Wonderful one night stay as part of exploring Rutland Water and area over a weekend. Worth staying here for the fabulous food alone (amazing menu and incredibe service). Room was large, clean and comfortable. Lovely peninsula walk (5.5 or 7 mile options) right on the doorstep and a short drive to two nature / bird reserves. Would recommend and we will hopefully be back.

We stayed on after attending a friend’s birthday celebration lunch at The Finch’s Arms. We really enjoyed our stay, the food was delicious, the service was excellent and we had a very comfortable room. Thank you 😊

Lunch service on a Friday was poor with an uninspired menu served by an indifferent and sometimes surly team, breakfast Saturday excellent and with friendly natural service - lunch for large group on Saturday was average for both so overall i can only recommend the stay and breakfast , the information and web site grossly over rates the venues culinary and service capabilities - i dont say this lightly as im a Food and Beverage Director so know about challenges but feel honest feed back is better than the usual blah blah blah everything was wonderful when it wasnt

The Finch team gathered for us a jug of shampoo to utilise their gorgeous big baths but could have been better if they were already their of a bath bomb etc.
We have booked again for Valentines weekend because it very clean, great location, food and drink was great and the service was excellent.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and the accommodation was good value. Food in particular was lovely!
Service was quirky but that just added to the relaxed vibe of this lovely place.

A beautiful hotel, full of character and in a wonderful location

Certain lack of attention to details. Bath body wash dispenser empty.
Bar tables, inside and out, left cluttered with dirty glasses etc.

What a great place!
Excellent rooms, great food and drinks.
Service was perfect
My only gripe was a very squeaky floor in the bedroom

Overall absolutely excellent.
A few more veggie & vegan menu options would be fantastic!

Lovely location with amazing views from our bedroom. The bar was good but a little pricey. The dinner menu was limited but the food we had was very nice although the liver could have been better prepared. First impression of the room was influenced by the view. Upon closer inspection it was very tired. The bed frame had the covering peeling off and in my opinion needed a new mattress. There were cobwebs and dead flies in the window and all the walls were scuffed. Bathroom looked great but there was black mould in the sealant round the shower cubicle and the shower head was desperately in need of a good clean, or better still, replacement. That’s the bad stuff and having said that we really enjoyed our stay. The staff were great and very helpful. But I wouldn’t say it was four star and £140 for B&B was quite pricey.
It’s very difficult to be critical because we did enjoy it but it just needs a bit of TLC and an eye for detail for example, the red and blue decal on the mixer tap was missing - only minor but in a four star you wouldn’t expect that. I know the cold is to the right but I have been in hotels where it’s been swapped round - so very pedantic of me. I get that following the pandemic funds are going to be tight and appreciate that they will want to improve but these things take time. Downstairs was very good. Overall we had a great stay.

Lovely property however looking tired. Pub, waiting staff and food good, however rooms tired, beds uncomfortable, duvets too thick (for us) and facilities not great.

Had a very pleasant stay room was fine apart from a squeaky bed.
Food was excellent and Head man very accommodating when we asked if we could share a steak as it was too large for one meal it was not a problem.
All personnel very polite and accommodating. Would visit again.

It was good. Hotels.com had not booked our water view but they moved us free of charge. The staff were excellent. The food amazing. The restaurant was a little noisy due to the weather but we were able to move without an issue. Breakfast was very good.

Beautiful location. Stunning terrace room and view. Bed was uncomfortable and needs replacing. Everytime hot water tap was run in adjoining rooms very noisey boiler. Staff need to be more welcoming. Attitude of some out of order. So many things wrong with restaurant. Yet could be amazing.

Unfortunately the bed and mattress were not comfortable for us and the room was so hot - we couldn’t turn down the heating so had to turn it off.

Lovely location. The room felt a little tired and our bathroom housed the boiler for other rooms and so would "fire up" regularly and noisily which was rather annoying. The details were missing. They offer fresh milk from a fridge on the landing which is a great touch except it wasn't kept stocked so there wasn't milk available.
