Within 3 minutes of entering the room we killed 6 baby German roaches (mostly in bathroom). My boyfriend took a magazine off the bed, set it down, and turned around to a roach on it 10 seconds later. Staff was unreachable, both by phone and in person. Elevator hasn’t been serviced since 2020. Extremely dirty and unwelcoming place as a whole. We had to leave and book a different hotel. I would love a refund.

First of all we have stayed here two other times a few years ago and the place was much nicer. It has gone downhill since then. This place is a dump. No cable, ice machine out of order, mini fridge doesn’t get cold, half the lights in the room do not work, there are electrical outlets hanging out of the walls, the railing on the balcony were lose and we didn’t feel safe leaning on them, the room smelled bad upon first entering, and we spotted a couple of roaches on our last day. I really hope that this place gets new ownership and gets remodeling or something. We will not be back otherwise.

Everything has been pleasant and great except for small things. The ice machine is out of order but the attendant offered to go get ice for us (however I think her shift ended and we did not get the ice) , the TV was not cable ready so no TV, which is not a big deal got out party, and there is no fridge. Everything else was so wonderful. The employee who checked us in, we could not have asked for any one better or more understanding. She went above and beyond to make our first few hours the best as far as check-ins go.

We have been staying there for o er 29 years looks like they are going out of business or sold or remodeling. Not sure. You have to call a number to get the receptionist to come down. No ice either. She said or room was remodeled lol not sure on that but she got a small smart tv to watch something’s. I love that location and closed to the beach guess we are going to look for somewhere else for now

The first room we were in, had candy on the floor , very old building, rusted old building, SMELLED SOOO BAD, it’s a non smoking building but the room beside us was smoking weed!! HORRIBLE! moved us to the 5th floor, room had cockroaches all over on their little traps, but the room seemed a little better then the 1st room! Main floors were nasty, it appears no cleaning people, Highly Not Recommended !! They need to TOTALLY update this place! On a good note , views were good of the ocean!

We have stayed at the Red Tree numerous times and although not the fanciest of hotels, the location and staff make it a great place to stay. We will be back.

The only reason to stay here if the apocalypse had started, and there’s no other place to sleep. Extremely ran down, no one in the office, no deadbolts or pull over lock on the door, no sprinkler system, you had to call if you needed..example a toilet paper. The pool was well kept, and the mattress was comfortable. But I’m stating once again, only what I stay there again if it was the apocalypse.

Place needs to be condemned

Hotel was very dirty and looked like it was falling apart. The only good thing was how close it was to the ocean.

Do not stay here. Roaches, very old and everything is soaking wet. I slept with the lights on. Coffee keurig didnt work plus there were no cups for coffee anyway or k cups or cream and sugar. I have stayed in 50 different hotels in myrle and this was by far the worst.

PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! By far the worst “hotel” my husband and I have ever “stayed in”. I use quotes because we never actually stayed there. We drove from Virginia (about a 5 hour drive one way) on 7-10-24. When we get to the hotel and at first looks it’s not that bad but the more we look the more we horrified we get. We found a total of 7 cockroaches in our room in the span of an hour. I made this aware to maintenance and their suggestions was to switch rooms. I unfortunately did not read the reviews of this dump. If I would have I would’ve seen that 3 days before we arrived someone had found bed bugs, we didn’t stay in the room long enough to see if we had bed bugs because after my husband read that review he immediately packed all of our belongings and we went and slept in our car for the night. On top of that the building legit looks like it’s falling down, the cabinets in the room looked like they were rotting not to mention how dirty the place is. We didn’t see much of the hotel but for what we saw, disgusting. The ice scoops were covered in something not quite sure what, big cockroach’s all over the parking lot, oh and not to mention that the elevator HASN’T been serviced in 4 YEARS!

Motel marquee says free WiFi, fridge and microwave. We had no fridge, and a sinks with no plumbing attached. Ice machine in the hall was a SAVIOR but only worked the first day so there was NO way to keep any drinks cold. The bags of ice we bought melted quickly in the sink that leaked into the plumbing less vanity.
However, the beach was steps away!! Great location

When I stayed at the red tree inn it was really dirty and looked very unsafe. Also to add on to that the service was horrible. On the pictures it showed that it was way cleaner and the beds were way bigger and it look overall clean but when we got there it was a whole different story. Out of all the hotels I’ve been it this one was the absolute worst. Around the hotel there was way better ones that we could have chosen so in the meaning of that is I will NEVER come to the red tree inn again.

