The Desler. Sort of an odd experience on a number of levels. An interesting building, with some lovely features, like a very nice place to eat breakfast overlooking its own olive orchard. The rooms were fine, if a bit strangely lit, and lacking amenities other than body wash (no shampoo or lotion, etc). The property is far enough out from the center of Verona that you either need to drive or get a cab, and there is very little immediately around it.
The service, though well-meaning, was sort of strange. The breakfast buffet was pleasant enough, with coffee drinks available upon request but no cooked options from a kitchen, and then a 30 Euro charge for breakfast that was not expected, regardless of what you consumed (I had two cappuccinos...).
The place feels like a property that has had a lot of work done to it, and that has been opened for customers a little bit before all the wrinkles have been ironed out.

Frankly I was disappointed of this B&B after reading all the positive reviews.
This ancient villa was renovated into a modern house with interesting architectural features. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end.
On arrival, our host immediately dragged us into a conversation about the European geo-political climate, citing there’s little hope for future generations etc. Just what you need on your holiday, right? The lobby hall was often full of cigarette smoke. The breakfast was mediocre at best. The air conditioner didn’t work properly (this was during the heat wave) and it was so loud it was hard to sleep. Our balcony was dirty and poorly maintained. There was no shampoo or conditioner (you’d expect them in this price range). No restaurant on site (based on breakfast quality we wouldn’t give it a try even if there was one). The list goes on..
Needless to say we won’t be back.

Delightful small boutique hotel; lovely spacious bedroom; comfortable bed; stunning grounds and good continental breakfast.
The only thing for us that could have been improved, would be if drinks (eg tea, coffee, water or maybe alcohol) could be available during the day / early evening.

Two glorious days at Desler! The rooms were exquisite (who doesn’t love a hot bath after a long day of wine tasting?!) and the hospitality incredible. Alberto is a consummate host and his venue is a perfect place to get away or plan your group stay - amazing infrastructure for a fabulous party!

I am an architect - so I absolutely loved how Alberto has transformed this Roman cistern to a modern luxury B and B. We had wonderful conversations. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The Delser is a beautiful country villa just 5 miles from the center of Verona. It’s set up on a hill, overlooking beautiful vineyards and very peaceful. It’s far enough away that you can escape from the tourists but you can easily get back to the main tourist attractions. We had a car which made it easier, especially as there is plenty of free parking on the premises. The rooms are spotlessly clean. They have all of the modern comforts while retaining a rustic charm.
Only negative point was the check-in process. There must have been a miscommunication between hotels.com and the Delser as when we arrived there was no one around to greet us and check us in. There is no formal “reception” area with computers etc so it’s important they are ready for your arrival. We just had to wait around until someone found us eventually! But this really shouldn’t detract from what was a wonderful stay at a beautiful villa.

Lovely sprawling villa amidst beautiful countryside - the decor was exceptional and it is a great place to stay outside of Verona city if you are driving. Truly an experience.

Really lovely boutique - about €20 taxi to centre of Verona but it is perfect for couples looking for a nice weekend getaway.

The views and the rooms are excellent. Really enjoyed the larger bed and breakfast was very good. A coffee maker and onsite restaurant (which is planned) would make this perfect.

We wanted somewhere to stay near Verona that offered some peace in contrast to the city and the Delser provided it. You need a car to get to the city but the overall experience of the hotel, the staff and the excellent breakfast more than made up for that slight inconvenience. For those interested in design, the hotel offers an outstanding example of the conversion of a utilitarian structure into a location of true quality.

Absolutely felt like a home from home. The personal service from Alberto the owner, the understated warmth of all the staff, the friendliness, the stunning design, the beautiful view over vines and olives..... i cannot praise this enough. We came for the Opera and last time stayed in the city. This was a perfect and relaxing antidote to busy August Verona, with Vinicio providing a taxi service in and out of the city, at all hours, and at very short notice.

Excellent personalised stay. Very helpful in helping create a superub time in Verona and the surrounding area. This hotelier pays attention to detail and provides first class services. The location is slightly remote from Verona but this is a benefit in my opinion. They have car parking facilities if you hire a car and can provide a driver led service or call taxis. Varied and filling breakfast
