Excellent small hotel close to the zocalo and most interesting places in Oaxaca. Staff is super accomodating!

Beautiful hotel with unique rooms. Close to many restaurants and Zócalo. The staff was very kind and accommodating which many hotel chains in the area lack. However the staff here were always a step ahead in meeting your needs. Highly recommend when visiting Oaxaca.

Friendly and very helpful staff. Very clean and nice rooms. The only disadvantage is the shutters on windows make the room very dark.

Great hotel, clean and very friendly staff!!

All of the hotel would have been excellent except the day before we were to return we had to deal with a virtual extortion of one of our people in our group. We are convinced it was an inside job of an employee working at this hotel. Security is a big concern so I wouldn’t recommend this hotel for that reason.

we were very happy to stay here, I loved the welcoming ambiance and the staff. Our room was large, quiet and comfortable. 3 blocks away from the andador, very convenient and the included breakfast was delicious.

We stayed at Hotel Azul over a a sunny weekend in February. Our room was right next to the cleaning / storage room and stag kept passing by and arranging items loudly at all times. The room’s only window overlooks the passage so we felt very exposed.
As in some other hotels in Mexico, the toilets are not separated with a door from the rest of the room, which could be an uncomfortable feeling for some.

I liked this hotel because it offers a completely unique experience and architecture close to the centro shopping and entertainment. The rooms are large enough to share with friends.

Would be better if the room window could be open to let sunshine to get in the room, bathroom area has a door and the waiter in the restourant could be able to speak English...

The location was excellent as were the Staff themselves but we were very disappointed with the hotel itself. We had water issues the first night causing great inconvenience when we wanted to shower. The following days we had water but had to leave water running for well over 15 mins to get the hot water in the sink or shower. And while we didn’t use the AC much the controller was not as easy to use - we had to fiddle with it a bit to get it to turn on. For a hotel in this price range these flaws are both unfortunate and a real let down.

We loved our stay in Hotel Azul Oaxaca. The staff is very kind and efficcient, they made everything pleasant. Breakfast included was delicious and they have healthy choices, we also enjoyed our afternoons in the terrace having a drink and enjoying music. The location is great, so close to the places of interest in downtown Oaxaca. Thank you so much for making us feel welcome! We will be back and will reccomend you to our love ones!

It's Horrible STAY AWAY.
First off I called the Hotel to request an airport pick up and was told it was 300 pesos. I agreed and booked it. When the driver dropped us at the hotel he told us it was 600... the women I spoke to lied and said she never told me the price. Total rip off.
Than I inquired about the tour price which she quoted at 300 pesos an hour... lied again and said it was actually 400.
The room had no light!!! it faced a courtyard and of course you can't open the window because everyone would be able to see you. It was like a cave... dark dark dark.
I left and found another place... went back to tell them I was checking out and they did not care at all - didn't even ask me why!!!! And refused to give any refund back on a 3 night booking.
Hotels.com also was not very helpful in trying to get me my $ back considering I've booked countless rooms with them. Only thing I got was a small credit. I expected more for having been a gold and silver client.
I would NEVER send anyone to that hotel.

location is very good , center of area .

Beautiful and clean hotel. Our room was immaculate and very well laid out. The bathroom tile was gorgeous and they had nice shampoo/soap. I typically bring my own but these were nice! The two courtyards were each unique and lovely. We enjoyed spending time in both. The breakfast was so delicious! Exceeded my expectations. Location is fabulous - close to everything but not so close that you hear the noise. I highly recommend - I would tell my mother to stay here.

I had a great time in Oaxaca. The hotel was lovely, and the staff was very helpful. No complaints.

Awesome staff, willing to get you anything you ask for. The food was great. The beds were comfortable. My ONLY complaint is that there was only one chair..

This is a beautiful hotel, but when the sun isn’t shining it’s a very cold room (no heating)

Oaxaca and Hotel Azul were spot on. In a great location and rooms were modern and had everything you need.
4.4
Hotel Azul has a fantastic Oaxaca ambiance. It is in walking distance of wonderful restaurants, the Zocolo, and most of the other sites you would want to visit. The staff is exceptional, so kind and accommodating. They often helped us with making reservations, finding directions, etc. The food at the hotel was delicious, and the included breakfast was a great added bonus. I would definitely stay there again.
4.4
We very much enjoyed our stay--the rooms feel like little cabanas and the courtyards and cute little terraza give it a tranquil feel. Service was very attentive and nice. Great area, seemed like we never had to walk more than 2-5 blocks to go to our next place of interest during our entire visit.

Good Location, nice breakfast, rooms are great good place for a weekend

This hotel is used as a venue. Every night hotel hold parties with loud music and noisy people. There was no way to have a decent sleep... Worst thing is that in the morning, hotel had a bachelor party making this impossible to have a nice rest. Common areas are leased to locals to have their private parties. GM was useless and not helpful at all.

We had second visit to this hotel.
We love this hotel with everything, delicious break fast, rooms with fascinating design and friendly staff.
If we have chance to visit Oaxaca again, I think we will chose this hotel again.
Rather, I'd like to be back to this hotel.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Azul. The hotel design is impressive and the location is perfect (easy walking distance to all tourist attractions in town, but just far enough off the main tourist strip to be a bit secluded). My only quibble with the building is that I found the bathroom layout awkward. The breakfast was great and the staff were friendly and helpful. We had an early departure on the last day and had a few issues as the arrangements we had made re: taxis and breakfast were not taken care of, but we managed to get it sorted out. Despite that little hiccough, we would definitely stay there again.

Great hotel!
beautiful, clean, and the staff is very very helpful and friendly! Would definitely stay here again.
4.4
GREAT location. Smartly designed. Great value. Very clean and comfortable.
4.4
The rooms are designed with artworks created by local artisans but also has an edgy style.
4.4
Awesome atrium designed by one the best Oaxaca artist, great service, breakfast quesadillas hand made for you. Bicycles to move around town made the experience even better. Private Temazcal and massage for my wife. And the list could go on and on. You must experience it personally to truly appreciate it.