There roaches in the room. We killed over 10 roaches during our stay. The room was run down. Light bulbs not working. No extra locks on doors for safety. Weather stripping on patio door was falling off. Toilet was not secured to floor well. Shower head is way too low, I’m 6’ 2”. Shower head was for a 5’ 5” person at best.

dirty, dirty, dirty….. dated, cockroaches, unclean towels, dusty, smelled, staff walked in on us while sleeping, couldn’t enjoy the balcony due to smell of pot constantly, adjoining door didn’t lock. Bed was semi comfortable. Yes, the price was cheap, you get what you pay for…. Maybe.

The room when walked in had feces and pubic hair on the bed smell like bug spray and strong chemicals. Room was not ready upon arrival filthy dirty picture, and hotel did not represent the marketing done by. Expedia, also I canceled through Expedia and with the hotel was hung upon three time by three foreign speaking people and I know the country who did not want to hear the argument no refund my money. The cost of the room was $170 to get a refund I would’ve had to pay $124 so I lost 170 bucks due to the next agents of the hotel and Expedia not honoring their word as a proprietorship and a marketing business Firm.

The doors had gaps that were so big you could see outside. There was no deadbolt or chain. The tiles were coming off the wall in the bathroom and the toilet was hard to flush. The tv signal was grainy, there were large roaches on the bed, and in the bathroom. There were also power wires on the outside of the wall. The balcony was fine, but the door only opened half way because it was dragging on the floor.
6.0
It provided acceptable accommodations but there was too much space around doors for light and balcony door did not feel secure. Very noisy
2.0
The room at first looked okay, but many maintenance issues became readily apparent. the microwave/Kuerig counter was separating from the wall and floor.
The bath tile was uneven and patched haphazardly.
But the nighttime activities were not pleasant. The 6 legged insects were all over everything not covered up or sealed.
The balcony , bed, and a/c were great. Having an ocean view was fantastic.
Property needs a lot of maintenance and updating.

I tried to look at the positives of this hotel when I first got there. It was just a quick weekend trip, the lady at the front desk was so nice, parking was easy and right next to the building, and had direct beach access. Sadly I feel that’s about as good as it gets. This was probably the grossest place I have ever stayed. I knew it was going to be old and dated, I mean you get what you pay for, but I don’t think that’s an excuse to let a beachfront property fall into this much disrepair. Honestly, it looks like the place has been hit with 10 hurricanes and never cleaned. Every light fixture was very rusted, the patio door did not shut right, I had to prop it with a chair, the main door handle was falling off and did not shut all of the way. Everything was stained, like everything. The beds were clean and comfortable, I can say that. There was mold the baseboards. The smell of mold was STRONG. One of the walls was crumbling from water damage. The shower would not stay on, the toilet barely flushed and everything was sticky, not like typical beach moisture. I don’t blame this on the people cleaning. You can clean something that unclean-able. I think the worst part is I heard people talking about the amount of roaches they found. I did not see one the two days I was there, the last day I woke up too two dead big roaches on both sides of my bed. So it does seem like they are actively trying to resolve the issue… potentially? See google for full review :-)

The upkeep on this property was horrible. The room was decent, but very outdated. We found roaches crawling in the bathroom at night. The only good thing I have to say is the staff was very friendly. My husband was not feeling well and they quickly found us a room to check in, so he could lay down.

Front desk staff not nice, no air conditioning in the office, building is in terrible shape. Bathroom did not have a working light. Elevator too small for luggage cart. Ending up not staying the night - gave up the payment just to stay somewhere else that was much nicer.

Hotel was older. Definitely needs some improvements to the rooms. Beds were very comfortable and quiet. The overall cleanliness could definitely be better but for the price and last minute accommodation it was what was expected.

Hotel in need of renovation but you get what you pay for; one night was noisy and people out late, but staff seemed to address that, and the rest of our stay was quiet; staff seemed friendly and attentive; had an issue at check in but staff addressed it quickly; hotel is close to the beach and theres a shower head outside to wash off which is a plus!

It was a great value for the money the Beds and sheets were very nice which is important to me you cant beat the location for the price!

My sisters and I visited for a 4 night girls trip. The hotel is older and shows its age. However the room, pool and convenience was wonderful. The front desk opens at 10 am but the maintenance man lives on site and is very accommodating. We had an issue with our AC, and it was taken care of promptly. The lady at the front desk was also great. I didn't see any bugs or vermon during our stay, we were on the 2nd floor. I will go back.😊😇

The property is very dated and old. The beds were clean but the place looked dingy. I didn’t even want to walk on the carpet without shoes.

This was the worst hotel I have ever seen. The man that let us in was so drunk he could barely stand up. He had to hand me the keys to the lobby because he couldn’t even put a key into a lock. The whole halls and everything were completely filthy and run down. When we went into the room it smelled like bleach and mold and two cockroaches went scurrying across the floor. The door lock to the room was totally unsafe anyone could have just pushed the door open and the latch would have just fallen off. We left 20 minutes after entering the room and I messaged the property to please refund my money and I received no response.
