This was our first stay at the Hotel Cama. I booked it based on reviews as our first time in this area as we have a business colleague in Mohali. I travel frequently in India in many of the cities and I have to say this is by far one of the best hotels in all my travels.
On check-in the staff quickly changed our assigned room when it was clear the room they showed us had be used by heavy smoker. Our new room did not have this problem. We are non-smokers so maybe they assumed western folks were smokers?
The staff also changed our room one night at 1 am as the men in the room next door were very drunk and loud. Our new room was very quiet. Of course drunk customers are not unusual for a hotel in any country.
Overall - the hotel is very western friendly -- great food, expresso machine so good coffee, strong wifi, comfortable beds, English challenges on TV for news, sports, movies.

It was for the first time I was visitng some hotel like this I mean was visting not in group. I had stayed their with my girl friend. Initially i was bit uncomfortable, but staff their is very professional and nice. What ever they have to brief they do that at the time of check in. And will let you enjoy your privacy later on.
I mostly remain concerened for bathroom sanitation, but that was up to mark.
Environment was peacefull there, although our room was quiet close to stairs buy you will hardly hear sounds of staffs movement.
Although In Dining facility is mentioned there on the booklets provided at room. I think breakfast should have the same facility. I had called ther service number they said sir breakfast doesn't come under in dining.

The location is bad. Away from the city centre. Front desk staff are inefficient. Food is good. Breakfast options are limited. Many things are promissed viz. HD channels, newspaper in the room etc. but they are not provided.

Very mixed feelings on this hotel. You'll be ok here, but there are reasons it's cheaper.
Restaurant has wonderful food and the service was lovely. Reception was a mixed bag. This hotel is far from town, so you'd think the question of how to get there wouldn't stump them. The chap behind reception told us to loiter at the nearby petrol station for an Auto that would cost 20 rupees. On the reception desk next to him was a framed Trip Advisor ranking of "Best Business Hotel". So the best business hotel tells it's business travellers to wait at the petrol station for an Auto? We later discovered that the Auto price is 100 rupees (from the restaurant staff) and when we were in town found a phone number for Mega Cabs, pre booked reasonably priced aircon cabs. I'm not precious but hanging round the petrol station was a bit much for me and the price difference was minimal.
The hotel is quite new so looks great in areas. Of course room cleanliness can make or break even a new room, and whilst the hotel was clean in most areas, there were exceptions.
I rate a room by the nights sleep I get mainly. The bed was comfortable, the room modern. What ruined it was very loud airconditioning even on the lowest setting. It was like a jet engine. Earplugs did the trick but only just.
You'll be happy here if you don't mind travelling into town, and can get some good information on how to do it. Some of the reception staff seemed inexperienced and exhausted. Not their fault.
