Great guesthouse almost directly on a wonderful beach with lots of shade. Guesthouse provides beach chairs. Owner was extremely helpful with everything we needed.I would suggest to have a rental car if staying here, so you are able to explore other things in the area.

It was a perfect place for simple relaxation. 30 metres from a fantastic beach and good beach cafes/restaurants. No TV - a good thing for us. Not for those who want all inclusive luxury and haut-cuisine, but for those wanting authenticity and more sustainable tourism - perfect.

We arrived late, due toto a flight delay, but all the information that we needed was waiting for us.
The proprietor, who we met the next morning, spoke perfect English and updated us on everything that we needed to know.
The gite is about 100yds from an excellent beach; and there was a choice of EIGHT restaurants, a creperie and an ice cream parlour within a 5min walk of the property.
The gite was about 50yds from the main coast road of Basse Terre, which made exploring the island a cinch.
All i all, the place can't be faulted.
5 stars from me.

Only 30 seconds from one of the finest beaches I have seen in that area, so you can have a swim any time you desire. Place is quite calm; some eateries in walking distance; directly on the beach some more during the day. Owner are very friendly and helpful; Rooms are equipped with kitchen facility; breakfast on extra demand; car parking mostly available directly in front of Rose des Vents, if you return on Sunday before dawn, might need a few meters walk.

Nice hotel and nice owners. Very basic. Poor Wifi was major complaint. Hotel was VERY close to a VERY nice beach and nice restaurants.

Vasco welcomed me warmly with good English when I arrived. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable and the kitchenette was stocked with a few basics. My room had a nice private outdoor area which I didn't use and there were some common areas as well. parking was on the street across the road.

Rose des Vents was perfect for us. Owner/staff amazingly lovely, helpful and makes you feel warmly welcomed. Place is so aesthetic and clean, deatailed with good taste. It is well situated also if you dont have car, just 50 meters from busstop (bus from Point-a-Pitre took about 1h15min). Beach Plage de la Perle is the most beautiful on the west coast, having basic beach restaurants where you can have lunch. Rose des Vents is only few steps from the beach. I would definately choose this place again and again.

Beautiful place to stay. Very close to the beach. It’s better if you know french language because its hard to communicate and rent a car. The island is paradise!!

I really liked this place. The location was unbeatable if you just want to relax and get away. Staff is just a husband and wife (and baby) who live onsite and are super nice and helpful. I would absolutely go back to this place and recommend it to others.

I can't say enough good things about our stay at Rose des Vents. The owner, Vasco, is incredibly kind and helpful. We were a little late getting in from our flight and I was worried we would miss check in time, but the hotel is quite small (maybe 10 rooms) and Vasco and his family live on-site so we were able to get in no problem. We had breakfast each morning on the balcony which was a great spread of fresh fruits, juice, yogurt and breads. The hotel is on a dead end street and it's a two minute walk to a beautiful beach. The rooms were comfortable and spacious. We unexpectedly had to move rooms halfway through our stay from a suite to a regular room, but Vasco was incredibly accommodating and refunded the proper amount plus comped us breakfast. My biggest critique is that the second room we stayed in on the first floor wasn't as quite as the suite on the second floor. And also, be ready to wake up early with the roosters that are nearby! Vasco was helpful in helping us to make dinner reservations (we don't speak much French) and also provide recommendations of things to do in the area. My friend and I spent the first half of our trip at Rose des Vents and then went to Saint Francois for the second half. Honestly, I could've done without the second half of the trip. I wish we had stayed here the full week!

Rose des Vents is about 50 yards from a beautiful beach with clean sand, turquoise water, and pleasant bars serving freshly grilled fish and beer. What's better -- while this beach is beautiful, it is not a major destination on tourist maps, meaning you will have more privacy to enjoy the setting for yourself. Back at the hotel, you can shower outside on a wooden mat, and go back to your clean, quiet room with AC. In our room, a mosquito net wasn't just hanging from one point in a tangled mess, it was installed on the ceiling with broad brackets so that it fell down on all four sides of the bed, creating space fit for a princess. The staff are amazing. Vasco went out of his way to help me work with Expedia when my own plans changed. While this is a budget hotel, the quality of service, cleanliness, and location make this an incredible value and memorable experience -- one I would go back to again and again even if I could afford far more, and one I would recommend to those even who are not price sensitive.

Vasco and Sofia were excellent hosts. Anybody that speaks fluent English is a breath of fresh air. Near the beach.....

The gite was lovely and Vasco our landlord ever helpful. It was situated a few meters from a beautiful beach with small beach huts serving lunch. However, not all of them were open everyday. The main drawback was the fact that there were very few places to eat in the evening.

Beautiful house, excellent owners, authentic restaurants in walking distance, and a gorgeous beach at the end of the road. Shops not so easy unless you have your own transport. I asked the taxi to stop at a supermarket en route and stocked up on essentials. The kitchen facilities are very good. Only slight minus is the wi-fi which only worked on the terrace outside my room.

This was my second visit to Rose des Vents, and I would highly recommend it. The owners are very friendly and helpful, and the location, right by a simply stunning beach (the one where the BBC programme "Death in Paradise" is filmed), couldn't be bettered. The charming town of Deshaies is a short drive away, and is home to some excellent restaurants, and there is a fairly large and well-stocked supermarket a few minutes drive away too. Our room itself was large, clean and comfortable, and the self-catering facilities were perfect for us. All in all, an extremely pleasant place to stay.

I was very much drawn to this guesthouse because of the interesting and uncomplicated decor. It is very well located near La Plage de La Perle beach resort, a busy beach off the main road.

Excellent location , right next to beach, location is a little isolated for evening meals, however , a quick trip up to the local hotel or into deshaies will sort this out. Neither are in comfortable walking distance though .Excellent English which was a plus and overall very good value for money

We enjoyed our week at Rose des Vents. The owner, Vasco was very helpful, and knowledgeable, for us, as first time visitors to Guadeloupe. Our studio was very large and clean, with nearly everything we needed. It was rainy season, and we could sit comfortably on the covered veranda outside while waiting for the rain to stop. The Internet is good for browsing in our studio or outside on the veranda/patio.The beautiful beach is a short walk, with a few restaurants open even during rainy season.
