Food was delicious. Kids enjoyed their facilities and we all had a great time with hot spring pools.

This is one of my favorite hotel in Taiwan, and they offer excellent service and facilities to enrich your traveling experience in ChiBen. I visit this hotel many times, and they always keep polishing all details in hotel. I do suggest to spend all your time with hot spring or activities which arranged by hotel. Please always remember to pre-register some activities, and Sun-rise or hot air balloon will be very popular in specific period.

Very nice hotel. It may be 30 years old, the room was very nice and does not feel old. The hot spring soak tub in the room was wonderful. The buffet for dinner was ok. Enough choices of decent food. All staff were friendly and helpful.
The property is on a steep hill so it isn’t as easy to walk down and up. But the hotel has shuttle to local attractions as well as the train station.

The staffs at the Royal Chiben are very friendly, respectful and helpful. It is amazing that one of their front desk staff visited the most hotspring resorts in America and Asia and he is able clearly tell me the unique value of the Chiben hotspring and his hotel. his information makes me felt my selection of Chiben Royal Hotel is right.

We enjoyed our stay very much. Breakfast and dinner are included, which had a lot of choices and all delicious. We also enjoyed various activities, not to mention the hot spring facilities.

This is a family-oriented hotel. In other words, expecting plenty of kids running around and yelling everywhere (lobby, aisles, facilities, restaurants etc.) in the hotel. You can hear them even if you stay in your room. If you're looking for a quiet and relaxing vacation, avoid this place. If you're bringing kids, it's perfect.

Great resort style hotel located in Zhiben, Taitung, stayed 3 nights with buffet breakfast and dinner, overall great experience.Hotel property is old, suggest Management to consider renovating rooms in the near future. Parking is not great either, limited spots since there was no underground parking.Regarding food, overall buffet was alright. Dinner was mostly the same menu and breakfast changed more frequently. One night we decided to try the teppanyaki (had to pay cost difference of buffet) was much tastier than the buffet.

The good: Large property in secluded mountainous hot springs area. Some rooms are newly renovated and very nice. Excellent breakfast buffet. Charming nightly indigenous tribal dance performances (repeats every three days). A variety of hot spring pools to choose from: male-only, female-only, mixed. Free parking. The bad: Service quality could be better. When we checked in we were given rooms facing the parking lot; we requested room changes and the front desk receptionist who helped us was sullen and unfriendly. He made us feel as if we were bothering him. There are three restaurants but all of them close at 9 pm - the only food available after then is at the lobby bar. This lobby bar was understaffed and the food underwhelming. The pizza was literally a microwave pizza, the fried chicken cold and chewy. The waitresses seemed untrained - we were not given eating utensils even after the food arrived! To any hotel management who might read this: The unfriendly receptionist was the man who was working the front desk when we checked-in on Oct. 21 at 7:30 pm.

I love the quality of the hot springs, all the activities offered by the hotels, especially the aboriginal dance show!

Many different hot springs and was not able to try every one as we only stayed one night. Recommend staying at least 2 nights to enjoy all the amenities. Nothing to eat within 20 min walking distance so you have to eat at the restaurants in the hotel unless you have a car. Great aboriginal performance.

Great activities but would be better if they are all free of charge for guests. Very good hotspring.

1. All hot spring facilities are somewhat outdated and not clean.2. Hotel is located in an extremely isolated area. Without transportation...you have nowhere to go. 3. Many Taiwanese and especially those Chinese tourists were spitting in the hot spring spa areas just everywhere they go. It is disgusting.

The guest room are just upgraded with very good design. Its comfortable and clean. For serious hot spring lovers, Hotel Royal Chihpen is a good destination. The hot spring pools are clean and highly concentrated.

This hotel is a very good stay for the area. The outdoor hot springs are good although a bit small and can get crowded if even 5 guys or girls happen to go at the same time. The rooms are very clean, nicely organized and beautifully designed. Having your own hot spring bath in your room is awesome although the layout could improve for more comfortable soaking design. Everything else about the room is above expectations.
The staff are very friendly and willing to answer your questions with enthusiasm. A lot of nice subtle perks about this place such as built in library in the lobby or the many different activities they provide.
Overall I would say this is a very nice Hotel that certainly stays within the 5-Star Hotel range.
