Very beautiful hotel!

Location and room was very good however, customer care and service in the restaurant was fair.

The view to Shark Bay was outstanding from our suite. There are 276 steps from the sea to Reception at the top. A great workout everyday. The pool area is beautiful - a small gym served me well. The property is high on a hill top w a steep walk down (or up) to the main road or villages - the property is a ways from the main villages so you’ll need taxi or hotel transport w various drop and pick-up times - the main dining room/restaurant was lovely - great food and service when we choose to dine

I loved our stay at Jamahkiri! It was so restful and peaceful after two weeks of busy tourism. The staff is unbelievably kind and generous. We used the pool, diving club, and restaurants. Couldn't have asked for a better scenario!

Nice views also away from any noise

This is probably the best hotel on Koh Tao.
The staff are amazing. There’s a number of steps as the rooms are in the cliff, but exercise on holiday is fun.
This is a must stay place, peace, tranquility and lovely caring staff.

The overall stay was brilliant. Wonderful property and the view from our room was beautiful. The staff were wonderful people, very friendly, although were not as attentive as some of the staff in the other hotels, for example they forgot our breakfast order one morning so we just sat there for ages. A few minor things to work on, but overall would recommend, especially to anyone looking to learn to dive.

I had high hopes for this property, but it is far from everything on the island, it is very hilly with a lot of stairs and a person frequently injuring herself, it wasn't the best. The floors in the room are very slippery and I almost fell a few times. The water from the taps was also brown, so I didn't feel safe brushing my teeth with it or even taking a shower. Luckily I was only there for a night. I would consider another property on Koh Tao before coming back to this one.

Incredible view on shark bay, which is best location in koh Tao. A little bit old room compared to renovated villas on the left side of resort

Calm place with nice, clean rooms and balcony over the water. Beautiful views from the different areas sneaked in between rocks. Very good dive center withing 50m. Restaurant is great. The place is isolated which is nice for couples, but might be boring after some days for singles.

A lot of stairs. Breakfast was ok but way overpriced and nothing special. Restaurant was ok, menu rather small, with less variety. Friendliness of the staff at reception was acceptable. However the spa was closed during our stay, which is odd as „spa“ is within the hotel name. There is no beach directly accessible from the hotel.
Diving Center was good, professional guides, very nice rental equipment, they had their own boat directly at the marina for short trips!
Cocktails at the pool bar were pretty good!

This is such a gem. The resort is nested in the best bay of Koh Tao. This is where daily small snorkeling cruise operators bring their customers to see the huge sea turtles and black tip sharks that live in the bay ( we saw both !). The resort's staff is very caring especially Mr. Nice the manager in charge when we were there (from dec 24 2022 to Jan 2nd 2023). He helped us with all our requests and more important it was a great source of local restaurant knowledge suggesting the best restaurants to eat. The rooms are not the newest around but they are clean and cozy. Best place to stay in Koh tao by far, if you want be in luxury environment (as luxury as you can be in Koh Tao that is a very chill out island)

Incredible resort. Beautiful scenery, views and the food was great. Many stairs, can be a bit hard at times, but it's all worth it. Service was also fantastic.

We stayed at the hotel for several days. We paid for an additional night since we were taking the overnight ferry, and they moved us to a different room where the shower didn’t work nor the AC, so that was highly disappointing. I would not stay there again.

Beautiful setting to enjoy ocean and quiet getaway. Luxurious room and facilities. Friendly staff delicious food and very clean resort. We were so pleased to have chosen this place to stay for our Koh Tao dive vacation. Snorkeling in front of hotel is also excellent. 3 times per day shuttle service to piers if you want to enjoy beach, restaurant, shops.

Sure to covid all facilities except the main restaurant and the pool were closed. We had a pool bungalow that was fantastic in all aspects. The food was very good. It's difficult to swim or another on the sea sure to difficult access. Overall a very good experience albeit location not great.

Outdoor swimming pools and restaurants are all closed.
You can only play in the room and you can barely see the staff.
It is difficult to contact the reception , but it is still running.
Pick-up cars go regularly.

orgeous resort with views that are amazing. Don’t let the mile to town fool you. I walk everywhere and this is not walkable. The road to town is steep and sandy. At night there are not lights. There’s a shuttle but unless you’re planning to shop, dine and get a spa treatment it’s hard to spend the 3.5 hours between rides. Also there are stairs everywhere so if you have any sort of mobility issue I would avoid. Stairs from pool to restaurant... more to reception... from reception to my room it’s down three flights and then back up one. From there is was maybe four flights down to the ocean. The stairs are varied heights, widths and have wavy edges to you need to pay attention. Food in the restaurant was average and priced as a resort. I think one of the dishes had gone bad one night. Business was slow while I was there due to covid travel bans and I was trying to order things freshly made. My “from the wok” dish was a stew that had soured/gone rancid.I misplaced a key (standard plastic room key card) and was charged $15.Tried to make spa appointments before I arrived sad was told it wouldn’t be an issue. They ended up being fully booked (which is shocking bc the resort was EMPTY). Dive shop was great to work with but you can stay closer to town and the beaches and they’ll come get you. (I would have done that had I known.)

This is a MUST, to stay here! You have to be able to walk since there is a lot of steps but, IT WORTH IT! The View over the Sea is spactacular and the water down below is Good for snorkling. If you are lucky you Will see baracuda and reef sharks! Enjoy a beer at the pool and look down in to the ocean or Walk (book bungalow 01, 02 or 03 since they are closest to the water!) all the way down and jump in to it! One Word, ENJOY!!!

we stayed for one week at this beautiful hotel. Everything was fantastic except for the the disgusting smell in the restaurant and pole areas. half of the restaurant is allowed to smoke, the problem is that the other half that is smoke-free sits with the rest and the smoke blows throughout the restaurant. the same is the pole, the whole area is a smoker's paradise. as a defence, they said: we French people like to smoke.

Excellent resort except be prepared for a workout every day up and down steep steps. Nice pool area, very good breakfast selection in a nice restaurant with great views over Shark Bay and a nice breeze. Our evening meal was a bit disappointing. Nice room with sea view balcony and comfy bed.

It is an amazing, relaxing, oceanfront property with excellent snorkeling right from the resort.

Nice hotel with a nice pool. We stayed in one of the pavilions which had a good view of the ocean. There are a lot of stairs so not for the low mobility traveller.
There is no direct access to a sandy beach. You can swim in the ocean but ocean floor rocky/coral where the hotel access is.
Breakfast underwhelming. Ate dinner at the restaurant one evening but wasn't as tasty as the restaurants in town.
Hotel shuttle convenient. We ended up hiring a scooter which I would recommend.
Overall pleasant stay.

I enjoyed the stay. It would be nice to have an option to have another way to get to the rooms other than walk so many stairs. At the restaurant during the buffet, have all of the food covered to protect from flies.

When I realized that there are no ferries travelling to koh tao after 5.30pm, I tried to cancel 1 night at Jamahkiri as I would be landing in Koh Samui at about 8pm. However, they said they couldn't do a refund and didn't offer me anything else in exchange for a wasted night.
I also got into a fairly painful motorbike accident in Koh Tao during one of the days that I was there and I had a wound that was pretty deep and kept bleeding. So i had a shower, and I used their towels to dry my body and some of my blood got on their towel and they charged me 500 baht for "dirtying" their towel. It's not like i can stop the blood from flowing right? Jesus.
It's a nice place don't get me wrong but these 2 points that I've listed above makes it seem that their only interest is in the money and not their guests.
On a positive note, if you want to learn how to scuba dive, their diving center has some of the finest instructors who are super patient and friendly and accomodating.
