It was quiet, clean and great staff. Breakfast had a lot of choices. And in Salinas, I appreciated the locked garage.

The room was clean but had a weird smell. The room was also very poorly insulated, my family and I were woken up multiple times throughout the night by loud guest, freeway traffic and other random noises. The only great part of the stay was the breakfast bar in the morning.

Have been staying here for several years when we visit Monterey. Great service, friendly front desk staff and great breakfast.

The staff was absolutely amazing. They were all kind and friendly. The check in processes was quick and easy. I was unaware of the 180 hold deposit and the 75 pet fee. Since I book through hotels.com I don’t believe that’s on the website. The beds were a little hard for my preference. Overall I had a great experience here

A one night stay at Salinas, nice hotel

I stay at this Hampton Inn several times a year. This is the first time that they were out of so many snack items. Candy, ice cream, etc... I also noticed that every time I do stay, they always have new employees working the front desk. I haven't seen the same person twice.

Check in was nice and easy. The man at the desk was friendly. Room was nice size. The hot water for the sink and shower never got hot and the pressure was low. There's a homeless camp behind the hotel and someone from this camp tried to take my belongings as I was loading my car to leave the hotel.

Hotel was good. Was in industrial area that didn't seem like where you would find a nice hotel. There was a boarded up hotel next to it with signs everywhere says don't park there or you will be towed.

I stay at Hampton properties on a regular basis as I travel 26 weeks a year. The employees here were not that friendly. The property has a homeless living in the back ( east side) and I could hear them a at night speaking loudly just outside my window. I would have mentioned it to staff but they had already given me the cold shoulder so what was the point. I didn’t feel threatened and was ready and able to defend myself in case of a break in. There is no confidence that anyone will follow up on this review. I am a Blue Star Member.

We really enjoyed the location! Rooms were very clean, the only thing was the indoor pool, it was very stuffy and the overpowering smell of chlorine was hard to be in the pool for too long. Otherwise rooms and breakfast are great!

Staff gave my room away and try to give me a small one with one bed when I place my confirmation with two queen beds
He finally gave me one king size with a cot
He didn’t believe my confirmation so I showed it twice
Need better customer service
No WiFi service in my room on the fourth floor
TV was not working

The hotel was fine. Unfortunately, The customer service provided by Michelle at the front desk was despicable. You don't talk over the customer, you listen and respond accordingly. She only listened to what she wanted to hear and then had the audacity to speak over me until I had to yell at her. I've never encountered such bad customer service from an individual that had nothing to do but check people in to their rooms. I will never go back to this location as long as she remains employed there. A real shame since we stay in hotels at least once a month. That woman needs to be educated on what good customer service is in the hospitality industry. The manager needs to rethink their choice on who is representing the brand! Shame on her for treating somebody so badly! For $250 a night, I'll take my business elswhere, thank you very much

Michelle, in particular, at front desk ruined our stay. Not worth the money to be treated so badly.

The hotel was very comfortable and welcoming, staff very friendly and professional. Bit concerned about the neighborhood and the homeless population ...

The hotel itself was great, but looking out our window was a homeless encampment. Not very pleasant to look at.
Also, my car was key'd while in the parking lot.
But I will say the staff was very very nice.

It was very comfortable

For over 600.00 a night you would think your room would be cleaned and replenished each day. Every third day… ridiculous! The ice machine didn’t work.

Homeless encampment near the entrance to underground parking. U/G pkg is locked but only between midnight & 5am.
Noisy fan in the wall between bathroom & bed area was so bad we changed rooms from 323 to 232 where it was much better.

There was mold in the bathroom on the toilet

Our hotel room was on the first floor. We could not pull up the shades to bring in some sunlight. Our view was a parking lot. I didn't know that they don't clean the rooms daily. Although we requested a room with a bathroom. The thermometer in the room did not work and we had to adjust the room temperature on the heater-air conditioner.
I accidentally reserved an extra room and neither Hampton nor Hotels.com would refund my money although I purchased travelor insurance with Hotels.com. I purposely chose this hotel based on the excellent reviews. What a farce! I will everyone who asks about my experience with Hotels.com.

I liked that it was a family friendly environment. The people at the hotel were so welcoming and so helpful.

Worst service I ever had. The general manager tested us very bad. I can’t believe that they accept pets and they treat people like this.

We drove in from Los Angeles to go straight to a family funeral. We arrived early for our check in. Despite several calls made along the way to front desk asking if we could check in early and pay the fee, I was continually denied by front desk. We drove there anyway to ask if we could change in the restroom as the funeral service was in process down the street. Once the General Manager Michelle Love heard my question, she immediately went into action to secure us a room. The wait was all but ten minutes. We were incredibly thankful for her professionalism and attention to our sensitive matter. She is certainly an asset to Hampton Inn. Her work ethic is superb, and we appreciate how she helped make our long morning of commuting to then go straight to a funeral less stressful.

Crystal, the night time attendant was amazing and had great customer service!

Room was still not ready to check in at 5pm. Also, our car was towed because the staff did not inform us that one of the parking lots next to the hotel was private, and that they frequently tow the cars of the hotel guests. If the staff had simply told us this at check in, we would not be out all of the time to get our car back as well as the $300 it cost us.

Nice pet-friendly hotel. Service was good and very responsive. Hot breakfast daily and free parking. Stayed there because I wanted a place between Pinnacles National Park and Big Sur. Worked out well for our family road trip. Dog fee was $75 per dog during stay.

Over all it was ok. Didn’t know when I booked online I would be right near an exit point. If I was a front desk person I would have automatically asked if I wanted to move if I had rooms available. The toilet roll didn’t roll. Need to fix that. Walls seem thin around room 102
