Excellent costumer service, delicious breakfast!

Good location. Walkable for food and town center. But rooms are tiny and can use updates.

We had a wonderful stay and will definitely return to this hotel when we are back in La Fortuna. It is in the center of town with lots of good restaurant option nearby. There is a great open patio to hang out in and the restaurant connected to the hotel is great.

Nice hotel in the center. I would recommend for those who want to say in the city. A little bit noisy. Clean rooms

We enjoyed our one night stay. The room was clean and quaint. The atmosphere was enjoyable.
It was nice to have a secured place to park. The staff were helpful and with our stay we received a simple, yet sufficient breakfast.
It was a fabulous location in walking distance to shopping, drinks, and food.

If you are looking for a five-star hotel with all the amenities, this is not your hotel. But if you are looking for a quaint, well-run hotel that is in the heart that all La Fortuna and the surrounding area has to offer, this is a great experience. I say "experience" instead of "property" because Los Colina's is more than the sum of it's parts.
THE GOOD: Great service; perfect location; and a laid-back vibe that is reminiscent of the 60's. You are close to all the area has to offer. There are three floors; the second is a primarly open viewing platform outfitted with tables, chairs, sofas, places to play cards or chess, and a view of the volcano that only a helicopter ride could provide. The other guests were friendly, adding to the vibe. If I was in my 20's or 30's, OR an aging European "Hippie," I would never want to leave.
THE NOT SO GOOD: If you are looking for amenities that have become standard in most hotels, some are missing here. It is a three-story hotel, and there is no elevator (the front clerk carried my heavy luggage up the stairs); I was in suite 311, with air conditioning - most rooms have fans for cooling. And my bathroom, although spotlessly clean, looked like it needed to be refurbished for a few decades. Everything worked, it was just old.
Summary: If you are looking for the Ritz, or even a Holiday Inn, this ain't it. But if you wish to blend in with the post-60's crowed, and be surrounded with very friendly guests and excellent staff, come here.

Lovely family owned property in the heart of la Fortuna. Staff were lovely and the hotel as described.

My stay at the Las Colinas hotel was very comfortable and safe. I stayed 4 nights and found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. Any questions or special requests I had they did whatever they could to support me. The restaurant was very accommodating to my gluten allergy, which was a great relief. The street noise is quite loud during the day but gets quiet around 10 pm. Common areas were being upgraded while I was there, which was nice to see the investment in the property. I would stay again, the location was great to see the highlights of La Fortuna!

The property location is excellent and the upper common area is a gem, but a little noisy at night. Staff are very friendly and courteous. Room 28 is clean but smelled overwhelmingly of mildew that dampen our stay. We didn’t ask to change room since the lower common area smelled a little musty also. So we thought all rooms must be about the same.

Liked everything except the Saturday night 3AM motorcycles.

Location is right in downtown and 2 min walk to shopping, restaurants. Beautiful park on the corner. You can see volcano from patio and while walking around town. Really good - make to order - breakfast. If you are looking for seclusion, quiet getaway this is not the place because it’s right in town.

The location is amazing! The staff goes above and beyond to make sure we are safe. One staff member accompanied me to the ATM and bus terminal early in the morning to make sure I was safe. The rooms are great quality for the price and they are cleaned every day. There is also AC! I would recommend. Very safe.
The only negative is that it didn’t have very strong water pressure in the showers.

The hotel location was convenient, and the staff were wonderful. Bar and restaurant at the property were great. However, the room itself was very bare-bones, and while I’ve stayed at many hotels in Central America, and expected a similar condition, this one had ants in the bed and extremely poor quality air-conditioning. We spent most of our time in the common areas, because the room was extremely hot and unpleasant.

Really nice place, nice staff, and in the center if everything with a nice view of the Arenal volcano from the 2nd floor terrace

Superb location less than a block from their beautiful Central Park. Restaurants galore and very charming and unique property. Bars and restaurants on two levels. Covered but very open. Room 33 on the 3rd floor has a great view of the volcano but keep your curtains closed as some gawkers come up early to the balcony to snap pics of the Volcano. We wirth it for the view.

The staff was so kind and helpful. Jezer, in particular was fantastic. Lovely people. The food at the bar upstairs was amazing.

Worst breakfast ever, toast rock solid, questionable looking meat. Plantin was the only good thing on plate. We were in room 17 which is essentially in the bar area, happy hour 5-8pm extremely loud. The seating area for the bar is right outside our window that's how close it is, can hear every single conversation.

You get what you see. The staff are all super friendly and helpful. The rooms were as pictured and clean. Good pick if you plan on just using your room for sleeping. Super convenient being in the middle of town if you don't have a rental car.

This is a great property at a very good price. We really liked that it is right in the city with great restaurants and stores and even a bank at a walking distance. The cook to order breakfast was really good.
5/5 on location and the staff. Everyone was very nice and helpful.

This hotel is in town and has been there a long time. It was older, but clean and on a good day would have a great view of Arenal. In the rain most of the walking area is wet, as is the bar. The staff was amazing and handled our luggage and happy hour with ease. The area is on a recovery from Covid and will soon be fully recovered.

Honeymoon suite has an airconsitioner right over the bed that drips on your head while you sleep. The tub is huge but the jets dont work. Very convenient to have a bar and food eight outside though. Very centrally located as well. Staff was friendly

Nice hotel we enjoyed staying here so close to all the amenities in the area.

The hotel staff and the bar staff were very nice and friendly. The hotel is located close to the main street and is walking distance to shops, services and restaurants. We are travelling with two teenagers and driving through Costa Rica staying at various cities. Our main reason for booking this hotel was its central location to local attractions and positive reviews on Expedia. We were also keeping an eye on our budget and wanted to book a “good value for money” hotel. This is a ramshackle hotel. The lobby is tucked away into a non discrete room which took some time to find because of the clatter in the surrounding rooms and corridors. The rooms on the first floor don’t have windows and we could see inside the rooms through the doors that were left wide often. Our room was on the second floor near the bar and had a must, mold smell with a mix of sewage. The room amenities are decrepit and the showers area was mildly and dirty. One bed was missing a head board and had bed covers of questionable age and cleanliness. The entire family slept with our clothes on.The room had enough space for two suitcases which when open occupied the entire floor space. The hot water in the shower was a hit and miss. I personally swatted two adult cockroaches and a few smaller ones in the shower. The property locks down after 10pm and you need to make arrangements for the owner to open the door. One night some guests didn’t get the memo and almost broke down the door at night.

Too noisy, musing going and road traffic going well after 11:00 pm. Am traffic starts again at 4:40. There was construction, hardly anyone at front desk and no soaps or shampoos in the bathroom. I had to check out after having two sleepless nights. This place should be dropped by expedia. Not worth the money at all. A canadian and German couple chucked out as we because of the sane reason leaving out others that we don't know of. I asked for the remainder of my payment and was given an answer by a shake of the head meaning NO.

The first thing was how we were greeted, the front desk agent didn’t greet us at all. He didn’t explain anything to us. We had to look for our room because it was hidden and when we asked for assistance, he didn’t want to help us. Do not have a late night check in because parking is down the street in a very dark alley. We also got locked in the hotel and almost missed our flight, we had to leave at 5am and drive to the airport and of course nobody told us we would be locked in. We had to call the tourist police to come let us out. I do not recommend this hotel.

I stayed in the honeymoon suite SOLELY for the fact that this is one of the only hotels with a bathtub. It was a amazing, the view is cool, but the drinks and breakfast was what sealed the deal to make me extend my stay. Also they have a fast laundry service

It’s owned and operated by wonderful Tico family that provides beautiful smiles and great service.
