We enjoyed our stay at the Manor Hotel. It was a lovely place to stay for a couple of nights even though the room was a little small. The food was excellent and had a good choice. Everyone was welcoming.

Very clean and tidy

This room we had was spacious. However the bathroom left a lot to be desired.
Black mould from damp on the windows. Tiles falling off in the bath/ shower. No hot water in the shower.
Bizarrely to get hot water in the sink you have to turn the tap on the wrong way.
2 of us in the room. 1 bath towel
1 hand towel. But with no hot water it didn’t matter too much.

Great location with ample parking at the rear of the hotel. The breakfast was excellent

Comfortable stay. Good food, though excessive oil poured over salad.

The room we were originally allocated was large and airy unfortunately it had a large number of flies, and they did not have any fly spray so they moved us to another room that was really small and was in need of a good dose of TLC nit was also directly above the Bar so was noisy until the pub finally closed, The best part of our stay was the breakfast freshly cooked to order consisting of high-quality food.

d. Sunday afternoon locals a bit rowdy which stopped us sitting in the sun. Staff excellent and very amenable. Good breakfast. We ate our dinner at the Manor which was good but not great! We would stay again but choose a midweek stay-away

The room was reasonably comfortable and clean.
The breakfast was excellent and the waitress was very friendly and efficient.
The 2 meals which we had were 2 extremes.
Day1- The sirloin steak was excellent(although the chips were overcooked) 7/10.
Day 2-The teriyaki chicken was diabolical... Too much sauce.. almost inedible 2/10.Went to the pub opposite for a pizza.
Unfortunatly the rooms do not have heating(although the bathroom has a heated towel rail)
On the information sheet it explains that the heating in the room is permanently turned off however if you require heating ask at reception and the boiler would be boosted and the heating in the room would work.
On day 2 myself and my wife ventured forth on a mini hike and in the process got wet through. On returning to the hotel reception (16.00h I politely requested the heating to be turned on and I was told it would take 30 minutes for the radiators to start to work.. 40 minutes later still no heating. I revisited reception and the manageress(Nicola) assured me that the heating would be working within the next 30 minutes... No joy. I made a further 2 visits to reception and was fobbed off on both occasions. At 20.00h I was told I could use the hotel's drier in order to dry our wet clothes but I had to wait 10 minutes as there was a load currently being dried. At this point I gave up!
Poor customer service Nicola! You need to improve!
I won't be re-visiting the Manor in future and recommend prospective customers do the same.

Great value. Lovely location. Really good breakfast

The hotel was okay. The facilities were fine and the room was nice. It has a nice car park in the back. The only problem with the hotel was it is situated over top of a pub. The pub has average food for breakfast and dinner. Nothing to write home about, but it was decent. The only reason that we would not stay there again would be how loud the pub was which carried into our room at night. If you are wanting to get a good night of sleep before 11pm on a weekend day, it will be very loud.

We loved this hotel. It is situated in the heart of the picturesque lakeland village of St Bees, near to the beach and the golf course and only two minutes walk from the rail station, so there was no need to hire a car. Alan and his staff were welcoming and helpful and although the building is old and full of character, our bedroom and bathroom were spotlessly clean, spacious and very comfortable. The cooked breakfast was locally sourced and delicious and the home cooked food served in the restaurant was of an equally high standard. There was even a friendly ghost in the dining room.

My partner and I enjoyed ourselves immensely. The staff at the hotel and indeed the locals of St Bee's were very friendly and welcoming. We felt very relaxed here and indeed we will be back again. St Bee's is a lively town, absolutely buzzing!

I had a room over the restaurant area, facing towards the ocean. Reception was okay (some oversights, like asking if I wanted to reserve a table for the evening), room was great (excepting noisy revelers downstairs outside the window), and food was wonderful (compliments to the kitchen team!). I'd suggest a room towards the back if noise is going to be an issue for early sleepers.

Lovely stay well looked after by the staff, pub and restaurant very busy and noisy, owner moved us to a quiet room as hotel was empty. Would ask for a quiet room when booking next time, room 6 was okay.

This is a small country hotel on the main st, with particularly good food in their bar/ restaurant. It is within a few minutes walk from the station and the spectacular beach. They also have a spacious car park at the rear. The staff are helpful and efficient, the rooms are clean and comfortable and a pleasant night's sleep was had by us. Plus, it is very good value for the money. I am vegetarian, but this presented no problem. The veggie options were imaginative and tasty. Oh and then there's Lydia, a local resident of St Bees. The energy of the woman has to be seen and heard to be believed. We witnessed her drowning out a meatloaf song on a jukebox, all without a mike, and whilst dancing energetically. And boy can she sing well. What more can you ask? We hope you run into her on your stay.

Stayed here on night before doing the Coast to Coast bike ride. Very helpful sorted out an early breakfast. Manged to pair me up with another cyclist to get me to Whithaven. Lovely food and generous portions and was able to sit and eat in Beer Garden with the wife and dog.
