Good location close to Hbf train station and plenty of restaurants. Very comfortable and spacious room. Staff was kind and accommodating. Lounge bar was a huge plus!

Great hotel, reasonable value considering the euros was on, good location only 10 mins walk from the station. The bar, lobby areas amd rooms are stylish and clean and the building is cool. However the breakfast is overpriced at nearly 17 euros - there is a limited buffet selection with no hot food and only coffee from a machine, its not worth the money.

I stayed here for the Euros, as I had tickets for a match in Gelsenkirchen. The hotel staff spoke great English and were very helpful. The room was clean and the noise from the street was minimum. The town of Essen has a few restaurants and bars. The hotel is around a 15 minute walk to the Hauptbahnhof. I would recommend Motel One to other travellers.

Great small room, very clean, very well maintained, bar staff stunning. Check in, no room ready after waiting 3 hours to check in. Staff at check in very aggressive. No kettle in room or ability to get morning drinks unless you pay for simple and expensive breakfast.

The checkin was easy. We were confused about the parking situation. We had to go inside and find out where to park. It would have been nice to know ahead of time. The staff was very helpful and did everything they could to make our stay better. The Christmas markets were across the street from the hotel which made it nice for visiting day or night. Dining choices were abundant within easy walking of the hotel.

Been coming here for 10 years since it's location is perfect for our needs. I liked the simplicity and decoration of the lobby and dining room better before it's renovation. the decor is too busy now. This time, we had a renovated room. I missed the closet that was there before, it has even less storage space now. just 2 tiny shelves that can't even fit a pair of shoes. The bathroom smelled like somebody had been smoking in there, and there was contact lens in the bed that was not from my family

Very good hotel. Shame all documents and information was sent in German. I requested a copy in English and never received it. How can international travellers accept conditions in a local language they don’t understand? Very annoying

I absolutly love this hotel and use it regularly whilst on business in Essen. i find the staff friendly the hotel is located perfectly with planty of restaurants in the immediate factility and the Hotel has an excellent Bar

I use this hotel regularly it’s based beautifully in the centre of Essen surrounded by plenty of restaurants and shopping. The staff are always friendly and happy to help. It’s a designer hotel which is fabulous for the money.

The motel is fantastic for a few days away. Breakfast is a little expensive for bread and yoghurt. The room was great but could be better with tea and coffee in the room.

Must be a brand new hotel as everything was in excellent condition. Bed was perfect with better than usual pillows. Staff very friendly and prompt. Price was the best part of the whole affair.

Good hotel in the center of town. Plain vanilla hotel at a fair price. But 11 Euro for the breakfast is to much. Its not bad breakfast but your money is better spent in a local bakery. If you in a hurry the the breakfast is ok

Perfect location, nice design, very good breakfast buffet, very clean and very friendly staff. The beds are however on the hard side; a soft topped would do wonders. Nevertheless, overall very good price-quality !

Great staff! Very friendly and helpful. The simple room had a comfortable double bed. I didnt see a kettle, mugs, or fridge. Cable tv with channels in multiple languages. The bathroom was a little on the small size, but had everything one needs. Good shower. Soap and body wash provided, but they arent great quality. I didnt have the breakfast in the morning, but it seemed a good price and quality.Overall - very positive. Perfect if you just need a place to lay your head. If youre looking for a luxury suite, keep looking.I will be staying here again in the future.

Staff was great, very helpful and had a wonderful energy! The details around the hotel are great, the breakfast was amazing, my only complaint is the bed was stiff and the comforter was too small for the bed.

Just beware it's about a 10-15 minute walk from the train station but the location is great!! Awesome restaurant across the street and right in the middle of the city.
