Really convenient for racecourse and town centre. Clean, quiet and great value.

Basic price, basic room. Very hard small pillows. Ok breakfast provided in room. Only parking for 3 cars.
2.0 / 10.0
Not really a hotel. Just a series of locked rooms you let yourself in with a code but never see anyone. No breakfast even though included. Very uncomfortable beds.
3.0 / 10.0
Essentially, a room in a guest house. Decor is outdated and bed isn’t 5* comfort but the ‘pantry’ was stocked with cereal, tinned fruit, tea, coffee, biscuits, fresh fruit bowl and in the fridge there was orange juice, fresh milk and bottled water.
Bathroom facilities were fine! I actually think this is fantastic value for the price, especially when you factor in keyless entry, location and what they provided for breakfast!

A comfortable stay in a quiet hotel

The house is beautiful with period features and a would have once had a very grand appearance, this is still quite evident today, I will most definitely come back, excellent service, cleanliness etc.

not worth the amount it was like sleeping in a bedsit in the 80s

Beautiful Edwardian property. Room was huge with lovely features.
Garden area appreciated this summer evening.
Good breakfast supplied for the morning. Cereal, tin fruit, cereal bars and milk.

Martin was a fantastic host and ensured we could have our room an hour earlier than standard 2pm.

The property was beautiful from the outside but the facilities were very old-fashioned, beds extremely hard. We liked the continental breakfast which was a self-serve option
8.0 / 10.0
Basic, clean, quiet. Very good communication with venue who promptly replied to queries on parking. Room fitted out with breakfast goodies, such a good idea as I had to leave early. Close to eateries and bars, walkable.
Good value for money

For the price the room was ok - basic, tired and dated, but 'ok'. My shower room was tiny so no room to get dry and the toilet was on a pedestal and much higher than 'normal' so not ideal!!
The details say a continental breakfast is available but in realit, in the room are two or three prepackaged single portion breakfast items, a tin of fruit, some fresh fruit, a yoghurt and a pint of milk.
There is no mention in the details that the hotel is unmanned.
It's low cost and near Cheltenham centre.

Bed was too hard, shower took ages to get warm and the fridge was noisy
2.0 / 10.0
It was very dated, the wardrobe door had no handle, the bedding was completely mismatched, not even 1 matching pillow case! Carpet was stained and the top of the cupboard was filthy. The fridge was handy as were the tea making facilities. Note it is a keyless, staffless property and the 'included breakfast' was 2 yoghurts, 2 small juice cartons and a pint of milk in the fridge. 2 snack size cornflakes, 2 muesli bars, a tin of oranges and a tin of peaches in the cupboard. No heating at all.

Good stay. Clean and simple accommodation. Said continental breakfast was included when I booked but wasnt provided, but otherwise did the job perfectly. Quiet and comfortable.
3.0 / 10.0
The room was adequate and what I expected as I have stayed there before. I chose the hotel again because of the little extras in the room, like cereal, bottle of milk, yogurt, orange, fruit, things not found in other basic rooms. It served my purpose and I will definitely stay again.

Colleagues were aghast at choice, but if you're happy with basic and go in eyes open then the room was functional, tidy and clean. Had necessary bed, bathroom plus a fridge and microwave if needed.
A little bit cold and slightly noisy till traffic died down given old windows but did the job just fine and well for the price.
Don't expect Ritz, but fair quality for the price paid.

This was a very basic hotel. It was clean and tidy but what really made it for me were the little extras that you don’t normally now get. There were actual biscuits, fresh fruit, milk, yogurt, orange juice, water bottles in a fridge in the room and also an microwave and even soap and shower gel that weren’t in a wall decanter. Totally unexpected but gratefully received. I would definitely stay there again m. Well done .

Only stayed one night and was no need for contact with staff hence average score. Comfortable room, en suite bathroom, did not use them but items were provided for a basic breakfast, cereal, porridge pack, milk, tinned fruit, yogurt, cereal bar. Plenty of tea and coffee provided. Fridge in room.

