Great facility. Clean. Large bungalow on the water. Not really a swimming beach but beautiful. Food was EXCELLENT. The staff is wonderful. Isabelle, Jenny, Lois, Ava and Bill really made a big difference in our enjoyment. Special people!

I would have given tamanu six stars if they had that option. The place is beautiful and location on the beach makes it very relaxing. Excellent food and wide variety for different diet options. The staff is wonderful and made us feel like family. Thank you for an amazing stay especially Alice, Isabelle, Evy and the entire staff. Looking forward to coming back one day.

We loved this place. The staff is so friendly and caring and the villas as stunning and so comfortable. But the cherry on top is the restaurant, best on Efate!

It is an amazing place. We will be back again!

Local staffs were lovely and bubbly. Hotel provides daily bus into town in the morning (outbound 9:30am, return at 12:30pm.)
If you wish to go to town for dinner, the hotel would graciously provide rides into town (we’d invite the driver to dine with us.)
The ocean front beach view is just stunning and calming.
Nevertheless, try to avoid the coral beach front Villa, if you don’t like living alongside insects/creatures (I honestly couldn’t relax at night time, because there were lizards crapping in bed, next to my pillow… there were loud noise coming from crabs scratching inside the walls in the middle of the night… or in the last few evenings, there were odd, tapping-noise lasting all night long…)
Besides this tiny flaw, this property’s location is really great.

Beautiful ocean views from some of the units, not very good area for elderly people, unable to use swiming pool if you are suffering any disability. Would be a good place for honeymooners.

This is my favourite resort out of the three we stayed at this trip. It's a very intimate feeling place ideal for couples, however, there were families staying here while we were here. The pool isn't the best of all the resorts, however, everything else was the best of the others we stayed at. The staff, the menu and fresh food options and the location are amazing however, you are a long way from shops, so make sure you bring everything with you, including snacks etc. But this will definitely be a resort we return to agin and again.

Vilas are very comfortable with ocean views. Very clean and restaurant offers a nice selection of food.

Beautiful location right on the beach, amazing and friendly staff that could not do enough for us. Local spots to check out, turtle sanctuary, horseriding in the mountains, fire show at the beach bar. Will be coming back to stay in paradise again soon.

Incredible oasis of a property, had everything we needed for a truly relaxing holiday. The staff were warm and friendly and very attentive to our needs, the food was outstanding. Our villa on the beach was clean, bright and beautifully designed. The location was perfect, very quiet and right on the beach with a lovely breeze on most days. The pool was ok and it’s a shame you can’t swim in the ocean too easily as it’s surrounded by coral reef, but it’s so inviting and one of the cleanest beaches I’ve seen, we will definitely be back.

Comfortable accommodation and great service complemented by a fantastic restaurant. Unfortunately the beach is battered by a prevailing South Wester and the sea is not suitable for swimming due to the coral floor and rough conditions. The hotel offers excursions but could do a lot more to compensate for the lack of swimming possibilities. Take the day trip to the blue hole, waterfalls and other beaches by privatecar.

Amazing location with lovely villas. We had the villa with the private pool on the beach which was really nice. The villa was nicely decorated, really stylish and nice finish touches. One of the best villa we stayed in Santo. The rest of the resort is the same standing and even though the villas are next to each other, you don't see the bungalows near by and you feel you have your own space.
Great spa as well!
Food at the restaurant is excellent! Highly recommend to have lunch or dinner there. Not much around anyway.
Great to have a free shuttle every morning to Port villa.
Big low point was the service. The three times we ate there, we had to wait quite a bit to first have the menu and then get served. We even waited 1 hour the last night...(they offered us a glass of sparkling to compensate). But the worst was the chef from the restaurant who was arrogant and rude. Although we complimented him for the food (after waiting 1 hour), he did not look at us or say anything, and left with a arrogant look.... Really disappointing especially for the last night of our honey moon...
Managers and staff are okay but we were expecting more for the price and the standards they promote. Not interactions with guests and they did not come to see us at any time. Although they asked us if it was a special occasion (honey moon), we did not have any special treatments or even attention. (compared to cheaper villas we went where we were offered champagne)...

Solid boutique beach resort. Good staff who are accommodating but may not always get all details clear ahead of bookings so double check. Unsheltered beach can be windy. Down a 7K rough road so best for private beach chill but not a base for site seeing as transport is expensive and takes time.

We booked a beach view villa but when we got to Villa 6 there was no beach view at all - some water glimpses - we were very disappointed as we booked to stay here for our silver wedding anniversary. The location is spectacular and according to their own website “these villas all enjoy stunning views of our famous Tamanu Beach.” So this is what we expected. As they were fully booked we were could not be moved. We also queried the ‘welcome pack’ we were supposed to receive only to find it was a drink we got on check-in - bit misleading on that too! A few other hiccups also marred the start of our stay - no lights in shower or main room, no wifi, TV did not work and the shower did not drain so on first use it overflowed into our bedroom. These has to wait to the next day to be fixed except for shower and wifi. We had no working wifi in the villa during our stay at all.
On more positive notes the rooms were immaculately clean and housekeeping were great. The bed was firm and comfortable. The staff did accomodate a request for our special anniversary dinner in the chapel. Rosy is an asset to the resort and probably wished we engaged with her on the other issues instead of the local manager.
Overall we had a fabulous time in Vanuatu and this resort has the potential to be perfect. It was lots of little things that unfortunately let it down from a 5* stay.

My wife, son and myself spent 5 nights at the resort which is located on a nice, quiet beach about 30 minutes drive away from Port Villa's town. The hotel was clean, staff were very friendly and helpful especially "Pong" who assisted in booking our tours, organizing the return transfer to the airport. Unfortunately,we had a very windy weather and we couldn't swim in the ocean or use our plunge pool. Managed to swim in the resort pool couple of times which was a bit too cold. Would have been much nicer if pools were heated. Would also suggest adding some kids activities/ toys as they might get a bit bored especially when it is hard to swim in cold/bad weather. Thanks

Booked a 5 night break at The Tamanu on the Beach. A month before we departed we decided to get married there too. The manager, Roxi, arranged everything. All went incredibly smoothly and we had the private, intimate wedding we wanted in a fabulous location. Our beach bungalow was new and tastefully decorated with outdoor, undercover bathroom and very comfy beds. The staff at The Tamanu are incredible. They have excellent customer service skills only asking your name once and always address you by your name. Thank you to Dom, the driver extraordinaire and Sam, Nicholas, Alvin, Jane and the restaurant staff. The restaurant food is excellent, I recommend the steak, though my wife would say the seafood curry was best.Excellent beach walks and snorkelling holes just a few minutes away.A car can be booked for you to see the Island at your leisure. Must visit the Beach Bar opposite Hideaway Island, Blue Lagoon and Eton Beach. We will definitely be back.

This beautiful, small resort was exactly as depicted in the photos, in fact it was probably better. The service was outstanding, the food although a little expensive, was amazing. The included breakfast included a good variety to choose from. The room had a great selection of tea bags, which may seem like a small thing, but it matters to me. The beach at low tide does not look terrific, but when the tide is in the view is perfect. The resort is virtually still brand new and is spotlessly clean. We arrived the day after cyclone Donna had blown a lot of debris and broken coral onto the beach and it was cleaned and pristine in less than 24 hours. But it is not the physical things that count for us, it is the people and Ros and her staff could not have looked after us better. Truly outstanding service. We wished that we could have stayed longer.
