They have better hair dryers at the front desk and the doors/windows have shutters on the outside. I didn't know either of these things until I checked out. (The hair dryer on the wall wouldn't dry a newborn baby's hair.) And my balcony faced the parking lot, lit overnight; in theory, there are shutters, but I can't speak to how effective they are. Surely more effective than the hack system I used for 2 nights :) Other than that, this is a very decent lower cost option within short walking distance from Bellagio. Of course, be prepared for the steep climb from the city, but when I came in for the first night and took the bus, it was perfect for my needs! And once I visited Villa Melzi, I realized how great the location is.

Tough commenting on this hotel. Location and property grounds are beautiful. Additionally, patio and dinning space very open and professional. The down side is that the rooms need a significant updating. Bed was brutal hard and bathroom was impractical and small. Shower didn’t drain and toilet was wedged between wall and sink so that it was practically unusable for any normal sized person.

A charming hotel about 10-15 min walk from town and the ferry dock. The room was comfortable and having free parking at the premise was very convenient. The breakfast buffet was great and the breakfast room had a spectacular view of the lake. The staff was very friendly. The staff hours are limited from 8 am to 8 pm(?) but has no issues. You need to keep pressing the elevator button to make it move to the floor you want to go to. It was odd but not a big deal. Overall, an excellent value at a beautiful location.

This is a lovely hotel run by a wonderful group of people. From check in to breakfast and afternoon cocktails in the garden- everyone was kind and helpful. The view is amazing, and as the hotel is set up in the hillside, there is a bit of a walk into town. The bus is easy to catch from right outside the hotel but we preferred the short 15 min walk

I have never been to Italy. My first visit was to hotel Silvio. I must say I am more impressed with the staff at Silvio than any other country I have visited. The room was suoerb, great air conditioning, great view and very clean. The lady working the front desk on July 12 morning(can’t remember her name) was a star. She had taken such good care of us, and was very personable. I wish we had stayed longer simply because of the staff. Also upon check in, our room wasn’t to be ready for 30 minutes do they invited us to the patio for a champagne whilst we waited. Absolutely brilliant. 11/10, kudos to hotel Silvio and its staff. Grazie

Hotel is nice but we had no AC for last day, so if you traveling in summer be mind full about there AC situation which wasn’t not good. 20 minutes walk from canter of Bellagio. If you have issue walking the hotel is on top. Staff was nice and helpful.

We enjoyed our studio room which had a lovely view of the lake and was quite spacious. Very clean, friendly and helpful concierge who gave us excellent recommendations to the best restaurant up on top of the hill with the best view and incredible food. We will definitely be back.

Apartment itself is good and has garden and view of Mountain 👍 . But if you have to walk from Bellagio port, there is a little challenge to walk uphill to hotel reception check in first, then still have to walk about 10 minutes more uphill again to the apartment

The staff is nice. The property itself is not. It’s very, very dated. I didn’t have curtains in my room which was wasn’t ideal considering I was facing the street. The bathroom is tiny, the shower even smaller. It’s also not near the downtown area, either wait for a bus or walk. If you just got off the ferry you’ll have to wait for a bus as there are no taxis in the area, or you are walking.

Our room looked like a dorm room. Our air conditioner was so loud we could not sleep. We checked out early and this hotel would not refund us. Very disappointed with Hotel Silvio and Expedia. No one would help us.

Spacious comfortable loft room, view, train delayed to Como and late to hotel (about 9:15-9:30pm)- no dining options in Bellagio open including hotel Silvio, but they did end up allowing cold appertivo options and wine with some convincing. Bellagio is a beautiful place! Recommend ferry ride to Como.

Hotel Silvio was very nice. We loved the balcony! The balcony had a tiny table and two chairs. Perfect for morning tea. The restaurant was fancy and pretty. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The air-conditioning worked well! My only issue and advise ----when you get off of the ferry catch the bus (reasonably close) to the hotel. The bus runs on the hour. Do NOT count on taxis! Lugging the suitcase up the hill was difficult. However, I am in my 50's, have a bad knee with 40 extra pounds on me. However, once you get the luggage into the hotel, the 10 minute walk into the heart of the town isn't too bad. Being away from the heart of town had its perks. It was quiet and we had a splendid view of the water from our balcony. It was also nice to go downstairs at the end of our day and have a glass of wine in the courtyard, with all its pretty lights and attentive staff. The elevator was a little "iffy" at the time, so the receptionist carried our bags up the stairs. They were very helpful there.... really more than any other place we stayed. I would stay there again as long as I had a ride up the hill.

Dust all over ceiling fan in our room, good breakfast, could of had more variety for breakfast. Room was small and tight, beautiful views from the property and dining, nice walk through the Villa gardens close by. Parking if you can get one, hard to get a parking spot once dinner starts if you go out and come back. Free Public parking about 300 m away.

Nice basic hotel. Quite clean although our shower tray needed a good bleaching. Restaurant lovely. Good breakfast. Staff helpful and friendly. The walk into town is problematic as it’s mainly on a busy road. Down hill on the way in but uphill on the way back which, when you are full of pasta and wine, is not so good. The walk played havoc with my husbands hip so we checked out a day early.

We stayed at the hotel apartments, which we believed to be on the same grounds as the hotel. The 5-10 minute walk up a hill to reach our apts was unexpected. There are no elevators at the apt and we carried luggage up to the 4th floor, which was also unexpected. The room was large and comfortable enough for three people but the sofa couch was uncomfortable. The room was clean and we had a decent view of the water (the lower rooms do not have a view). The apt had a kitchenette but it was poorly stocked - it had a fridge, electric kettle, and some utensils and glasses but no coffeemaker or coffee. The bathroom was roomy but the shower did not drain and you wind up standing in ankle deep water. Despite requests for this to be looked at, it’s unclear if anyone came. We also requested extra towels which never arrived. Instead, they placed the towels from the floor back on the towel hooks. The front desk staff was very nice and did try to accommodate us by driving us to the apt in a car upon arrival and departure. However, while we saw other hotels send cars to the town center to pick up guests from the airport and dinner etc, Silvio does not provide this. The highlight of our stay was the excellent restaurant. The staff were exceptionally nice and accommodating. And the food is very good. The absolute standout is the local fish with risotto. It’s a regional specialty and a must try. It was a true highlight of our entire stay in the Lake Como area.

Beware of annex building 500meters away. Very far. does not feel part of hotel. Felt very disconnected. The walk from Ferry to hotel was SO challenging. Uphill and very hot. A bit of a distance from City Center. Check in staff .. just OK. no one ever answered the phone. I think 'main hotel' maybe be nice, but I would stay in city center next time for sure.

(Not the hotels fault that I didnt check location better but really not a good place with kids.. Terrible to walk from the apartment to city centre alongside cars at Street with no sidewalks....but this is not the responsibility of the Hotel.) Although, the apartment smelled clorine like it was showered in it..like a quick-fix clearing. Fridge was not cleaned and there was food in it from the past guests... ( the Hotel staff came to fix when we told them though) There should be information about the noise problem. We hade only an indoor-door between us and neighbour and they gave us big troubles to sleep.. It sounded like they were in the same room. And on The other side of Street was a really annoying dog ( and I'm a dog lover!) barking a Lot. The "private beach" of Hotel felt dirty but better beach quite nearby.. But again problem walking with kids... I wouldn't recommend this place to a family with kids but maybe ok for young party people or some thing like that.. Staff was polite and friendly.
