We’ve stayed here several times and are always very happy with the room. The only problem was we noticed that there were ants near the microwave and refrigerator. We also noticed that they were on the desk area. This was surprising because we have never seen them before. It won’t stop us from staying there again though or stop us from recommending it to anyone going to Friday Harbor because I am confident that they will see this review and take care of the problem. (Room 214) 😊

The Check in clerk EXCELLENT! Friendly, professional! This person made this stay excellent

Was good except for the showers. One the shower door magnets did not line up to keep the door closed. The other, there was no way you were getting a full hot shower if you are shampooing your hair and you have more than 3 hairs on your head. The water goes cold by the time you wash your hair. If they were serious about water conservation. They would have low flow showerheads so you could have a hot shower on the tiny amount of hot water in the tank.

The Orca Inn is truly one of the least expensive places to lodge on San Juan Island.
I was greeted by the manager of the lodge -KJ; super courteous and helpful.
The room, a single queen bed, non-smoking room, was clean and had everything we needed to rest comfortably after a wonderful day on that gorgeous island.

This is an older property but very clean and safe. Rooms are quite small and dated but served out needs as we were not in the room much. The price was great and the area was quiet. Would recommend this place if you just need a clean and quiet place to sleep

Room was extremely small so barely one person could walk around the bed and in the room. The walls were thin and other customers were loud from 4-5:30 AM. Sounded like they were in our room. it was previously a mobile unit in the wall structure. No electrical outlet coverings nor fire alarm. It had been removed. Very little hot water for one shower and certainly not for two.

I did see the small rooms people talked about. Suggest you get the accessible king roo.

We were very pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and excellent service we received at the Orca Inn.

Stayed in queen size room. Super super small room with bed pushed up against the wall. The bed was THE worst bed i've slept on: hard and futon like. Only one electrical outlet worked...in the narrow walkway next to the bed. Would not stay in this room again.

Amazing price, place to sleep for the night

What a joke

The hotel is basic and utilitarian so the price was great for the area. The rooms are oddly done. My room was two rooms converted into one. The beds were placed oddly about 4 feet from the wall so the air conditioning/heat was able to blow. The manager was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were comfortable and clean. My double queen room had its original two bathrooms and each bathroom has its own hot water heater. Great for the cost

Great staff and in a nice walkable location!!

Our room used to be 2 rooms made into 1. Barely room to walk around the beds. Floors were uneven and if you laid something on the vanity, chances were, it would roll off. Staff was very nice which is why I gave 3 stars instead of 2.

Not your typical room but it served its purpose and was clean and perfect for our quick one night stay!

Convenient and comfortable

The rooms are... tiny. The savings, however, are humungous. Step back in time to 1976. Wood paneling, red formica counter. Room barely big enough for a queen bed.
But it was comfortable, afforable, and we didnt spend any unnecessary time in the room, we'd rathwr be out enjoying Friday Harbor.
Yes, they have the Orca costume on site, no you cant borrow it, we asked.

We love staying here, easy in and out, although the airport is close we didn't have a second of noisy intrusion. It's a basic hotel with no frills but all the essentials & all the rooms are floor level. The only thing we forgot about was there is no in-room coffee maker, but patronizing any of the multiple coffee houses is a pleasure anyway. Plus the grocery store is walkable, right next door!

This was a very simple, small room. It was clean, a bit out dated, but not bad. It was within walking distance from the downtown, which was great since parking was limited down there. The lady at the front desk was very friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone asking and would stay again if we came back to San Juan.

The staff were friendly and courteous. the room was totally clean. But the Room was so small only one of us could get out of bed at a time. And the one chair had to be moved constantly so you could get into the bathroom or the bedroom. And the bed was very uncomfortable. Because of this we won't stay at here again.

Very simple and very wonderful. No frills except our hotel room had two bathrooms which was extra awesome!

Be aware the bed takes up the room but that’s clear from the pictures. Quiet area, nice check in staff.

Small room but it was overall a fair place to stay when all you need is a place to sleep. Friendly staff, clean room. No complaints.

Great value for this resort community
The rooms are very small, but very well designed with everything you might need, and very clean. Would definitely stay again.

This a great little place. No frills, but extremely clean and functional. For a third of the price of "normal" hotels on the island, it is a steal. It was probably our favorite part of the trip.

The room is small but has everything we needed. Clean and comfy.

Simple place. Bed is rather, very very firm but manageable. We just stayed for one night. Simple check in and out. AC worked great.

Staff was friendly at check-in. Quiet location and room on the outskirts of town, a bit of a walk from the ferry terminal. Room was small but had what you needed, despite a funny layout.

The Orca Inn was clean and comfortable. We had a king room. We were able to get into our room a bit early after getting off the ferry. It was nothing fancy, but adequate. Staff was friendly and helpful. Only problem was that we could hear our neighbor at 1:00 am.

VERY tiny and dated. The shower was new, but everything else was from the 60s. Nice area, and clean inside and out.
If they could expand the room size and do a few upgrades, this place would be my go-to in Friday Harbor.

misleading location making be.ieve it is in the center of town while it is miles away

The Property was very convenient for our travel purpose. This is a good facility for basic accommodations. Best suited for single person stays.

The Orca Inn is cheaper than most places in Friday Harbor but that doesn't mean it's cheap. Friday Harbor in the summer is a very expensive place to stay. The location is good - walkable to most places. We appreciated that they checked us in early and the staff was pleasant. We also appreciated the air conditioning on an unusually hot day. We were disappointed that there wasn't an ice machine that could meet the needs of the guests. The internet was out the night we were there which was also disappointing. The TV is through the internet so we couldn't catch up on the news we had missed while we had been off grid for a bit. Also, one of the beds was sort of broken.

Sometimes all you need is a room with a bed because you don’t plan to use it but to sleep and it not cost an arm and a leg. This place was all that and even more! We planned on not being in the room more than sleeping and a micro-queen room was reasonably priced, and perfect for two people. Emphasis on the micro as it had a queen bed, but that was about all that fit, but it also had a window, mini fridge, ‘nightstand’ as the bed is against a wall and the other side has the toilet room, and even a desk and chair. Emphasis on micro as it’s a very tiny room, but perfect for our needs. The onsite manager was amazing and so friendly and helpful, the location was central and a quick walk from the airport or ferry terminal. The outside was clean and well kept and it a very comfortable area. The room was clean and well kept, even with the very limited room to move, the two of us slept, showered and got around each other easily. We are already planning our end of summer stay for the entire week! They do use old style physical keys, so keeping it with us and always locking the door was something we kinda kept in our mind. Plenty of space for parking; we didn’t use it but was convenient for each building. For being up against the wall we didn’t hear any of out next door guests while sleeping, occasionally a loud tv someone probably rolled over on by mistake. For the price it was easy for what we needed, a comfy bed after and day and night out in a convenient location & amazing staff
