I was a little skeptical given the price but the reviews were excellent so decided to give it a try since I was just by nyself and just needed a place to crash and shower. Well I was exceedingly pleased to find it was a fantastic place clean, super friendly front desk clerk obvious to me these owners know how to give great customer service and hospitality. I’ll definitely be back

Overall stay was great except the AC unit in my room (110) was too loud and would wake me up every time it turned on and the TV’s color was horrible and I couldn’t fix the color settings. Also, it would be great to have an extra waffle maker or two as I had to wait for almost 30 minutes to make waffles for my nephews even though there was very little people in front of me to make the waffles.

Bathroom smelled of urine. Shower curtain looked dirty, old, stained on bottom. Had to have television replaced, due to "blue" picture. Mattress cover had stains, ceiling light fixture was rusted (probably original fixture)

Perfect get away.Took my wife to the Beach to get her away she lost her Mom and needed some time away, I took her to where her mom loved going, The hotel was close to the Beach and was very nice!

Island Hotel is our go to hotel for a weekend getaway at Port A. It is old, not nice, but functional. The staff is friendly. The breakfast is the usual waffle, cereals, bagels (no meat or eggs). The pool is nice. It is not far from town or beach.

The kitchen was dirty and old, we found cockroaches in the sink. There were cockroaches at the bottom of the pool and the floor was dirty and had sand from the beach on it. There was no small shower to wash off the sand. It's expensive for the house.

The first room they put us in the A/C was not working nor the hair dryer outlet. They moved us to another room really quick which was appreciated but there was no hair dryer, the bathroom door was really dirty and to top it off we had super loud people next door. Like at 1:30 A.M i tried to call the front desk and the phone was not working. Overall really bad experience. The only good thing about this place was the staff. I would never stay there again.

Staff seemed okay, not much interaction other than check in. Area was convenient traveling to the beach. Room in my opinion was very dirty floors felt crumby, you could see the dirt around the perimeter of the beds, after a shower I dragged my feet on a towel and the towel was VERY dirty. There was food under the drain plug in the sink. Black spots that may or may not be mold on the edges of the mattress cover. I would love to feel a nice clean and comfy place they really dropped the ball on cleanliness.

It was a good stay. Front desk was nice and efficient. We asked for some wash cloths and they were delivered to our room very quickly. Room was clean. We stayed one night, celebrating my sisters birthday early (Aug 26th) who passed away 1.5 ago. We would ALWAYS go to Port A and stayed here for our bdays every yr. it was all together a good stay. That’s why we’ve always come back here bc we have never had an unpleasant stay. I do recommend Island Hotel, and I will be back. Lots of good memories here for me.

It's an ok place to stay if you won't be in your room very long. Rooms with 1 bed have absolutely no view. Ice machine was never working. Breakfast was good. Easy beach access.

Our stay at Island Hotel was just okay. Our room had a musty smell upon arrival that never really went away. The room wasn’t dirty but probably could have used one more sweep. Our door did have a gap when shut, which could have contributed to the musty smell. The breakfast was okay, nothing special. Our kids really enjoyed the pool. Close to beach and restaurants which was nice.

The time we stay there was almost no guests but they give us a corner room that was super small with the bed basically outside. Lots of disgusting dog or cat hair everywhere in the room, even in the bed. The only good things about this place was the waffles and easy access to the beach. No clean towels either. Or good pillows.

This was our 2nd visit to Port A. I decided to try this hotel cause it advertised its location from the beach. It wasnt walking distance but a short drive. A short drive to local dining. The best part of room was the beds, both my son agreed the beds were very comfortable. I appreciate the extended breakfast time 6-10a. Overall, we will return.

The noise levels were absurd. People running the halls in the middle of the night. Loud and discouteous guests above us were moving furniture what felt all night. The room and bathroom had alot of mold amd mildew and smelled. The water pressure was severly low. The grass was not cut and no where on the website does it say they charge for pets. Not happy

Island Hotel Port Aransas is a clean budget friendly hotel. The grounds were clean, the pool was clean (though the mosquito's were bad) and the room was cold and clean. Beach is a few minutes drive away and so are all the bars and restaraunts.

My family and I had a great vacation! The hotel met our needs and did not interfere with anything. Just like other reviews, there was a lot of light coming thru around the door, the floors and mirrors would get really wet, we had 3 people staying in the room and had 3 towels and only 1 wash rag, when we went to ask for more wash rags they didn’t have any so they gave us hand towels to use. These aren’t complaints from us bc these things did not interfere with us having an amazing time in Port A. Overall, it was good!

There was stains on the top sheet stains on the shower curtain the floors could have been cleaner the ice maker was not working the whole time we were there. Looks like the cleaning crew came through clean the little bit and left there was also pee on the bottom part of the toilet.
