The Front desk agent who checked me in was excellent, funny and generally the best first impression I could have received.

I had a very good stay, will go back when I am again in Iceland. The breakfast is very good and so is dinner. The room was clean and well appointed, the hotel is in a perfect area, all walkable and buzzing in the evening hours.

We had such a nice stay at this hotel. The staff was friendly and incredibly helpful! The room was lovely, the beds were comfortable, and it is located on a quiet square with a nice view! I highly recommend this hotel!!!

The parking is a nightmare, especially when you have an early flight and can’t park in the garage because of open and close times ( which is not conveniently located). In addition our room was above the street partying all night and then woke to not one but two piles of vomit on the street right in front of the hotel. I asked if they were going to clean so people didn’t see that walking in and get comment was the street cleaning will do it .
No bellman either .
Would not stay here again !

Good location, nice staff and service

The room I had was perfect for a solo traveller. It was clean, comfortable, and you could open the window to let in some fresh air. Staff in hotel and restaurant were kind and service oriented. I would recommend this property to anyone traveling to Iceland.

Very nice bathroom with quality toiletries, bedroom small and no top bedding sheet.
Very very noisy on floor 2, thumping from the dining room music and also Hard Rock Cafe to rear (do not stay on level 2 or rear facing!)
Staff were very helpful at reception.
Apotek restaurant for evening meal had a great menu and very well cooked and presented staff.
Let down by the staff who did their best but appeared to be short staffed so couldn’t give you the attention or service expected at this price point.
The plates were all chipped which were used to serve both our meals upon.
This is a great hotel if you are young and want to be on the thick of the action; would not recommend for a relaxing or family break.

Excellent location - was able to walk to all the local Reykjavik attractions. My only criticisms are that the single room is smaller than I'm used to, the room was too warm, and the evacuation alarm went off in the middle of the night 2 out of the 3 nights I was there. Having said all this, I would still stay there again.

Apotek was amazing, no words! The staff totally aimed to please at every step. The location was perfect! I also need to mention that the restaurant was excellent!

Great location! Easy to catch tour buses. Short walk to rainbow road, many restaurants, bars, shops and harbor. Great breakfast with lots of fresh food. Beds comfortable and black out curtains. Only problem was could hear music and people at night when trying to sleep on Friday and Saturday night.

Perfect location! Be prepared for no availability for early check ins…for early morning flight arrivals who need an early check in, I recommend booking a room for the night before.
Great place to stay; very clean and you’re in the heart of downtown

I was traveling alone to Iceland and stayed at the Apotek hotel. It felt very safe and the staff was wonderful! They were friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. There were plenty of dining options and the area was very walkable. It is also located conveniently near multiple bus stations making it easier to get around in Reykjavik. I would stay again and also recommend to others.

Great location as it is centrally located. Able to enjoy the city center area without needing transportation. Parking was absolutely confusing. There is none. Wish we would have been aware that one needs to "just find" parking at this place. By this time of our 10 day trip, we were not in the mood to try to find parking in a foreign country. We finally found a garage but weren't sure how it worked. Had to walk a long way with our bags to finally get to the hotel. The rooms were noce but quite small compared to the other places we stayed while in Iceland (although comparable to the other hotels in Reykjavik). Hotel is in a very convenient location, walking distance to everything in the city.

It is a lovely, charming hotel in a great location. The rooms are on a smaller side and not much in terms of amenities but everyone is friendly and restaurant at the hotel is great

We only wish we’d stayed in Reykjavik longer. Room felt spacious for the actual size. Right smack in the middle of everything and super convenient. But it’s pretty and sits on a little park, so it doesn’t feel hectic

If the hotel can provide local attractions maps the will be even better.

Staff allowed us early check in as we arrived exhausted from our travel. Only a 2 block walk to the dock to board our cruise ship. Convenient to downtown restaurants, museums etc.

The hotel is in a great location and the area has plenty of shopping and restaurants. Parking is difficult, but that can be said of almost every hotel in the area. The room was tiny, but we did not spend much time in it as we were exploring the area. The room did include a mini refrigerator which was a nice bonus, and a large fan which was so helpful due to the warm weather.

The Apotek is in downtown Reykjavik and within walking distance to many restaurants, the harbor, museums, etc. The Front Desk staff were very helpful. The breakfast buffet had a great selection of fruit, breads, meats, and hot dishes. Now for the negatives - on street parking was difficult to find. We ended up parking in a car park (parking garage) a few blocks away. The housekeeping staff seemed disorganized. The first day, after we had checked into our room, a housekeeper walked into our room after unlocking the door with her key. We were all quite surprised. The room had been cleaned and set-up, so apparently that information had not been updated on her list. The next day, after a long day of exploring Iceland, we walked into a room that did not get cleaned. The front desk was very apologetic and, of course, gave us fresh towels. The third day the room was cleaned. The bathroom was nice and fairly roomy. However, our shower was not completely enclosed which caused water to spray into the other parts of the bathroom. Our adult sons had another room which had a shower enclosure, so I guess just luck of the draw. Our room was very small, with two single beds pushed together. Overall, we would probably stay there again, maybe going for a larger room with enclosed shower.

Very central hotel in a stunning old town building. We arrived very early hoping to at least store bags and were delighted to be given really early check in.
Staff were friendly and helpful with the best value parking options.
Room was extremely comfortable and that bathroom very luxurious. One of the nicest hotels we've stayed at.
Only down side that may bother some guests is noise from nearby bars but it didnt bother us and we had a great night sleep.

Small boutique hotel in the heart of Reykjavik. Well located. Staff is welcoming and knowledgeable. The restaurant next door is wonderful. Stayed for two days pre- cruise. I had questions and requested recommendations from the hotel ahead of time regarding local tours and they hooked me up. Booked the golden circle and blue lagoon with Bus Iceland.
