I am so happy to have found this hotel again. The area is amazing, the hotel is cozy, and the staff are friendly and helpful.
They do however, need to update the hotel information. They no longer have rooms with bathtubs. This is a minor point to an overall amazing stay.

Amazing property. Great character.
Good nights sleep. Noisy.
Would have liked a fridge in room.
Shower was cold. Good WiFi.
Great valve for money. Will stay here again.

Incredible property on the edge of Dubar Square.

So I have to admit that this place did grow on me after awhile. When I first arrived , things at the hotel were closed (9:45 PM), but in the morning, I discovered a nice cafe and friendly staff. This made the Everestlike climb up to my 6th floor room a little more tolerable.
Of course, lack of WiFi in the top room was a bummer, but it worked fine the cafe so I was fine. And the view in the top room really was spectacular. Given the chance, I’d stay here again.

Lovely hotel with very friendly staff in a great location. Rooms are large and individual. Internet access is reliable. Hot water works fine but needs to be run for quite a while before it gets hot. Highly recommended.

Very friendly staff and owner who worked in Malaysia before... Able to speak Malay language to me which was a surprise!
Very kind of them to give me a free upgrade to their deluxe room.
Wifi working, less than 1 min walk to Durbar Square which is the most happening place in Kathmandu!
Hot shower only have very hot water coming out.
Need some ear plugs if u plan to sleep early as the traffic noise can be disturbing.
Overall good experience.

This place is unique-we stayed there 6 nights all together during 3 weeks of visiting Nepal. We always got the same room. The hotel is situated right on Durbar Square, on the festival days of Dasha in it even offered a short direct way to the place, where Nepali traditional life has its center. Do not expect it to be very quiet..., but in this case you should not come to Kathmandu at all (and you would definitely miss out something!!) .
The touristic area of Thamel is NOTHING in comparison. It is simply too much!! In the city center you will see no short pants and sleeveless tops for instance.
Staff is friendly and helpful, Taxis are always around the corner. At night the drivers sleep in their car and like to drive you to the airport in early morning.
To sum up and say it again:nice place in a perfect spot (you can sit on the rooftop listening to bells, chants, people...)

The staff and owners are lovely, The hotel room is clean and complimentary water is given. There are no complimentary toiletries or tea/coffee, which is surprising when paying for standard or deluxe rooms. breakfast is not included but can be bought. Close to a popular square, that you have to pay to walk through and about 25 mins walk to centre of tourist area.

This property is located just feet away from Durbar Square in Kathmandu. The location is great, but also a little hard to get to by car given the traffic challenges of old Kathmandu. But if you plan to walk, it is a great place. It is outside of the tourist center of Thamel, but close enough to access it if that is what you want. The property is nice, the service is good and the food is good.

If you want a more authentic Newari experience, this is the hotel for you. Its location right next to Durbar Square is wonderful but you have to hoof about 10 minutes if you want to get to Thamel. You can get a cab or rickshaw, but where is the fun in that? The deluxe room is comfortable albeit without a television and central heat--it got a little chilly at night as the space heater didn't really keep up. I really like my experience here and felt like I was in the real Nepal and not fenced off in one of the tourist hotels.

When I arrived the room booked was not acceptable so agreed to upgrade. Checked out after 2 days due to no hot water and no wi-fi. Complained to Expedia who arranged a refund of original booking fee paid.

We had a fantastic time here. The staff are so friendly and are always there to help and talk to about your day. Help was always at hand to grab a local driver to take you on your own special adventures. We opted for the Nawari breakfast almost everyday as it was soo delicious I didn't know when the next chance to have this food would be!! Great chef!
Rooms are very antique and well maintained no issues at all, inline with the beautiful architecture of the old Durbar Square.
Definitely recommend!

Overall an enjoyable stay with highs and lows. The good points were the location and view of Durbar square from the room. We stayed in the cheap rooms at the back which for their price were adequate. The restaurant served nice food at a decent price. The staff were generally friendly.
The bad points were that there was unreliable water during our stay leading to no flushing toilet or shower facility in our shared bathroom for 2 days. After complaining we were then allowed to use one of the more costly rooms for a quick shower. Perhaps this was a one off but it greatly reduced our enjoyment of this hotel and if we were to come to Kathmandu again we would likely stay elsewhere (probably closer to Thamel district).

Hotel was ok, spacious room in lovely old building. But for the money it wasn't good value - tired room, uncomfortable bed, no hot water, only 1 small lightbulb was working so very dark inside.

We only stayed one night before leaving for the Annapurna Circuit Trek. They let us leave our luggage there for two weeks while we were gone, which is nice.

Very unique hotel (partly in a historical building with traditional architecture), right at Durbar Square in Kathmandu. I recommend to take Deluxe rooms. The hotel staff can do many services, they can help in everything!

The hotel is located right next to Durbar Square and within walking distance of many of the sights. The hotel itself is historic and unique. The accommodations were an excellent value. There is an on-site restaurant which is convenient for breakfast to start your day, or dinner to end your day.
Sagar, the owner, as well as his staff were welcoming and helpful. Sagar took the time to share pictures and videos of local festivals and explained many of the aspects of Nepali culture and traditions.
Although there is damage from the recent earthquakes, Kathmandu remains a vibrant, fascinating place to visit - from walking the backroads to visiting the major sights.

Two women travelers and we felt very comfortable staying here close to Durbar Square and near to Asan Market....

I booked this stay for a few days but ended up cancelling my stay and moving to a different hotel, the hotel did not look like the pictures advertised and was very loud although it was in a very good location if you want to look around the Durbar square area. The hotel is a very reasonable price so if you are looking for a central location for a night or so this hotel is ideal.

For Nepal standards and the fact that Nepal is less developed than the West a good hotel option for a reasonable price. When you are on a lower budget or when you can not book a more luxurous option the Dwarika's Chenn is a very good alternative. In the middle of Durbar Square and at walking distance of lively Thamel. The owner Sagar and also his employees have been very helpfull and try to assist were possible. We found the hotel clean, showers were working and also hot ! and despite other travellers were complaining about noise, We did not get discturbed by any noise or whatsoever. It was an oasis in chaotic Kathmandu.

Fantastic experience from start to finish, staff were superb and totally attentive. Hotel right on the edge of Durbar Square, Sajar (owner) arranged trips out at short notice making our short stay in Kathmandu something to remember !!

what we got is not what we expected. it was a big letdown. their was no air conditioning n no ceilang fans. only pedestal fans were there. their was no geyser in the bathroom..only solar geysers which obviously dont function when it rains..so had to get a bucket of hot water. food however was very good n so was the service. though its centrally located, yet the surroundings are pathetic.

The hotel is located in the interiors and is easily missable but the rooms are excellent and service is exceptional. Had a great experience staying at World Heritage Hotel.
