We enjoyed the views of Ganges and mostly the courteous and respectful staff of all levels. The hotel being right on one of the Ghats, it made us easier to take a battin Ganges. Also free boat ride from the hotel property allowed us to see the entire views of all famous ghats.
The restaurant staff Sandeep and Brijesh provided over and above best services. We will visit the Haveli again in the future.

Outstanding stay, attentive staff, excellent services. Location is unbeatable, puts you in a peaceful central spot of a bustling city. Watching the sunrise over the Ganges from the hotel rooftop is an unforgettable experience. Will definitely recommend.

This hotel is very unique. If you want to experience the Ganga River, this is a perfect location. Hotel offers all 3 meals, it was very convenient for us. You do have to walk to get to the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Beautifully converted former Haveli very close to Tulsi Ghat, overlooking the ghats, with interior courtyard, terrace and rooftop, classical music at dinner, good food, great service.

Good, helpful staff. Good breakfast. The property itself is a bit dated but that adds to some character as well.

Very nice hotel, facilities and location. Staff wonderful. Unfortunately they did not have a morning yoga session as promised so another hour in bed would have been nice.

Great location, right on the ghats, with nice clean rooms, a good restaurant for guests (try the thali), an evening boat ride, and classical music in the courtyard in the evenings. The staff are friendly and helpful, including assisting with luggage and taxis (cars cannot get all the way to the hotel because of the small alleys) and with booking tours (eg to Sarnath). Excellent views of the Ganges from the terrace and the roof. Nice to stay in a historic building, right against the river.

Right on a ghat. Offered a free evening bot trip on the Ganges.

Varanasi is crazy, vibrant and busy. Suryauday Haveli was a wonderful place to stay. Quiet, very clean and very comfortable. Staff extremely helpful and the best thing - its right on a ghat on the Ganges and in the old town.

What an amazing place. I’ve stayed at “fancier” places along the Ganges for a lot more money. And this place is better! Great view that the others don’t have, superior service, exceptional restaurant, great location. When I come back I’m definitely staying here

We were welcomed with a blessing and cup of tea. We came to experience the Ganges. The people, property and location all helped fulfill this reality. The food was delicious with a family environment. Vegetarian and no alcohol on property. This place is real and charming, not grand and luxurious. We enjoyed strolling around the Ganges and the convenience could not be beat, our morning and evening voyeur window to look down to see what was happening on the ghat. The roof top view was spectacular. We would definitely return to this property, simply for the charm of the people who work there, food and location. They helped us coordinate a trip to Sarnath, which was thoroughly enjoyable.

We have stayed in this beautiful located Haveli the first weekend of December. We were warmly welcomed by the staff. They allowed us to check-in early. Served the breakfast on the balcony and helped also with the logistics for our checkout. The rooms are spacious, great showers and good ambiance.

The best of the hotel , is it the people . They are very nice, welcoming, attentive and helpful, always pending on all details . The hotel is very clean and comfortable, like an oasis in the middle of the crazy Varanasi. Location is perfect , right on the ghat area. On the down side the hotel is one hour away from the airport thru a city chaotic traffic and it is situated in an area just for pedestrian so you have to walk about 10 - 15 min thru confusing narrow streets that I assure you will get lost . Very difficult if u have a lot of luggage. No sings and people give you confusing directions. We try to call the day before for the hotel pick up but we could not communicate with the hotel , nevertheless we use the cab stand at the airport, that is almost 3 time cheaper that the hotel price and and we made the walk after without majors complications . The hotel is expensive . During my stay in India , I stayed at only 5 start hotels and this one was the most expensive , and not necessary the best one , but due it is Varanasi maybe is worth it , u can decide. The restaurant on site is vegetarian. I ordered the sample platter and it was very tasty. Read some negative reviews about the price of the food but I think it was good . Unfortunately breakfast was not that great . In general , I had a great time and I would like to thank to all the hotel people that are special and made us feel like a second home . Oh and by the way Varanasi is a unique experience.

After a hectic ride and a walk through alleys to get to the hotel we were greeted with juice, a garment, and a blessing. Being able to look out of the window to see the Ganges and to walk right out of the hotel and be at the river's edge was great. I would recommend doing both the morning and evening boat rides. Our guide, Sanjay, provided us with great information and was great to be with. The food was good and the servers treated us with great kindness and warmth making us feel at home.

Cant beat the location. Comfortable stay overall and some of the nicest amenities in the riverside ghat area. Only issue is the staff is relatively inexperienced, had issues with them fixing the wifi and just generally being a bit aloof. Honestly not that big of a deal and I would stay again here over anywhere else in the area hands down.

Varanasi is India at its most intense. The hotel is in the old city and offers an island of tranquility amidst the sea of humanity.

This hotel was perfectly located right on the Ganges near to everything. The staff were very attentive and responsible. You cannot take a taxi right to the door as it is located down an alley. Maybe book a car through the hotel so that there are people to help with your luggage. It costs 1600 inr for a taxi from the airport which is about 60-70 minutes away. At the moment it is about C$40. Think about arriving at your destination safely, without hassle and just pay the money. Then enjoy. The free boat ride to the evening ceremonies was amazing. The hotel even packed you a small snack and sent tea along. This was lovely and made you feel pampered. The boat drivers were very nice and informative. Buy the candle/flower float for 10 inr from the little boys who board your boat and send a wish to all your loved ones who have passed. If you are doing a budget trip through India, you are not staying at this hotel so put it all in perspective and enjoy your time. The restaurant for breakfast was lovely but you may want to try another place for dinner if you are inclined to try local eats. The hotel offered many choices for westerners but... you are in India, eat some amazing food out there. I personally found the Indian food at the restaurant bland but I guess they were catering for a western crowd. There is a lovely restaurant within a 5 minute walk. Look it up and try it out. You wont be disappointed. Anyone is welcome to contact me for more details on where to go & What to see.

We were warmly welcomed after a long day of flying and driving. Neeraj the manager was able to help us with any needs we had. He went above and beyond with making us comfortable, ordering food, taxis, morning boat ride and anything else we needed. The food was delicious in the restaurant and clean. The service was was good and my friend and I really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is beautiful and has a lot of character. the view from the top of the hotel is beautiful and looks out to the ganges, the buffalos walking the ghats, aspirants and sadhus and washing themselves in the ganges and yet most of the time a sweet silence that is hard to find in Varanasi. If you are planning visiting Varanasi then this is the place to stay to deal with the intensity and non stop bustle of this old city. Also, the hotel will set up the early morning Ganges boat ride for a inexpensive charge, and the boat ride to see the night fire ceremony is quite spectacular as well..

This hotel is excellently well located in the heart of Varanasi. The rooms are nice and the staff friendly. Your host can take care of all of your requests for visits to local sites and boat tours (a must). I would recommend this hotel to anyone interest in being in the center of the action for Varanasi.

The position of this hotel is perfect, near enough to the centre of things to be convenient but tucked away in a quieter part of the waterfront. Staying here was one of the highlights of my month long trip and the hotel provides much more than just a place to stay. Live music in the courtyard in the evenings, it's own boat and car/taxi and excellent food. Staff were attentive and friendly. Although I had booked a normal room I was upgraded to the suit, because it was free for the length of my stay and I had excellent river views and views of Shivala Ghat. Roof top gives a fantastic panoramic view of the Ganges. If I ever return to Varanasi I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else.

Great location close to one of the Ghats. The owner really went out of his way to make sure we were happy ( and we were).
The rooftop terrace is wonderful. You can peacefully view the Gange from above. We would definitely recommend.
