Perfect location

there were 2 single people staying ,2 Cards would have been handy, instead of gettin rung up at 2 in the morning to let the latter and other person in.

Room size was excellent, just not a fan of the zipped together beds. Great location.

Update you description please. Expedia advertised free parking (one of my reasons for choosing this hotel). When I arrived and asked where to park I was told to use street parking. When I showed the property description clearly stating free parking, I was told Expedia was wrong and although they had free parking it was 'subject to availability'. I checked their carpark and saw that they were leasing many of the parks (empty with tow-away signs) leaving few for guests, all full.

We had to change rooms when we got there as first one smelt. The second room was hardly any better mainly because you cannot open any windows for ventilation.
The cooking equipment was appalling. The saucepan handle was so loose that almost came off in my hand.... dangerous!
It looked like the building design meant that you could not open windows in any of the rooms.
We have stayed in other Quest properties but this one was the worst by some way. We booked 4 nights and left after 2 and they even refused to give us exactly half the amount back. Very poor.

Apartment was not cleaned properly lots of dust on skirting board's and bathroom tiles. Sofa bed full of crumbs and a paper clip. I would not have been happy if we had needed to use the sofa bed. Furniture needs replacing whole place could do with a refurbishment i have photos if needed

Roomy and good amenities

On the hotels.com site, it says that there is free parking on and off-site which was not entirely true. There is only limited off-street parking. It also says that reception is open 24/7 which was also not true.

Location. While not 5 star very good basics.
4.4
Rooms are quite large for studio.
Central location
Beds are so comfortable
4.4
Very central and everything you need in the apartment
4.4
It has everything you need. The kitchen has an oven which was nice for eating in the apartment. Having a separate bedroom was a nice treat on our extended holiday. And a washer and dryer in the unit. Very convenient
4.4
The room we had was not what we had expected. Ventilation was poor and cooking smells remained even though we used all equipment provided.
4.4
Hotel was great, was in a great location - across the road was the shopping centre so easy access.
Easy to walk to many restaurants and cafes for lunch and dinner etc
Small carpark available which is on a first come first serve otherwise parking available on the street after 5pm free and free on Sunday
4.4
Convenient location for an overnight stay

Stayed over the Christmas Eve-Boxing Day period. The gentleman at reception couldn't have been more helpful.
4.4
Location fantastic...room had a 'cooking' odour
4.4
Always stay here when in New Plymouth, it’s a good standard and very convenient, parking is included.

Great value for money and the location was quite central.

We left the braemar hotel in disgust. Although we paid more there was no comparison. We will return to the quest it was lovely.
4.4
We loved our one bedroom apartment. We had a view and it had plenty of sun light. The owners were great very accommodating to our needs. Also the little touches like our names coming up on the TV loved that. We would highly recommend Quest New Plymouth

The fridge made a terrible noise all day and night, lucky we were out a lot. Parking was a challenge, not enough of it. breakfast which was included was 2x Crossin's, 1 small orange juice 2x packs jam and butter, for 2 people. Not like the picture in the lift??
4.4
Easy checkin and check out, property as described, clean and expected amenities available.

I have travelled extensively throughout New Zealand, Australia and the world and without doubt the nightmare experience of staying at the Quest Apartment Hotel in New Plymouth would be somewhere amongst the worst choices for accommodation that I have regrettably made. To explain, I regularly work when I travel and as a result often book larger and more spacious rooms to avoid a feeling of working in a bedroom. In this particular instance I booked a 1 Bedroom Executive Apartment which was supposed to be 55 sq m in floorspace, the room I was assigned felt smaller and did not match any of the photos or the detailed description provided on ether the Quest Website or the Expedia Website where I had booked this accommodation. Did they provide me with me with a different standard of room?, who knows, they certainly didn’t own up to having made any mistake when provided the opportunity. Additionally, none of the pictures provided for any of the rooms show the shockingly high windows that provide the only source of natural light to the living space in my room, I have taken photos from Room: 103 and will try to post this somewhere. I have read some reviews following my stay that someone else also highlighted the window situation in their room and very correctly described their stay as “like being in a prison cell”. As if this wasn’t already enough of a claustrophobic experience, all of the windows are fixed glass panels and cannot be opened. Do yourself a favour and avoid staying here.

Consistently good

New Plymouth a great place. Hotel very convenient and very good value. Weird check-in. The door from the parking lot locked with a “hard to understand” note and keypad next to it. “Operator” (I think) didn’t answer at first - a bit stressful situation, but worked out OK.

Awesome stay

Great location in the centre of New Plymouth

Easy walk to offices, shops, restaurants etc

Nice, clean and comfortable room!

The staff were very helpful and accommodated my early checkin request

Second visit to Quest. Just love the set up of the one bed units with kitchen. Well equipped and you can even cook a roast. Staff very friendly allowed us to checkin early due to weather and fact we had no transport. Location handy for everything.
4.4
Excellent location. Usual Quest quality which is to say, very good.
We usually stay in one-bedroom apartments but this opted for a studio this time because we stayed only a couple of nights. The TV setup is not comfortable and it can certainly use a lot of improvement.
Having the set facing a wall with no option to rotate or tilt the TV wall-mount meant that we had to look sideways to watch TV.
4.4
Wonderful stay. Excellent value. The staff were lovely and very helpful. The bed was comfortable and apartment very clean.
4.4
Lack of laundry facilities within room as displayed when initially booked
4.4
Great central location with good parking. Room was quite cold even with aircon off. Shower overflowed on to the bathroom floor (not towards the drain). No basics such as a can/bottle opener in the room and only 2 plates, cups, glasses etc meaning you had to do dishes multiple times a day if eating in.
4.4
Nice weather and great walks and cafes but not the best of service from cafes or restaurants and the food was not that nice. Also unless it is Saturday night early Sunday morning (Clubbing Time) the town is like a ghost town. As for the Quest it's pleasant but that's about it. Room services are good plenty of Tea/coffee and bathroom essentials but that is it. Maintenance is very much needed and room decor very plain not very comfortable at all and plenty of maintenance required. With broken taps a fridge that was stuck on the coldest setting that could not be turned down so fridge constantly ran dish draw that leaked when washing so a bit tired and needs refreshing.

feel good

Great location in the heart of New Plymouth - easy access to the waterfront, museum, gallery, gardens, food and everything that makes this town worth visiting.
As others have mentioned, designated Quest parking is limited, but street spaces on Currie St are free from 5pm-9am.
Room was spacious, bed comfortable and handy having access to a fridge and washing machine. Unfortunately the TV screen was purple and basically unwatchable - but didn’t come here to watch TV!
4.4
Easy location and good facilities. The halls a bit "dim" and numbering is "fun"...felt very safe and comfortable and the staff were lovely