Functional clean room. Great for someone who just needs somewhere to stay for a night or 2 and isn't fussed about extra facilities

My room was double booked and a person entered the room after I resident. He did have a booking and he had the correct codes, same as mine, to enter the building and the room.
4.0 / 10.0
High ceilings, multitude of plug sockets, good amenities for the price, good position and pleasing views. The codes for the front door and room were initially a pain, but I came to appreciate not having to lug a key around with me.

The Kingsmuir continues to be an option for short stays in Cheltenham. The breakfast options have been reduced over the years and no noticable maintenance has been done.
It has limited parking, and with a change in the rules for street parking due soon, this may become a problem. Maybe the hotel can secure guest parking when the area around is residents only, (some other hotels in Cheltenham have this)

There is no personal in the hotel. All doors are saved by codes. The codes are in advanced mailed. The chamber was more or less out dated. The bed was ok. Breakfast is not served. You had to pick up a couple of eatables out of a fridge, that does not work properly. Sometimes is was working, but all of a sudden it stopped working and a lot of water was down on the bottem of the fridge. I haven't seen anybody of the staff during my stay in the hotel. In my absence during the day is the room always cleaned. That's why I haven't paid my stay in the hotel. I am absolutly willing to pay. Let the staff contact me.

It was like a trip back to a 1960s bedsit.
Not really a hotel and, consequently, overpriced for what it actually is: a little, grubby room in an old house with very basic, dated facilities.
If advertised for half the price, and as a hostel, this might be a fairer representation of the accommodation.
Breakfast a huge disappointment: a pack of cornflakes and carton of cheap juice stored in the wardrobe: bizarre!

I very much enjoyed the stay, quiet, close to town centre, easily accessible.

Hotel provided all it advertised but it's basic. Manager is friendly and helpful and the hotel is ideally situated to explore the area.

The price was advertised at £96 yet my card was charged £112! I wasn’t sent the entrance code so had to wait outside the property for 30 minutes while the landlord texted me the room number and code. When he texted, it was for the wrong room and we opened some else’s room with someone inside which scared the women inside and me. It was scary trying to get into our room as it was very dark and the lights were on push timer buttons which kept going off half way through entering the entry code. I had to go back outside and call the owner again. When we finally got into our room, there were bugs in the bed. There was no breakfast just one small packet of variety cornflakes and an Alpen bar in the cupboard. The shower was either to cold or too hot and low pressure. Overall it was an unpleasant experience and very expensive for the quality of the service, interior and lack of proper breakfast.

Found suitable parking on side street near hotel.
Breakfast was provided but didn't find it in time as it was not obvious where it was

Check-in fine.
Old, half eaten food left in fridge alongside new - Yuck!
Bin in bathroom hadn't been cleaned out. Vile

The hotel is not staffed, and the sash windows are loose and drafty this was one of the coldest nights of the year. Single glazed loose windows. The breakfast included was a box of cereal and some UHT milk with a tin is fruit. Not the cooked breakfast expected. The bathroom was horrible and from the 50s. Had to run the shower for 20 min to get warm water to drip from it. It was cheep but a wastes of money.

Great stay, in a very good location!

When we turned up at the hotel it was very disappointing.
THere was no one on site - it was all remote managed and we had been sent 2 codes in an email (front door and room door) to get in. I hadnt realized this so lucky I had a working phone otherwise ringing the bell would have served no purpose...
It was also difficult to find the hotel, since Pittville Circus is a circle with a number of houses on, no numbers and no names visible mostly. I ended up calling the remote manager to find out where to go.
THe building is nice from the outside, but in our view very run-down. There has not been an attempt to make it look nice inside it seems the investment was purely in putting up drywalls to create as many rooms as possible. THe decor was like you would find in a furniture auction from a diseased relative. The wardrobe was full of dust so didnt put anything in there. THe ensuite was a joke - I couldnt believe how small the room was for toilet, shower, sink. THe mirror in the bathroom was hung up with electrical flex. THe only window was very small.
We had been looking forward to a cooked breakfast as there was "free breakfast" indicated on the hotel page. However no one was there. INstead the room had a fridge and we were instructed to fashion our own "continental breakfast" out of the ingredients: 3 yoghurts, 2 fruit juices, 2 mini cornflakes boxes, 2 packets of choco croissant. Extremely disappointing.
It was relatively cheap, but in our view not worth it.
